Christiana Idowu was a 300-level student studying Botany at the Federal University of Agriculture in Abeokuta. She went missing on August 19th, while traveling to the University of Lagos, where she was doing her internship. Sadly, Christiana was kidnapped and killed by someone she knew, a young man named Adeleye Ayomide, who is a Philosophy student at Olabisi Onabanjo University.
Ayomide did terrible things to Christiana. He kidnapped her, hurt her, and then killed her. What's even sadder is that they were childhood friends, and they even went to the same church when they were growing up. Despite their history, Ayomide chose to do something so bad to Christiana.
This wasn’t the first time Ayomide had done something terrible. In 2018, he was accused of killing his girlfriend, and in 2020, he also killed his own sister. Now, Christiana became his latest victim.
Ayomide was caught by soldiers, and he admitted to the crime. He even used Christiana's phone to take money from her parents before killing her. It's heartbreaking that women are still being treated this way in 2024. Women deserve to be safe. We hope that Christiana gets the justice she deserves.
