unfortunately not everyone shares this belief, hence the natural hazards we see today, the rate of deforestation and desertification is becoming alarming and the innocent plants and animals dying every day is disheartening. You are a different human, and we cannot appeal to them but having someone who can is a very big help for us.
As I watched Mazula talk, I could feel its pains and I began to understand the effect of the human actions against the animal and plant kingdom. I had promised to do my best. Planting trees anywhere I can and rearing animals for posterity.
I was shown around the enchanted forest and I took time to understand and admire the beauty of nature, found out its secret and as well enjoy the serene environment. It was too beautiful to be abandoned. The sparkling river flowing at the middle of the forest reflecting like mirrors and to think pearls, seashells and other aquatic treasures were there in abundance. I got to really understand that God did not just create the heavens and the earth but brought paradise to earth.
As I walked through the forest admiring the beautiful marigolds, ixora, roses and lilies I started wondering why nature holds some many mysteries, I turned to ask Mazula about the secret mysteries of nature and felt cold water dripping on my face, as I raised my hand to wipe it , I heard that familiar sweet voice.“Adanna, stand up, your mates have gone to the river”, I stood up and realised it has all been a dream, my mother Ugodiya stared at me as if I had gone crazy because I started crying. She knew me to be a lover of nature and how happy I am to go to the river, hence, her confusion.
How could I start explaining to my mother that I had been in dreamland, and a beautiful one at that? How I saw a magical creature and the assignment I was given, my village is not even Amapu but Umudim, and I am not Emerald but Adanna Uzondu. I stood up, cleaned the house and took my bucket as I headed to Uzoaro river.
