MohBad Was Brought In Dead, Didn't Die In Our Facility, Lagos Hospital Releases Statement

Perez Medcare Hospital, where singer Ilerioluwa Aloba aka MohBad was allegedly taken to, has released a statement concerning the singer's death.

In the statement shared on its Instagram page on Monday night, the hospital stated that the singer was brought in dead at the hospital.

The hospital also debunked rumours that the singer was admitted into the hospital.

The statement partly read, "The attention of the management of Perez Medcare Hospital has been drawn to the misleading and false information being circulated in some social media platforms that Mr. Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (AKA Mohbad) died in our medical facility.

"We consider it pertinent to put on record that at about 04:30pm on the 12th of September 2023, the lifeless body of Mr. Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (AKA Mohbad) was brought to our medical facility and our medical team immediately sprang into action and after assessment, it was discovered that there was no sign of life, no central or peripheral pulse, no heartbeat, no recordable vital signs and his pupils were fixed and dilated.

"On attempting CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), rigor mortis (stiffening of some parts of the body in relation to death) was observed and the persons who brought him to our facility were informed that it was a case of BID (Brought in dead).

"Upon enquiry about the circumstances leading to the emergency, our team was informed that the deceased was being treated at home by a nurse and that she administered injections on him.

"Our team thereafter advised that the body be taken to the nearest Government Hospital where he can be deposited in the morgue.

"Let it be known that Mr. Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (AKA Mohbad) was not a patient of Perez Medcare Hospital and was never admitted at our hospital at any material time whatsoever.

"Also, the nurse who was said to be administering treatment on him at home is not a staff of Perez Medcare Hospital and the video of the medical facility circulating In the media space in which the late Mr. Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (AKA Mohbad) is seen alive and receiving treatment is not Perez Medcare Hospital."

Late Nigerian musician, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as MohBad, “he did not know that the harvest would come, and that he would soon be cut down at the prime of youth,” Tunde Bakare has stated.

According to the Independent, Pastor Bakare, stated this while preaching in Leicester, United Kingdom at a church event on Sunday, September 24, adding that the late MohBad was associating with “evil” people while he was alive.

While speaking on the theme, ‘Harvest’, Bakare, the running mate of Muhammadu Buhari in the 2011 presidential election said;

“My wife and I listened to a tape last night on MohBad. How many of you know MohBad? The Nigerian artiste who di£d at 27? MohBad.

When he was drinking and smoking and associating with evil men, he did not know that the harvest would come so soon and that he would soon be cut down at the prime of youth." Bakare was quoted as saying by the Independent.

I am not blaming him, I am just telling you. Is MohBad a good name? Moh Bad.

There was a young man older than I am. He was a driver and his nickname was Èsù (devil). Everywhere he went, people hailed him as Èsù and he would acknowledge them.

Personal trainer hospitalised after 3kg weight got stuck on his manhood in a bid to make it bigger

A personal trainer suffered a p***s injury when he attempted to enlarge his manhood by lifting weights.

The 24-year-old man from India ended up with his p***s stuck in a metal plate weighing roughly 3kg.

The unnamed man's case is detailed by medics in the journal Urology Case Reports.

The man believed he could grow the muscles of his p***s like every other muscle so he devised a dangerous plan.

He inserted his p***s into the hole of the weight plate while it was flaccid before getting himself hard. Then he attempted to lift the weight using his erect p***s.

Urologists said he "ignored" what was at first "mild" pain and swelling, and continued the exercise in “excitement”.

However, things soon got extremely painful.

The medics wrote: "After some time, when the intensity of pain and swelling increased in the p***s, he tried to remove the weight plate but couldn't do so... He panicked and decided to visit the doctor."

The personal trainer finally went to the hospital two whole hours after first putting his p***s in the hole. He was accompanied by relatives as he went to the hospital.

His manhood was described as being "incarcerated".

Painkilling gel, drugs and even surgical efforts were deployed to reduce the swelling before medics eventually managed to slide the plate off.

Pe**le incarceration, also known as pe**le strangulation, occurs when the blood supply to the p***s is blocked by an object or body part.

The spokesperson of the Lagos state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, has said that there is no underhand dealing in the investigation being carried out into the controversial death of 27-year-old singer, Mohbad.

In a post on his X handle, Hundeyin said the autopsy carried out on Mohbad was done by some of the best forensic pathologists in the country, in the presence of family members.

''As assured by the CP, the autopsy was promptly carried out, by some of the best forensic pathologists in the country, in the presence of family members.

While we await the result, we urge everyone to remain calm and confident in the process. There is absolutely no underhand dealing, as feared by some concerned persons.

In the meantime, other aspects of the investigation are progressing well. '' Hundeyin said

Police officer caught on tape assaulting man in Rivers state arrested

The Nigerian Police Force has arrested a police officer seen in a viral video assaulting an unidentified man in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, with two of his colleagues.

Over the weekend, the video showing one of the police officers flogging the man along the Port Harcourt East-West Road, Emouha Junction, went viral.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi while reacting to the viral video, condemned the action of the officer.

In an update shared on his handle on Monday evening, April 10, Adejobi said the officers involved in the act have been arrested and they will be transferred to the force headquarters today.

“These men have been arrested, and their commander will personally bring to the Force Headquarters tomorrow Tuesday(today) for further actions. They are 3 in number, attached to RRS, Rivers State. Their action does not portray the police in a good light at all.

It is still to buttress my point that whatever a policeman does is personal, not systemic. I wonder how a man, a reasonable man, would be flogging or slapping a grown-up man in that manner. So barbaric and unpolice.''

In his congratulatory message, Obi referred to Adebanjo as ‘’Daddy.'' Recall that Obi trended a few weeks ago when a purported telephone conversation of him and the senior pastor of Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo went viral. Obi was mocked on social media for referring to the clergyman as ‘’Daddy''. He however denied the accusations.

APC expels ex-aide of President Muhammadu Buhari

Ita Enang, a former special adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari has been expelled by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom state for alleged “anti-party activities”.

The state working committee of the APC led by Stephen Ntukekpo, chairman of the party, ratified the ward’s recommendations expelling him in a letter dated January 24.

This followed recommendations from Enang's ward, Eastern Ward 2 in Ibiono Ibom LGA of the state.

The letter read;

“The anti-party activities among others include his indulgence with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Akwa Ibom State, and his willful but unlawful disobedience of the directives of our great party, the APC.

“After a free and fair gubernatorial primary election conducted by the party which he lost without showing a good spirit of sportsmanship, Senator Ita Solomon Enang had engaged in endless litigation against the candidate who won and the party.

“In the process, fully doing the bidding of the PDP to put a clog in the wheel of our progress as a party. The clandestine meetings he holds with the opposition party, the PDP, and after such meetings, drumming support for them, are not without notice by his vigilant ward and chapter officers of our great party.

“Consequently, I write on behalf of the state working committee (SWC) to ratify the decision of the disciplinary committee of the All Progressives Congress; that, Senator Ita Solomon Enang, be and is hereby expelled from the All Progressives Congress.”

Fire razes phone plaza in Anambra market

A mobile phone plaza opposite Eke Awka Market in Anambra State capital, Awka, has been razed down by fire around 7.28pm on Tuesday, January 24.

The Nation reported that the fire which was caused by a power surge, destroyed mobile phones and other accessories worth millions of naira.

Eyewitnesses said aside phone accessories that were destroyed in the inferno, some of the roofing sheets of the building were also affected by the fire.

Anambra Fire Chief, Engr Martin Agbili confirmed the incident, saying the fire would have spread to other nearby buildings if not for the quick response of his men.

The Senate has confirmed President Muhammadu Buhari’s nomination of Mr Solomon Arase as Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC).

Arase’s confirmation, which took place Wednesday, Jan. 25, at plenary, was a sequel to the consideration of a report by the Committee on Police Affairs.

Chairman of the Committee, Sen. Jika Halliru (APC-Bauchi) presented the report.

Haillu said Arases’ nomination was in accordance with section 154, sub-section 1 of the 1999 constitution.

According to him, sections 2 A and B of the Police Service Commission Establishment Act 2001 also required the President to nominate Nigerians of proven integrity as members of the PSC.

He said findings from the screening by the committee showed that Arase meets the necessary legal requirements and is affirmed by the committee to be the proper person to be appointed as Chairman of PSC.

He said the committee was satisfied and impressed with how the nominee competently answered all questions posed to him.

Hilliru said that given the qualifications and relevant experience gained by Arase over the years, the committee recommends that the senate confirm his appointment as Chairman of PSC.

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state says the time of reckoning is coming for those who continue to insist that they can take everything to themselves in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The governor maintained that nobody can silence him from speaking against such injustice and the demand for the right thing to be done.

Governor Wike spoke at the inauguration of Emohua campus of Rivers State University, and the flag-off of staff quarters, performed by Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo State on Wednesday.

The Rivers State governor said such persons will definitely account for every wrong thing that they have done when the day of reckoning comes.

"That is why I am telling the people there, look, it cannot work. You can't take everything. If you take everything, it will purge you. So, better do the right thing now.

Don't sit there and think that you can muscle me and you can do everything, you can manipulate anything. You can think you have the number to make sure you take everything, but the time is coming when you will account for it."he said

Woman arrested for faking her kidnap four times to extort her mum

A 30-year-old woman has been arrested on the Spanish island of Tenerife after she allegedly faked her own kidnapping four times to extort her mother.

The woman allegedly sent her mother a video earlier this week that showed her blindfolded and smeared with blood.

In the clip shared by the Civil Guard, a man is seen behind her with a knife.

The woman is seen crying for help in the video, saying: "Mommy. They’ve kidnapped me. You can’t say anything to the police. If you do, they’ll kill me."

She goes on to say how her captors beat her and deprived her of food.

According to a statement by the Civil Guard, she told her mother the kidnappers would release her for 50,000 euros ($50,000).

This was not the first time the woman’s mother received such a disturbing message.

Investigators later found out that the mother previously made three payments totaling $45,000, also in response to threats on her daughter’s life.

Police discovered the evil plot after investigating the daughter’s partner, whose family was also involved in the kidnapping plot.

Within 24 hours of the initial investigation, authorities discovered that the daughter was unharmed and free to leave.

Police confirmed the arrest of the daughter and four co-conspirators at a slot-machine casino on September 5.

Civil Guard officers reportedly found the fake blood and knife used in the video with the group.

All five face charges of extortion, among other offenses.

Nigerians to pay more for phone calls and data in new FG tax

The federal government is set to implement five per cent inclusive excise duty on telecommunications services in Nigeria, a move that will make Nigerians pay 12.5 per cent tax on telecommunications services.

Minister of Finance Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed made the announcement on Thursday July 28, at a stakeholders’ forum on implementation of excise duty on telecommunications services in Nigeria.

Speaking at the event organized by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Ahmed who was represented by the Assistant Chief Officer of the Ministry, Frank Oshanipin, said the five per cent excise duty has been in the Finance Act 2020 but was not implemented.

The delay in its implementation according to the Minister, was as a result of government’s engagement with stakeholders.

She said;

“Payments are to be made on monthly basis, on or before 21st of every month.

“The duty rate was not captured in the Act because it is the responsibility of the president to fix rate on excise duties and he has fixed five per cent for telecommunication services which include GSM.

“It is public knowledge that our revenue cannot run our financial obligations, so we are to shift our attention to non oil revenue.

“The responsibility of generating revenue to run government lies with us all.”

What is Monkeypox?
The monkeypox virus causes monkeypox. It belongs to a family of variola viruses, the virus that causes smallpox. Monkeypox symptoms are similar to smallpox symptoms but milder. It was first discovered in 1958 in monkeys, but the first human case was found in Congo in 1970.

How many kinds are there?
There are two kinds, West African and the Congo basin kind. The current outbreak is from the West African Type

Can it kill me?
Deaths from it are rare, 99% of people who get infected are likely to survive. People with weak immune systems however might die from it.

What are the symptoms of monkeypox?
Symptoms of monkeypox can include:

Fever
Headache
Muscle aches and backache
Swollen lymph nodes
Chills
Exhaustion
A rash that can look like pimples or blisters that appear on the face, inside the mouth, and on other parts of the body, like the hands, feet, chest, ge****ls, or a**s. The rash goes through different stages before healing completely. The illness typically lasts 2-4 weeks.
Sometimes, people get a rash first, followed by other symptoms. Others only experience a rash.

Symptoms usually appear one to two weeks after infection.

If I have these symptoms, what do I do?
See a healthcare provider if you notice a new or unexplained rash or other monkeypox symptoms.
Remind the healthcare provider that monkeypox is circulating.
Avoid close contact (including intimate physical contact) with others until a healthcare provider examines you.
Avoid close contact with pets or other animals until a healthcare provider examines you.
If you’re waiting for test results, follow the same precautions.
If your test result is positive, stay isolated until your rash has healed, all scabs have fallen off, and a fresh layer of intact skin has formed.
How is it spread from person to person?
You can get it if you directly contact the rash of an infected person. Face-to-face contact also, kissing, s*x, and even cuddling. Infected pregnant women can also transfer it to their unborn babies. Additionally, touching items that have touched the infected rash of a person can also infect you. Eating the flash of an infected animal can also infect you

How can I prevent getting infected?
Wash your hands often with soap and water or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
Avoid close, skin-to-skin contact with people who have a rash that looks like monkeypox.
Do not touch the rash or scabs of person with monkeypox.
Do not kiss, hug, cuddle or have s*x with someone with monkeypox.
Do not share eating utensils or cups with a person with monkeypox.
Do not handle or touch the bedding, towels, or clothing of a person with monkeypox.
Vaccination of people who have been exposed or are at risk of getting infected

Can Monkeypox be treated?
Currently, there are no specific treatments for it, but other drugs used to treat similar viruses can be used to treat it

Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly willing to take a big pay cut in order to exit Old Trafford this summer.

The Portuguese legend is willing to take a 30% pay cut, according to Ben Jacobs, in order to get a transfer, and it has been revealed that he is willing to join Atletico Madrid, arch-rivals of former club Real Madrid.

Earlier this month, Ronaldo requested a transfer from United if any club comes for him.

In order to fast-track the intended exit, Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes has reportedly been touting his services to Europe's top clubs.

Diego Simeone's Atletico are the latest big club to be linked with the 37-year-old, but they have distanced themselves from Ronaldo.

Documents an INEC insider shared with him which has been reproduced here "show that the APC didn't notify INEC of its intent to conduct its primary election 21 days before its convention. Section 82 of the Electoral Acts says the penalty for this infraction is outright disqualification of the candidates of political parties." Writes Farooq.

Ronaldo has remained in Portugal with his family after being given permission to miss the first leg of the tour to Bangkok, where United will face Liverpool on Tuesday, July 12.

According to Mail Online, the club will move on to Melbourne and Perth on Wednesday, and the board have accepted there would be no point flying Ronaldo out if he is not ready to return by next week.

United are hopeful that Eriksen will sign as a free agent in time to join the tour in Australia after undergoing a more stringent medical due to the cardiac arrest he suffered last summer.

Man, 31, gets life in prison for killing his 28-year-old pregnant wife

A Missouri man has been sentenced to life in jail for killing his wife.

Beau Rothwell, 31, received the life sentence with no chance of parole in the slaying of his wife of four years Jennifer Rothwell, 28, who was pregnant at the time.

Jennifer had searched on her phone "what to do if your husband is upset you are pregnant" before she went missing in 2019.

Her body was found badly beaten a week after she was reported missing by Beau Rothwell.

Jennifer was six weeks pregnant at the time of her murder.

At trial, Beau admitted to killing his wife, but insisted it was not planned and rather happened during a heated argument over an affair he was having with another woman, in hopes of being found guilty of a lesser manslaughter charge

He testified he hit his 28-year-old wife with a mallet in November 2019. He confessed to striking the back of her head with a mallet, which sent her stumbling towards their home's garage. He said he followed her and continued to attack her, ultimately killing her.

Rothwell then attempted to cover up the murder. He bought cleaning supplies and attempted to bleach his dead wife's blood from the house. He drove her car to an intersection and abandoned it there, and tossed a blood-stained tarp and the cleaning supplies away together in a nearby dumpster.

Rothwell said he went into "panic mode" in the aftermath of the murder.

He dumped her naked body in the woods off Highway 61, then reported her missing, sent concerned texts to her cellphone, and took part in a search party.

Prosecutors argued the husband was a careful planner, showing texts between him and another woman in the months leading up to the murder and a list of pros and cons he compiled on whether he should leave his wife.

He was also seen on camera buying cleaning products a day before Jennifer Rothwell went missing, police previously said.

Beau Rothwell was found guilty of first-degree murder and lesser charges earlier in April.

He was sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole on Friday, July 8.

"We issued this case of murder first and as was stated in sentencing today, we never made any other offers. That was not an option. We felt that this individual needed to be held accountable for his actions and that's what we were intent on doing," said St Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Wesley Bell, according to the television station.

Beau Rothwell apologized to his late wife's family during his sentencing hearing.

He said: "To Jennifer’s family, words cannot describe how sorry I am. This should have never happened."

Asari Dokubo, a former Niger Delta militant, on Tuesday, said the Obidient movement of Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), is a futile one “because it is going nowhere”.

Speaking in a Facebook Live monitored by our correspondent, Dokubo said Obi does not have the pedigree to match co-contenders, Atiku Abubakar and Bola Tinubu.

He tackled the former Anambra State governor on the recent release of some documents that showed he rejected plots of land offered to him by the Anambra State Housing Development Corporation (ASHDC) during his tenure as governor.

According to Dokubo, Obi is lying to the public.

“How would you compare Obi with Tinubu or Atiku? What is his antecedent? Lies. You are showing documents. Who showed that you rejected the lands? All these small small [sic] scams, who dem wan do naw [sic]?” Dokubo said.

Meanwhile, the Peter Obi Support Network has called for the immediate discontinuation of the negotiations and alliance between the LP and the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP).

Acting Accountant-General of the Federation removed over alleged corruption weeks after predecessor got suspended for alleged N80bn fr@ud

The Federal Government has replaced Mr. Chukwuyere N. Anamekwe as the acting Accountant-General of the Federation (AGF), TheCable is reporting.

He was replaced two weeks ago with AGF Mr. Okolieaboh Ezeoke Sylvis, a former TSA (Treasury Single Account) Director. The Nation learnt that Anamekwe’s replacement followed allegations that he was being investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

It was also gathered that the government was not comfortable with his revelation that it was borrowing to pay salaries.

Anamekwe was appointed acting AGF on the May 22. He made the controversial remark on government borrowing to pay salaries on June 14. He was replaced seven days after.
