ic. Scope
NCMA will cover all major music genres in Nigeria. It will also recognize all musical works in the major Nigerian languages. There will be video as well as audio categories. Consequently, the award categories will include slots in major Nigerian languages – it really has to be “Nigerian”. Recipients of the award will be selected from the musical work done in the year under focus. For administrative purposes, the focus period will be from October to October every year. Strategy
To achieve the goals set above, the following strategies will be employed:
· Professionalism/Excellence:
The project will be carried out professionally at all stages. We will also employ professionals to handle strategic roles as will be required. Excellence will be seen as our trade mark. The entire project will be well packaged leaving no room for shabbiness. The best tools will be used; the best publicity materials as well as excellent relationship with all that the project brings us in contact with will be maintained.
· Integrity:
Honesty remains the best policy. We would maintain integrity in all we do – internally and externally. We would not manipulate records/figures. Only deserving individuals will be awarded. Importantly, we must always bear in mind the truth that this is a kingdom award – we must understand that God is vitally involved.
· Truly Nigerian:
The vision of the award will be sold to every Nigerian making them see it as their own hence the need for them to be involved it. It will truly represent the Nigerian Christian music industry yet maintain international standard. It will essentially serve as a good avenue to promote young artistes and celebrate the ones that have contributed very well to the industry.
· Media Publicity:
The project will be media driven. It will enjoy publicity online (website and social media networks), on the TV, radio and the print media. Through the media, we will bring the award to everyone’s lips and make it a household name throughout Nigeria and beyond. All publicity/communications via the media platforms will be in sync passing the same message.
· Involvement of Major churches:
The major church denominations in Nigeria would be vitally involved. We would pick some music directors from these churches to be on the panel of judges for the awardees selection process. We would also invite some of their choirs to perform at the event.
