The only people in this world that have school for money making are the Igbos. In Igbo land, you chose either to go to school to learn English or you go to school to learn money. Those who chose to learn English for many years return to seek for jobs from those who chose to go and learn money.

Meanwhile a few Igbos choose both, so they go to school to learn English and afterwards, they start the school to learn money and become very successful businessmen and owners of industries.

When I talk about learning money, I am talking about the Igbo apprenticeship culture. Some begin this school as early as 11/12 years immediately after primary school. Others begin the school after secondary schools while few begin after university (higher institution). In this school of learning money, you don't pay school fees. It's a full time practical school with a little theory. The student instead is paid capital huge enough to set up his own business after learning for many years.

With this culture in Igbo land, poverty is defeated. This is designed in such a way that no hardworking Igbo man is ever poor except those who only learnt English. When I talk about learning English, I'm talking about those who only went to formal schools irrespective of what they learnt including the engineering students.

The Igbo money school teaches you how to control money, manage money and make money work for you.

Some of us tried to manage both schools together. I was learning a skill and the business of that skill while I was a student in the university. I actually started after secondary school but had to continue during holidays. So while other students went back home to rest, I returned to the shop to practice my skill with my boss (teacher) who happened to also be my senior cousin. Initially, my dad didn't like it because he's not an Igbo man and didn't understand why I should be learning a skill. Like many Ijaw men at that time, it was seen as a degrading thing like as if his son was learning a skill because he couldn't pay his fees for him. But I was only learning to improve myself and also improve my knowledge of business management.

I learnt the importance of both schools early enough and it helped me develop myself and thank God for my big brother who encouraged me to enroll for the skill development and business management.

What the Igbo soul wants is a space in this world where their innate desire to develop society and improve quality of human life can be expressed and Nigeria has proved over and again to be a stumbling block to that desire. The Igbo man is not looking for other people's wealth to rule over, all they are looking for is a space to manage their own wealth so the world can benefit from their wealth.

The Igbo man wants a country he can call his own where he and his business can be protected. Nigeria on the other hand have developed certain policies to render Ijaw wealth and seaport useless just to get at the Igbo man. We are all this together.

On the next episode, I will talk about the Ijaw wealth and how Nigeria is the cause of our poverty.

20 SANS line up for Obi, APC may hire 12

The Labour Party said it had engaged the services of at least 20 senior advocates of Nigeria to challenge the outcome of the February 25 presidential election on behalf of its presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
According to sources within the party, the lawyers drawn from different chambers were being furnished with materials that would be used as evidence in court.
