WHAT DRIVES YOUR PASSION AND INNER MOTIVATION?

As for me, I find my motivation in what the majority says is "not possible."

I find an inner push when I discover there is a gap that needs to be leveled up.

When I joined Edit-a-thon, there was no other lady in the group. We were about 4 guys, and I made up the fifth person and the only lady.

If my inner motivation hadn't been strong enough, I would have left that group on the first day.

At one point, some of the guys I initially relied on decided to discontinue with us.

Several people even suggested that I should quit, saying it wasn't going to be possible to go through such a marathon as the only lady.

I accepted their advice but still moved on with the project without any second thoughts.

What is that one unique thing that drives your passion?

What is that special reason that makes you stay positive?
Find it and nurture it.

When you recognize that one unique thing that drives your passion, then you have found yourself.

This is to remind you again that I am ready to embark on 180 hours of non-stop editing of articles on Wikipedia to break the Guinness World Record.

This event is coming up on November 2024, a few months from now, in Lagos State, Nigeria.

We are still recruiting people who are ready to represent their states in this marathon.

And, as of now, 11 states have been represented to celebrate Nigerian culture and heritage on Wikipedia.

IF IT IS NOT COMPARABLE, THEN DON'T COMPARE.

Before you decide to compare anything, make sure the things you are comparing are fit to be compared.

Comparison has kìlled many dreams.

It has caused many people to withdraw from school.

It has diminished many businesses.

You are Nigerian, and you are comparing yourself with Bill Gates, saying he dropped out of school yet became successful.

Now, my question is, does this comparison even make sense?

Yes, Bill Gates dropped out, but do you know the skills he acquired early enough that enabled him to navigate through life?

Do you care to know how old he was when he began working on his intellectual development and fostered a love for learning and exploration?

Do you care to know the resources, advanced materials, and educational opportunities he had access to?

After nursery school, he made it through secondary school and dropped out in University. And you think this is the same person you should compare yourself with?

Someone who has been exposed to the real world, technology (the future), and gathered enough momentum even at the age of 6, figuring out who he is and what he wants out of life early enough.

You, who are still trying to understand what life has for you and your strengths, feel this is worth comparing yourself with?

I always feel so bitter and hurt each time I hear some people explain why they shouldn't continue with their studies or take their studies seriously anymore after all Bill Gates (the co-founder of Microsoft), Mark Zuckerberg (founder of Facebook), and Henry Ford (founder of Ford Motor Company) dropped out yet still became successful in life.

Forgetting that the fact you are from this country is already 1:0 against you.

Now, note that I'm not saying that people in this part of the world can't drop out of school and still become successful. No, I'm not saying that.

My focus is before you decide to compare yourself or compare anything, make sure it is comparable.

Don't pick a child who is struggling to spell "man" in primary school and compare him with a child who has been given access to explore at their own pace, think abstractly, with the right facilities early enough.

Don't do that!

Don't compare yourself with anybody.

Don't give up because others have given up and still made it in life.

Don't rush life; follow the process and enjoy it.

After all, it's what makes us different and unique.

Why are only ladies ready to represent Akwa Ibom State to break the world record?

I received this question when I visited one of the great personalities in Akwa Ibom State yesterday (name withheld).

He was quite interested to know the reason behind that, and at the same time, he was excited to learn that we are determined to do this.

It was a productive moment with him and his team, and he was so enthusiastic about the movement. I know he is looking forward to seeing this become a reality.

I've received messages like this before, but I'm moved to share this one after taking permission from the sender.

I didn't realize that my impact here has reached this far, to the point that people would be sending messages like this to me.

I can vividly remember the last time Madam Joy Ubani called me to express how impactful my message had been to her.

It was indeed something that got me thinking, especially having received such a call from someone I've never met before.

At this point, I don't want to say much, but I know it's absolutely a call to do more.

I replied, "Yes," though I was skeptical.

I never knew that the news had been circulated to a point where people I don't even know are aware.

In her words, she said, "I love your zeal and determination. I will be proud to tell people that I know you."

I felt so emotional and empowered at the same time.

As our team lead always tells us, the Edit-a-thon is going to be massive. I can't doubt him.

I really believe in his vision. Edit-a-thon is the next big event that will challenge millions of youths out there, to keep climbing the ladder, until they reach the global stage.

Edit-a-thon will bring the spirit of oneness and unity to our country, as this will be the very first time such a concept will be happening.

My true 'why' is what keeps me on track for the upcoming longest Edit-a-thon Guinness World Record attempt.

There are times when thoughts like, "Are you sure you can do this?" sneak into my mind. However, when I deeply reflect on my true 'why,' I feel empowered.

I'm putting in energy for the Edit-a-thon as if my life depended on it to ensure its success.

This event brings me joy each time, especially considering the fact that we will have representatives from all over the federation to represent their states; it's indeed a beautiful concept.

The journey has been an amazing one so far and we enjoy the process.

There was this particular day when I stumbled upon a word that seemed very new to me.

So I quickly checked its meaning in my dictionary.

The next day, I started seeing that word everywhere online.

I was amazed and asked myself, "Isn't this the same word I looked up yesterday?"

Today, I noticed it in almost four posts. This made me think deeply because I was surprised I hadn't noticed the word before.

I realized that you only see, experience, and get what you look for.

You only allow yourself to notice what you pay attention to.

In reality, this is how the Law of Attraction really works.

That's why when you “think” of something, it seems like you're magically drawing it into your life.

A friend of mine once mentioned a particular car model she had never seen anyone driving in town. The next day, she said she started seeing that car model in various colors.

In reality, she was just noticing what was already there.

It's not that the word or the car model wasn't available for me or my friend to see; it's because we didn't pay attention to it.

When you instruct your brain to look for things you want, you'll begin to see them.

In fact, the object of your desire has probably always been around you, but your mind and eyes weren't open to "seeing" it.

It wasn’t there before or accessible to you until your thoughts focused and directed your mind to see it.

If you don’t know what to look for, you certainly won't find it.

Whatever your mind is thinking internally is what it will focus on, and suddenly you start noticing it more often.

When you define your goals, you give your brain something new to focus on.

I set up Facebook ads by myself, and it was approved. The ads is up and running right now.

Here is the full gist:

Over the years, I refused to attempt running Facebook ads by myself.

I never wanted to involve myself in setting it up.

I believed that I would fail, and my account would be banned, no matter what.

All these fears and uncertainties arose from what I used to hear about Facebook ads.

And the negative feedback I heard from people about Facebook ads.

How Facebook would ban their accounts with money in them.

So, hearing all this and knowing it is a reality, I never wanted to be added to the number.

So for this reason, I had to pay someone to handle it for me, which was quite productive. But funnily enough, Facebook still banned the account.

Here is the message I derived from this.

The fact is that most of the time, we often allow the experiences of others to hold us back.

We easily attract to ourselves what is not our reality based on what people tell us and their experiences.

We refuse to make a decision towards achieving that goal because we feel we are going to fail since Mr. A had already tried and failed. Just the way I believed that my ads account would definitely be banned if I tried.

We believe so much in people than we believe in ourselves and conclude that life must always treat them right. Just the way I trusted the person that used to run the ads for me, yet Facebook still banned the account.

It is high time we stop sharing and claiming people's difficulties as our own.

Let's stop underrating what we are capable of achieving if we dedicate our minds to it.

Let's believe that we can always rewrite a tricky story and make it worth reading.

Stop sharing others' bad experiences, stop attracting them to yourself by default.

You can definitely make a difference.
