Few days to leave office, president Buhari seek approval to borrow $800m from world Bank.

Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari has asked the senate to approve a request to borrow $800 million from the World Bank.

Buhari’s request was presented in a letter read by Senate President Ahmad Lawan on the floor of the upper legislative chamber, the senate on Wednesday, May 10.

The president said the funds would be used as additional financing of the National Social Safety Net programme.

Buhari said if the request is approved, N5,000 will be transferred to about 60 million poor Nigerians which would stimulate the informal sector and improve health and education.

Federal Government spend $1.2million to hire buses that will evacuate Nigerians from Sudan under 72hrs window.

The federal government have only 72hrs Window to safely evacuate our citizens from Sudan. And the minister says the government have spent $1.2million on hiring 40 buses for the evacuation exercise.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, and the Minister of State, Zubairu Dada, made this known while speaking with newsmen after the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Srate House, Abuja.

Onyeama said: “$1.2 million is what we’re being charged for all the 40 buses. We have huge transporter luxury buses made available to us to transport to the Egyptian border.

He said "because of the risks involved and so many other things, a lot of people are going to also take advantage and hike up the price. It was also difficult procuring these buses. But we had to do it because you know, Nigerian lives matters for us.”

Minister of State Dada says he is optimistic that they will utilize the 72hrs window to safely evacuate as many Nigerians as possible giving priority to women and children.

According to him no Nigerian life has been lost so far and he is hopeful that non will be lost. He added that the challenge has been securing permissions from the sudanese government and now they have all necessary permits.

Nigerians who are still in the war torn Sudan will be evacuated to Egypt from where the Director General of National Emergency Management Agency NEMA will be coordinating their return back home.

R-Kelly's Concert in Prison: Here are the Facts

The singer - whose real name is Robert Sylvester Kelly, is currently serving over 50 years in jail for various criminal offenses including s*xual offenses against Minors and also due to face s*xual misconduct charges Minnesota have been trending on social media for an alleged concert with inmates.

The internet went abuzz with viral photos and news spreading across social media, primarily within African countries showing that R. Kelly, the imprisoned R&B singer, held a concert for fellow inmates in prison.

These images triggered enormous debates and a profusion of opinions on the internet. After intensive findings Legbo news team unearth that the information is inaccurate and the pictures are AI-generated.

The singer who was himself the victim of child s*x abuse, and detailed in his autobiography how he was r***d by a female family member when he was eight years old, disappointingly inflicted same traumas of abuse on many others which led to his imprisonment in 2022.

The accounts went back to the start of his career in the 1990s, with many centring on the predatory pursuit of teenage girls.

In 2022, he was jailed for 30 years after being found guilty of eight counts of s*x trafficking and one of racketeering in a New York court.

Months later, he was convicted of child s*xual abuse in a second federal trial in Chicago.

R-Kelly's great career, multiple honours, wealth and recognitions could not save him from facing the weight of the law and certainly cannot afford him exclusive privileges such as holding a mega concert in prison now.

The once reputable famous star still languishes within prison walls and did not hold any concert as reported.
