Ogunde Owobo has been making headlines over his standout performance in the epic series drama “Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre” on Netflix.

“Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre’, directed and produced by Kunle Afolayan, was Owobo’s first movie on the Nollywood scene where he portrayed the character of ‘Bashorun’, captivating the audience with flawless acting.

Let’s unravel 46-year-old Owobo Ogunde, the mastermind behind the character ‘Bashorun’ in Anikulapo series👇

Owobo Ogunde was Born in 1978, Owobo Ogunde is the youngest son of the iconic Hubert Ogunde, a pioneer in Nigerian theater. In the 1970s, Owobo demonstrated his acting talents by portraying Oriadekigbe in his father’s production “Aropin T’Enia” at Glover Hall, Lagos. His eldest son contributes another dimension to the illustrious Ogunde legacy.

Hubert Ogunde, his father, altered the name to Ogunde Theater Party in 1947 and Ogunde Concert Party in 1950. Eventually, in 1960, it became Ogunde Theater, a title that endured until his passing in 1990. He’s often hailed as “the father of Nigerian theatre” or “the father of contemporary Yoruba theatre.”

Hailing from Ijebu Ososa, Ogun State, Nigeria, he graduated from Igbobi College, Yaba, Lagos, and embarked on his acting journey on the theatrical stage. His performances left a lasting impression on numerous stage plays and films.

Owobo Ogunde is married to Adetutu Ogunde, a lawyer and human rights activist. They share two children, adding a heartwarming dimension to Owobo’s narrative.

With a net worth of $500,000, Owobo Ogunde earns the majority of his wealth from his acting pursuits.

Owobo, who strongly resembles his father, Hebert Ogunde, shared that he learned storytelling, cultural importance, and hard work from his father. He’s proud to carry on his father’s legacy by contributing to Aníkúlápó, a film celebrating Yoruba culture and mythology.

A Ghanaian media personality, Michael Houston, who recently got backlashed for marrying two women on the same day, has defended his actions while revealing the implications of his decision.

Houston recently got married to Felicity and Khadijah in an elaborate event, leading to backlash from netizens.

Clearing the air, Houston took to his page on Wednesday to defend his actions, adding that he lost many friends because of his decision.

He wrote, “For the sake of my followers out there, I will do a little explanation. I got married to these two beautiful women, Adepa Fel Houston and Deejah Houston, and the country went berserk because people couldn’t understand how I made that happen, with many ridiculing the whole show.

“Well what y’all didn’t know was, I had two different engagements seperately at each respective family house, and all customary rights for marriage was done to the very last note. We had mini ceremonies with religious leaders blessing the unions.

“Then I decided to have a grand one which I made public to announce to the world that my home is now blessed with two queens.

“Little did I know i will be labeled as a man who didn’t respect women. How do i spend a fortune to disrespect a woman by marrying them??”

Stating the effect of his decision, Houston added, “I lost many friends due to this marriage and made even more friends after, I am way more than capable of maintaining and making my wives happy and I seek no validation from anyone. It's my choice and their choice.

“If you are capable and want to make such a choice too, then shoot at it. If not then, do what your strength can.”

I need to clear the air, I am a virtuous and hardworking woman and i wouldnt allow my hardwork ,my tenacity, my name, my sweat and my truth to be robbed ..

I had sealed with the King of Fuji Music independently years before the burial party and as a norm after the birth of a group called CGI(Connecting Grassroots Initiatives) I had to officially invite the Pioneer of the group in person of
MC Oluomo..I can categorically say that i have never had a romantical relationship with him prior or during the party i just had .

It took me 7 years to give my mother a final befitting burial and which i am proud to do solely ...The philanthropist gave me money to support in the presence of the committee a day to the party. (group members can testify ) Everything i have done single handedly is always tagged to him and somehow robs me of my hardwork and my sweat i kept quiet for long as people know him to be a philantropist but i am boldly saying that i do not have any romantical relationship with him and this does not cancel the fact that he has been a good person to me.

This is not to say that i did not receive gifts and supports from friends and colleagues like everyone would .. As for the adorable father of my children who has refused to say a word on our relationship status and i decided to respect his opinion but when i see the undeserved empathy he gets in a mutual agreement, i feel tempted to talk but still for the sake of the beautiful kids,i would keep mute until he finds an appropriate time to do otherwise

I do not have control over people's joy as everyone came to the party joyfully and we ended it on a good note. Once again, i appreciate everyone who showed me concern ,called me and told me not to say a word.

I am sorry i dissapointed you all but i refuse to be robbed by false news and rumours.

To rumour mongers and their fans, its always sweet and fun until it gets to your turn, i sincerely hope you maintain same energy by then..

I am omowunmi ajiboye I will never be bullied to silence I will never be pressured into accepting what i know nothing about If i lie, let God judge me
