𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿,

Who said your writing must sound solemn to be spiritual?

Spirituality isn’t defined by a gloomy tone or heavy words. It’s about truth that pierces the heart, words that stir the soul, and messages that ignite transformation.

Jesus used everyday stories to share eternal truths. His parables weren’t dry, they were lively, relatable, and unforgettable.

Your writing can do the same. It can inspire laughter, tears, reflection, and action without losing its spiritual depth.

So, write with freedom. Speak the language of your audience while carrying the power of God’s Spirit. Whether it’s poetic, humorous, raw, or bold, let it be real, let it be relevant, let it be you.

The world doesn’t need another dull sermon. It needs writers who ignite faith, challenge mediocrity, and awaken hearts to God’s truth.

Will you be that writer?

There's something you need to understand if you’re a Christian writer...

You can’t give what you don’t have.

It’s impossible to pour from an empty cup.

You can’t write about faith if you’re not living it.

You can’t inspire others with God’s truth if you’re not rooted in it yourself.

Think about it...

Your writing is a reflection of your inner life.

If your heart isn’t soaked in God’s Word, if you’re not constantly drawing strength and wisdom from God, then your words may sound good, but they’ll lack the depth, power, and truth that truly transforms lives.

Having talent for words isn't all there is to be an excellent Christian writer. It’s about being a vessel that overflows with God’s grace, love, and truth.

To do that, you have to first fill yourself up. Spend time in God's presence.

Let His Spirit shape your thoughts, your convictions, and your perspective.

The reality is this...what you carry inside is what flows out. If you’re empty, your writing will be shallow.

But if you’re full of Him, your words will inspire, challenge, and transform.

Writing for God starts with living for Him. So, before you pick up your pen, ask yourself:

Am I letting God fill me up first?

Many Christian writers have no idea how to write with the Spirit of God.

When they hear the statement, “As a Christian writer, you have to write with the Spirit of God,” they imagine it’s about experiencing some mystical surge, a wave of supernatural energy that magically flows from their pen.

They wait for that “mysterious” moment thinking that it's only then they will capture the Spirit in their words.

But the thing is, writing with the Spirit is not some rare, intense feeling.

It’s not a mystical mood or a sudden spark.

Writing with the Spirit comes from something much deeper, something constant, already alive in you if you know how to tap into it.

The Spirit isn’t some force that should take over you; He’s right there, ready to pour into your words.

Are you wondering how to really write with the Spirit, not from fleeting emotions but from a place of genuine, Spirit-filled depth?

I am excited to announce our first-ever podcast on 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗼𝗱!

In this episode, I'll talk about what it truly means to write from the Spirit, how to cultivate it, and how to step into a flow that transforms mere words into messages full of power, truth, and life.

Don’t miss this; it’s time to go deeper...!

𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨, 𝐆𝐨𝐝-𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬!

It’s been a while, but today, I would like to talk about something important in our journey as Christian writers: 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐑 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐀𝐔𝐒𝐄.

Some people call it a sabbatical break.

Sometimes, as Christian writers, we always feel the need to keep pushing, keep creating, keep giving, which makes us underestimate the strength and wisdom in stepping back.

A sabbatical break doesn't mean quitting or losing direction, it is deepening your roots.

Just as the soil rests to regain its nutrients, sometimes we too need a season of refreshing.

Pausing your writing endeavours is not a weakness; it’s a strategy.

It’s a chance to realign, to listen to God in the quiet moments, to let Him refill our empty cups so we can pour out words that truly heal, inspire, and transform.

This pause could be an invitation from God to step aside, to stop hustling, and simply dwell in His presence.

A sabbatical break allows us to go deeper in God, to gather insights, experiences, and revelations that will later find their way into our writing.

The Bible speaks of “times of refreshing” from the Lord, and as writers, we need these moments to sharpen our vision and refine our calling.

So, if you’re in a season of pause, live it.

Let God renew your creativity and recharge your spirit.

And when you return, return with power, with clarity, and with a message that really inspires.

To every writer out there on a sabbatical break, let the pause prepare you. Your words will be stronger, richer, and more anointed.

𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗙𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿,

Do you ever feel like your pen has run dry?

You feel ideas are scarce and your words feel empty?

In Psalm 23:5: "...Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over."

This verse is a promise. It's a picture of God anointing us for His purpose.

When God anoints, He doesn’t measure with a stingy hand. No, His hand overflows.

The oil isn’t just for your head; it’s for your pen, your purpose, your platform.

Imagine a fountain bursting forth, more than you can hold so much that it spills over to those around you, blessing lives you’ll never meet, reaching hearts that ache for truth and grace.

As writers, we’re vessels.

And God’s anointing on our words makes them more than words.

His oil is His touch on our thoughts, His power on our phrases, His Spirit on every sentence.

Our "cup" isn’t meant to be barely full; it’s made to overflow, beyond books, blog posts, articles, Social Media posts, WhatsApp status or journals.

It overflows into every reader’s life, into every corner of their spirit, with words that heal, comfort, challenge, and transform.

So, as you write today, remember He anoints you. Write from that overflow.

Tap into His abundance, let His Spirit guide you, and watch how the overflow reaches beyond your imagination.

𝐏𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐍𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑 𝐆𝐎𝐄𝐒 𝐖𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐆

If you’re not passionate about your craft, you won’t grow. It’s as simple as that.

A consistent writer is driven by passion to show up even on days they don't feel like.

A creative writer finds inspiration in every corner because passion drives their imagination.

An excellent writer pours heart and soul into every line, and it’s that passion that sharpens their skill.

A skillful writer isn’t just born; they’re built by a fiery passion to improve, to refine, to push past limits.

Passion is the secret ingredient, the main sauce.

It’s the difference between a writer who just types words and a writer who shapes worlds.

Passion makes you go deeper, aim higher, and refuse to settle for less than your best.

Without it, your words lack life. But with it, your craft becomes a tool for transformation, and your writing becomes a legacy.

So, if you want to make impact, if you want your words to touch hearts, let passion lead you, let it inspire every sentence.

Passionate writers don’t just write; they inspire, they transform, they make an impact.

As a Christian writer, picture your words as tiny seeds, each one has the potential to inspire and transform lives.

When you sit down to write, see yourself as though you're in a field where the soil is like souls yearning for hope.

Your pen is the plow, breaking through the tough soil of their doubts and fears, your pen is a tool to be used to create a space for new life to spring forth.

Every sentence you craft sends those seeds into the hearts of your readers, it gently plants messages of faith where they need it most.

Each word you write invites them to shed their burdens and see the possibility for transformation.

Those seeds take root, they bring forth tender shoots of hope and resilience sprouting in the most unexpected places like the mind of someone wrestling with despair.

As they read your stories or write-ups, they begin to feel the warmth of sunlight breaking through their clouds of uncertainty, and suddenly, their once-barren soul-land come alive with the vibrant colours of faith.

You plant an inner garden within them, where doubts give way to belief, and fear transforms into courage.

Your writing doesn’t just tell a story; it plants a vision of what can be, it reminds your readers that they are not alone and that God’s promises are still alive.

The words you write waters those growing seeds, nurtures them and invites your readers to walk with you into a brighter tomorrow.

Dear Christian writer,
Sing this song with me:

We will work the field of souls together you and I.
Some fields are blooming now, other fields are dry.
We're not the same, but differences aside...
We will work the field of souls, together you and I.

𝑾𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒂 𝑪𝒉𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝒘𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒊𝒔 𝒂 𝒕𝒘𝒐-𝒘𝒂𝒚 𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑.

On one side, you have your relationship with God.

On the other, you have your relationship with your audience.

First, your connection with God is important. As a Christian writer, you’re not just writing to share your thoughts; you’re writing to communicate God’s heart.

It’s a spiritual journey. You pray, study the Word, listen for His voice, and trust that the Holy Spirit will guide you.

The words you write should be a reflection of what God has placed in your heart. You lean on God because without His direction, your words may lack the power to transform lives.

God’s inspiration may come to you in various ways.

You might find His voice speaking to you through reading inspiring books that stir your heart and give you fresh ideas.

Perhaps it comes while listening to powerful sermons that sparks revelations in your heart.

Sometimes, it’s in the middle of a meaningful conversation, where a thought or a phrase brings clarity or insight.

There are even moments when a hymn or a worship song, with its lyrics and melody, draws you into God's presence, fills you with ideas and truths that you need to express.

These are moments, where the Holy Spirit uses different channels to communicate His message to you.

Then your relationship with your audience is where things get real and practical.

You are writing to meet their needs, to speak into their situations, and to offer the hope, encouragement or wisdom that comes from God’s truth.

But how do you connect?

You must understand them, their struggles, their questions, their hopes.

A Christian writer is like a bridge between heaven and earth, helping others see and experience God’s truth in their everyday lives.

If your writing is too complex or too theological, you might miss them.

But if you allow the Holy Spirit to guide what you write and how you write, your words will reach their hearts.

It’s about balance:
Staying true to the message God gives you while packaging it in a way that resonates with your readers.

Think about Jesus, He always used parables and relatable stories. He spoke in ways people could grasp without losing the depth of the truth He was sharing.

Writing as a Christian is not just about informing but transforming.

You are a vessel for God to use, and when you approach your writing as a two-way relationship; with God on one side, filling you, and your audience on the other, receiving what He has poured into you, your writing becomes powerful.

It becomes more than words; it becomes a channel for God’s Spirit to move and bring change.

In this way, your writing is a ministry, a service to God, and a blessing to those who read your words.

22/10/2024

Dear Christian Writer,

When you're set to write, give it your absolute best.

Every word you write is a message that can change lives. So take it seriously.

Write your first draft, then read it over. Don’t just glance through, read with care, as if you’re your own audience.

Look for clarity, strength, and the heart of the message. Then, go back and correct any rough edges you see.

But don’t stop there.

After you’ve made your corrections, let the work rest a bit, and then read it again. This time, look for anything you might have missed.

Did a new idea come to you?
Was there a key point you forgot to mention?
Add it.
Is there a detail that now seems unnecessary
Remove it.

Make your writing as clear and impactful as possible.

Now, step outside. Imagine you're the reader.
Does the message stir your spirit?
Does it keep your interest?
Is the point of the writing clear, or does it feel like something is missing?

Be honest with yourself. Correct, rework, and rewrite as needed.

Writing is like sculpting. You start with a rough block, and each time you go over it, you're chiseling away the unnecessary, smoothing out the rough spots, and sharpening the details until the true beauty shines through.

Writing for God’s glory isn’t just about getting words to write; it’s about delivering a message that reflects His heart.

You are His vessel, carrying His message to a world that needs to hear it. Your diligence in this work matters.

Be led by the Spirit as you write, and let His wisdom guide every step of the process.

Pray before you start writing. Pray while you edit. And most importantly, pray when you feel like giving up.

The enemy often attacks during the writing process because he knows the power your words carry. But if you push through, if you give it your all, and trust God to breathe on your work, it will have the power to transform lives.

So don’t rush the process. Writing is both an art and a spiritual discipline. Take your time, polish your words, and when you’re done, ask yourself:

Is this the best I can offer to God?
If the answer is no, go back and refine it.

Give Him your best, because what you're doing is more than just writing, you're partnering with the Holy Spirit to communicate God's heart to the world.

With each word, aim to inspire, uplift, and challenge your readers. Write with purpose, with passion, and with precision, and God will use your words to make impact.

08/10/2024

Before anything else, you are first human. Then you are a Christian. And after that, you are a writer.

Being a Christian writer doesn’t mean you’re the Saviour of the world. You are simply a vessel, someone God is using to share the message of salvation. It’s okay to be imperfect, fragile, and human.

We’re not the Messiah. We’re messengers. We don’t redeem; we carry words of redemption.

We are human. We struggle. We have doubts. We make mistakes.

We’re not called to be perfect; we’re called to be real.

Think about it:

David, the psalmist, poured out his fears, frustrations, and joys in his writings.

Paul, the apostle, wasn’t shy about sharing his weaknesses and struggles.

Even Jesus, our Savior, wept, wrestled with the weight of His calling, and asked for God’s help.

They were human, just like us.

So, shed off the burden of perfection:

It’s okay not to have all the answers.
It’s okay to admit your fears and doubts.
It’s okay to make mistakes and learn from them.

Your writing isn’t about showing off your strength, it’s about showing how God’s strength shines through your weakness.

You are a Christian writer, yes, but you're still human. And that’s perfectly okay.

It’s in your humanness that your writing becomes relatable.

People don’t need to read about someone who has it all together, they need to see someone who is real, someone who battles with the same doubts, fears, and questions they do.

When you write from that place of authenticity, you give others the courage to share their stories too.

Your vulnerability can be someone else’s lifeline. When you admit that you don’t always have it figured out, that you too stumble, it creates space for grace.

Grace for you, and grace for those who read your words.

When we realize that God uses the flawed and broken people to carry His perfect message, that’s where transformation happens.

So, don’t hold back. Don’t feel like you have to present a polished, flawless version of yourself or your writing. The power of your words does not lie in your perfection, but in their honesty.

Remember, God doesn’t call the equipped, He equips the called. And He called you, not because you’re perfect, but because you’re willing to be real.

Keep writing. Keep showing up in your humanness. God will take care of the rest.
