A POEM, AN ELEGY WRITING IN HONOR OF OUR FALLEN HEROES IN THE NIGERIA ARMED FORCES.
It was a Clarion call to defend our dear nation,
Many didn't expect what they saw,
From training depot (camp) to the battlefield,
From battlefield to the graves,
Killed by enemies snipers and IEDs,
Many were captured, and became prisoners of war (P.O.W)
Many were slaughtered alive with the daggers of warlords
Leaving behind struggling families
Children with no one to call a father
Children with no one to call a mother
Wife's with no one to call a husband
Husband's with no one to call a wife
Songs of lamentation smoke all round the barracks,
Many who managed to comeback home came with PTSD, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, depression and hallucinations,
Some with missing limb,
Some with one eye or totally blind,
Such is the misery of a military personnel,
Let's stand up and honor our soldiers,
Both serving and retired,
May God almighty be with you for defending us,
Long live the Nigerian Armed Forces
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria

The plight of widows in some villages
Fathers/Daughters closeness (Oedipus complex)
Village life is sweet and simple, they don't need swimming pool, sweet home sweet home
