Good morning everyone we are glad to announce that we have received the screenplays for the finalists of the 2nd Phase of the Aforevo screenwriting contest, we will review the submissions, and more announcements will be coming soon.

Good morning fellow contestants you have qualified for the Grand finale of the AFOREVO NOLLYWOOD SCREENWRITING competition Phase 2" , This final phase involves you sending your screenplays with the intention that you have learned what it takes to create a mouthwatering blockbuster AFOREVO-ESQUE story
Rules are as follows
*stories must be compelling and intriguing
*characters must be well fleshed out
*all acts must be relevant to the story

Aforevo Nollywood Screenwriting Contest
2ND HALF 2022
DISCOVERING OUR CORE SCREENWRITERS

This is the second phase of the just concluded Aforevo Nollywood Screenwriting Contest. The objective/purpose of this contest is to discover 5 screenwriters who will be writing scripts regularly for Aforevo.

Below are the set parameters which will govern the competition.

The contest shall commence on Wednesday June 15, 2022 and end on Wednesday July 20, 2022.

Kindly “Carefully” Read The Rules And Regulations.

STAGE 1 (6 DAYS)
• Only the top 20 winners from the previous contest shall participate in this contest. Their names will be published soon.

• The participants shall be given YouTube links to 6 Aforevo movies, 3 of the movies are best performing while 3 are least performing.

• The participants shall watch the 6 movies critically over a period of 6 days and analyze why some are best performing and some are least performing.

• The aim of this stage is to check how deeply the contestants understand movies, their level of thinking and their analytical prowess.

• 10 contestants shall be eliminated at the end this stage.

STAGE 2 (1 DAY)
• The remaining 10 contestants shall be given information and guidelines on vital things to have in mind when writing scripts for Aforevo.

STAGE 3 (14 days)
• Using what they learnt from STAGE 1 and 2, the contestants shall write scripts of their own choice, based on the following themes: Emotional, Love, or Love + Emotional.

• The script must meet the top performing movies standard of Aforevo and must follow the company’s guidelines.

• The script must not be less than 100 scenes
• Contestants can submit their already written scripts if the theme is any of these: love, emotion or love + emotion, and the scripts must be reviewed to meet Aforevo’s standard and follow the company’s guidelines.

• Scripts must be submitted before July 7, 2022.

STAGE 3 (7 DAYS)
• Aforevo in-house Judges to read and score scripts.

FINAL STAGE
• Winners to be announced on July 20, 2022
• Aforevo shall pay N300,000 for each well-written and accepted script.

• If all the 10 scripts are well-written and accepted by Aforevo, the company shall pay for all the scripts.

• The best 5 contestants shall be retained by Aforevo as the company’s regular screenwriters.

The 3RD PRIZE Winner in the AFOREVO Nollywood Screenwriting Contest (NSWC) First Half, 2022.

A little about DOLLY NWADUBA.

DOLLY is a Nollywood fast rising New York Film Academy trained actor, screenwriter, producer, voice over artist and entrepreneur, who hails from Delta State. A graduate of University of Benin with a degree in Diplomacy & International Studies.

As a screen actor she has starred in several movies in Hollywood and Nollywood playing both lead and supporting roles. She has featured in over 20 movies since moving back to Nigeria in 2017. As a Screenwriter, she has written for both television and “the big screen” for major production companies. As a producer, she has over eight feature films to her credit, which include Distance Between, One Wish, Beguiling and her latest work Serendipity which features Frederick Leonard and Monalisa Chinda, and was directed by Tchidi Chikere.

She is the CEO and Creative Director of Dolly’s Signature Ltd (DSL), a Film and Media Production Company, and Dolly’s Signature Interiors (DSI).

Dolly is happily married and currently shuttles between Lagos and Los Angeles for her businesses.

DOLLY NWADUBA will be presented with N300,000 and an AWARD CERTIFICATE on Friday April 29, 2022.

A little about ABUNDANCE EFFIONG.

Abundance Effiong is a prolific writer, actor and filmmaker. He's also a journalist and a pastor. The CEO of Kimeku Multi Purpose Int'l Ltd, an entertainment company and East Wind Integrated Resources Ltd,, a real estate consulting, marketing and facility management company. He's an alumnus of the University of Calabar. He's married and lives in Abuja with his family.

ABUNDANCE EFFIONG will be presented with N500,000 and an award certificate on Friday April 29, 2022.

IMPORTANT UPDATE

Hi all,

Let’s start by saying that we’re proud of many of the scripts received. Nigerians are really greatly talented.

Due to the massive amount of scripts received, we have decided to allow the Judges extra 2 weeks (until March 10, 2022) to read and grade all the scripts. We believe it’s fair that the Judges read all the submitted scripts and grade them appropriately.

From March 11, 2022, we’ll start contacting writers of the best 20 scripts to submit their full scripts for final grading. After that, winners shall be announced.
