Again, Abule Ijoko, Ifo Road Graded, Awaits Full Reconstruction

By: Mary David

The Abule Ijoko-Lemode road in the Ifo area underwent grading exercises today, Monday, December 23rd, signaling the Ogun State Government's commitment to reconstructing the long-dilapidated road.

This development follows the government's promise to rebuild the road, made during the commissioning of the Ojodu Abiodun-Denro-Isashi-Akute road sometimes this year November.

According to reports from Ogun Update page on Facebook said the Ogun State Government initiated palliative work on the Akute-Lambe-Okearo-Agbado road, with Abule Ijoko-Lemode road also benefiting from the grading exercise.

Notably, this is not the first time the road has undergone grading. A similar exercise was carried out on December 15, 2022, but it only resulted in the reconstruction of the section from Oja Ijoko down to Calvary International School closer to Cele corner bus stop.

However, the reconstruction did not extend to the Abule-Lemode road down to Agbado, leaving residents eagerly awaiting the completion of the project. The grading exercise today is seen as a preparatory step for the full reconstruction of the road.

Residents of Abule Ijoko-Lemode are hoping that this new development will mark the beginning of a sustained effort to complete the reconstruction project, which is expected to transform the road and improve the overall quality of life in the area.

"Yahoo Yahoo People Have Wisdom, But Use it for Evil"- Adeboye

By Paul Odoh

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has strongly criticized those involved in internet fraud, commonly known as Yahoo Yahoo.

In his sermon, "Divine Wisdom," at the church's National Headquarters in Ebute Meta, Lagos today, Adeboye emphasized that these individuals possess knowledge and wisdom but misuse it for evil purposes.

Adeboye distinguished between divine wisdom, which comes from God, and worldly wisdom, which originates from the devil. He encouraged congregants to seek divine wisdom, stressing that it is the only path to true success.

The cleric noted that many people are drawn to worldly wisdom because they desire quick results. However, he warned that this impatience leads to destructive consequences. Citing the law of harvest, Adeboye reminded the audience that patience is essential, saying, "When you sow, you don't expect it to germinate the next day; it doesn't work like that."

Adeboye concluded that every action has consequences, emphasizing that "whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap." He prayed for restitution for those who have been led astray.

OLU OF IJOKO-LEMODE WINS 9-YEAR OBASHIP TUSSLE IN COURT

By Marvellous David Ijoko-Lemode Media

In a historic verdict, Justice O.S. Olusanya of the Ogun State High Court, Ijebu-Ode, has brought an end to a protracted 9-year obaship tussle in Ijoko-Lemode, ruling in favor of the incumbent Olu, Oba Solomon Adisa Shokunbi.

The court's judgment, delivered on recently unequivocally stated that only descendants of Ogunshina Lemode, the founder and first settler of Ijoko-Lemode, can lay legitimate claim to the Oba stool. This ruling effectively bars Chief Solomon Ojutola and other families from contesting the throne.

The dispute began in 2011 when Chief Ojutola filed a writ of summon, challenging Oba Adisa Shokunbi's right to the throne. Ojutola claimed to be a direct descendant of the founder and sought the court's intervention to recognize him as the rightful monarch.

During the trial, the court examined Exhibit C28, which revealed that Ojutola's progenitor, Ogunremi, was merely a close friend of Ogunshina Lemode, not a family member. This contradicted Ojutola's later claim that they were brothers from the same father.

Furthermore, the court rejected Ojutola's plea to be recognized as the rightful monarch, despite being installed by the Alake of Egbaland as the Baale of Ijoko-Lemode. The court noted that the Alake's jurisdiction only covers Abeokuta Local Government, now Abeokuta North and South.
