SPEAK TO YOURSELF

Psalms 42:11 (TPT), Ephesians 5:18-19
"So I say to my soul, “Don’t be discouraged. Don’t be disturbed. For I know my God will break through for me.” Then I’ll have plenty of reasons to praise him all over again. Yes, living before his face is my saving grace! *And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;"

Just like we speak our desires to God in prayer, and we speak to situations and things to declare and enforce God’s will over them, we must also speak to ourselves to renew our minds, to activate God’s will in our lives, and to align ourselves to what God has said concerning us.

In our first text above, David was speaking to himself. You must learn how to encourage yourself in the Lord like David did in 1Samuel 30:6. Practice talking yourself into the right mood and frame of mind by telling yourself what God says about you. Tell yourself who you are, where you are, what you have, and what you can do - in Christ, by Christ, through Christ, and with Christ. As you come under the influence of the Spirit while studying God’s word or praying, speak the mind of God to yourself. Declare your realities in God and program your mind and your life with God’s will for you.

After hearing about Jesus, the woman with the issue of blood told herself that she would touch Jesus’ garment and she would be healed, (Mark 5:27-28). What are you saying to yourself? Jesus said you would have whatsoever you say, (Mark 11:23). God has said He will never leave you nor forsake you, so that you may boldly say He is your helper and you will not be afraid of what man can do to you, (Heb. 13:5-6).

FAITH DECLARATION:

I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me. I am above only, the head and not the tail, the first and not the last.

SPEAK FAITH

2CORINTHIANS 4:13 (TPT, CEV, GNB)
We have the same Spirit of faith that is described in the Scriptures when it says, “First I believed, then I spoke in faith.” So we also first believe then speak in faith. *In the Scriptures it says, “I spoke because I had faith.” We have that same kind of faith. So we speak *The scripture says, “I spoke because I believed.” In the same spirit of faith we also speak because we believe.

The way you speak as a child of God has many implications for the way your life goes. As a child of God, you have the faith of God in you, but for that faith to produce results in your life, you must release it by speaking words of faith just like God. We live by faith (our realities in God) and not by sight (what our physical senses tell us), 2Cor. 5:7. Do not let what is happening around you make you speak words of fear or negativity. As you keep declaring the truth and your reality in God, the things happening around you will change, (Heb. 11:3).

You must always remember that you are different because of the life of God in you. Do not speak like everybody around you is speaking. Isaiah 8:11-12 (CEV) says, “The LORD took hold of me with his powerful hand and said: I'm warning you! Don't act like these people. Don't call something a rebellious plot, just because they do, and don't be afraid of something, just because they are.” Always speak faith; do not speak fear.

It is not enough for you to believe something; you must say what you believe. Jesus did not say you would have whatsoever you believe. He said you will have whatsoever you say because you believe it (Mark 11:23). Faith comes by hearing God’s word (the revelation of Christ), Rom. 10:17. Keep filling yourself with the revelation of Christ.

ACTION POINT:

RELEASE YOUR FAITH NOW AND SPEAK LIKE GOD; RELEASING HIS WILL, GLORY AND POWER INTO ALL AREAS OF YOUR LIFE.

IT SHALL NOT STAND

ISAIAH 7:5-7 (ESV), ISAIAH 54:15 Because Syria, with Ephraim and …Remaliah, has devised evil against you, saying, “Let us go up against Judah and terrify it, and let us conquer it … and set up the son of Tabeel as king in the midst of it,” thus says the Lord GOD: “‘It shall not stand, and it shall not come to pass. *Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.

Never let fear fill your heart because of any gang up or conspiracy against you. God is for you and no one can be against you. Just as God freely gave you Christ, together with Christ He has freely given you all things (including victory over that conspiracy) - Rom. 8:31-32. Even when it looks like what they are doing is prospering, know that God is going to turn it around for your good.

Haman’s conspiracy against the Jews did not stand. God turned it around for their good, and they became more blessed than before, (Est. 8:16-17). As Nehemiah made progress with rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem, Tobiah and Sanballat ganged up with people of 3 other nations and planned to attack them and hinder their work. Nehemiah and the Israelites prayed to God and mounted guard around the work, (Neh. 4:7-9). As they remained focused and continued the work, in fifty-two days, they finished the building of the walls by the help of God, (Neh.6:15-16). No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn. This is your inheritance as God’s servant, and you are righteous because of Him, (Isaiah 54:17). God has promised to never leave nor forsake you. Boldly declare that God is your helper and because of this never be afraid of what man can do to you, (Heb. 13:5-6).

FAITH DECLARATION:

BECAUSE GOD IS ON MY SIDE, NO CONSPIRACY, ENCHANTMENT OR DIVINATION CAN PROSPER OR PREVAIL OVER ME.

THE GATES OF HELL SHALL NOT PREVAIL OVER YOU

Matthew 16:15-18 (NLT)
"Then he asked them, “But who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Jesus replied, “You are blessed, Simon son of John, because my Father in heaven has revealed this to you.... Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it."

This year, you shall be more victorious than you have ever been in your life; and the secret of your victory will be the glorious transformations that will take place in your life because of the revelation of Christ. You will be strong in faith and you will walk in love more than ever before. The revelation of Christ makes you unstoppable. No evil or power of hell shall be able to stop or limit you. Whatever cannot stop or limit Christ can no longer stop or limit you. All things that are possible for Christ are now possible for you.

The state of the economy will not prevail over you. You live and operate by the wealth and economy of Heaven. Remember that you are a royal ambassador of Christ and God’s kingdom. Every resource needed for your life and assignment has been deployed to you. You enjoy divine protection. The angels of God always encamp around you and they minister to you and for you, (Psa. 34:7, Psa. 91:12, Heb. 1:14). Your testimony will continually be, “But thanks be to God, Who in Christ always leads us in triumph [as trophies of Christ’s victory] and through us spreads and makes evident the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere,” (2Cor. 2:14, AMPC). As you preach the Gospel, nothing will prevail over you or your ministry. Like never before, you will walk in divine dominion and authority in all areas of your life.

FAITH DECLARATION:

Christ is my life. As He is, so am I in this world. Whatever cannot prevail against Christ cannot prevail against me.

DO NOT BE DISTRACTED

PHILIPPIANS 3:13-15 (NLT) No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. Let all who are spiritually mature agree on these things. If you disagree on some point, I believe God will make it plain to you.

The way you see your pressing into Christ is very important. Stop seeing it as something to be casual andh lackadaisical about. See it as something you must be focused, determined, and diligent in carrying out. Something that your whole life depends on. Something that greatly pleases God.

There will be several distractions and discouragements along the way, but you must not allow any of them to derail you or slow you down. Wake up and redeem the time, (Eph. 5:14-17). Keep your eyes on Christ, (Heb. 12:2). Be deliberate about studying and listening to the revelation Christ (Matt. 17:5, 1Cor. 1:23-24). Fight the good fight of faith and lay hold of the eternal life God has called you to in Christ, (1Tim. 6:12). You are risen with Christ, so set your affections on things above (Col. 3:1-2). Press into the fullness of all you have in that position where you are seated with Christ in heavenly places. Never become proud because of what you achieve even in God. Thank God for it and move on to the greater things He has ahead for you. Do not let anything move you (Acts 20:24). Do not lose sight of the joy and hope laid before you (Heb. 12:2, Col. 1:21-23). Do not allow the challenges of life distract you from pressing into Christ. It is as you press into Christ that you will be more victorious in overcoming the issues of life.

PRAYER:

HEAVENLY FATHER, PLEASE HELP ME BY YOUR SPIRIT TO REMAIN FOCUSED ON CHRIST

PRESS INTO CHRIST

PHILIPPIANS 3:10-12 (NLT) I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death, so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead! I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me.

As believers in Christ, our goal is not to make Heaven; we are already citizens of Heaven. Heaven is our home. When we are done with our assignment on earth we will go back home. Our goal is to obtain the glory of Christ, (2Thes. 2:14). To walk in the fullness of the nature, power, and glory of Christ. This is why Christ gave His life for us and this is what He wants us to press into. Apostle Paul said he preached to make all men perfect (mature) in Christ; not to make Heaven. God wants us to occupy till He comes; not fold our hands and wait/hope for Heaven. As we become more like Christ, we will function more like Him and do more exploits for Him. Because of this, when we get to Heaven we will get more rewards, (Rev. 22:12).

Christ is what pleases God (Matt. 3:17). As our lives conform to Christ, our lives are more pleasing to God. God’s testimony of you is that it is the same life that is in Christ that is in you, (1John 5:11-12). When you are pressing into Christ, you are pressing into your real identity. For you are one with Christ now, (1Cor. 6:17, 1John 4:17). Christ is your life (Col. 3:4). We press into Christ by feeding on (studying) the revelation of who Christ is and all He has done for us, (Col. 3:16). We press into Christ by praying in line with this revelation and living our lives in line with this revelation.

ACTION POINT:

PRAY IN THE SPIRIT RIGHT NOW AND TELL GOD YOU WANT TO KNOW CHRIST
