*BIBLE READING* : Job 13-15

*TOPIC: UPHOLD INTEGRITY*

*TEXT* : "And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground." *1 Sam. 3:19*

The issue of integrity in the body of Christ calls for concern. Believers who are the light of the world should be examples of integrity to the world and not the other way round. The word of a believer should be his bond, he should be accountable for it. When I hear people say, "I prefer to do business with an unbeliever than a Christian, it pains my heart because it is absurd; it is an upside down arrangement. Rather if they are looking for men to place in top positions, in the society, they should seek for believers to occupy them because of their integrity.

We read of Joseph, and mention him often because of his integrity. He made tremendous impact in life of his master Potiphar, in the prison, and in the palace. He affected the life of Pharaoh and the entire Egypt positively. His fear for God was evident in all his dealings with people. What of Daniel and his friends Shedrach, Meshach and Abenego, from the way they held on to their principles in pleasing the Almighty God in the midst of the threat of death before them, you can tell that they men of integrity.

As disclosed in our anchor text, God did not allow any word of Samuel to fall to the ground; He honoured all. Why? It was because he was a man of integrity. In 1 Samuel 12:3 see his words before the entire congregation of the people of Israel, "Behold, here I am: witness against me before the LORD, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose as have I taken? or of whose hand have I received any bribe to blind mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it to you". Can you stand and declare such to people?

BIBLE READING: JOB 10-12

TOPIC: GUARANTEED SAFETY (PART 2).

TEXT: "But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil." Prov. 1-33

Leaning on one's understanding is the reason for many falling into evil rather than enjoying safety. Proverbs 3:5-6 therefore counsels, "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all love thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."
God is committed to directing our paths in safety. He knows the path of life and will lead us if we are willing to hearken to Him. No wonder the Psalmist declared confidently, "Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore." Ps. 16:11. If we can dwell in His presence, we will be sensitive to His leading. Severally God is speaking but many are not sensitive to His leading because they are preoccupied with other carnal things and are not in the Spirit. Safety is guaranteed where God has sent you, in what God commands you. When we move outside His leading, we expose ourselves to the adversary.
John the Baptist, had a divine message which when he focused on it, all was well. Even when he delivered it in the wilderness, people were trooping to hear him. He enjoyed safety despite the tone of his message as the forerunner of Jesus. Then Jesus came on the scene and the chapter of his message was over. Ideally, he would have joined Jesus' ministry whom he preached about as the Messiah or better still go to God to get another chapter of message, but he leaned on his own understanding and started preaching on marriage which made him a victim of Herodias.
I pray for you, you will not expose yourself to evil.

*THURSDAY 25TH MAY, 2023*

*BIBLE READING* : Esther 7-10

*TOPIC: FROM NOBODY TO SOMEBODY 4*

*TEXT* :"And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake." *Luke 5:6*

To move from nobody to somebody, you must give yourself to obeying divine instructions. There is always what God has commanded for one to do to move from irrelevance to relevance in life. When he instructs you to do something however it may seem to you, obey it. It may not be convenient to logical reasoning, but it is the passport to a life of significance.

In Luke chapter 5, a divine instruction came to Peter from Jesus to launch out into the deep, and let down his nets from a draught. Peter a professional and skillful fishermen had toiled all night, the best time to fish yet they caught nothing. But he had understanding of the person of Jesus whom he saw as a minister of the gospel for he had just used his ship to minister the word of God. So he knew it was a divine instruction. Therefore, he chose to obey saying, "nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net" vs 5. And when they did, they inclosed a great multitude of fishers; and their net brake. They then beckoned unto their partners which were in the other ship to come and help them. And they came and filled both ships so that they began to sink vs. 6-7.

God changes the level of his people by divine instructions. He is a God of principles, not an emotional or a sentimental God. There is always what He will instruct you to do to leave where you are to where you ought to be. In 2 kings 4 from verse one, one of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried unto Elisha that her late husband his servant was dead and the creditors had come to take herbtwo sons as bond men Elisha then said to her, what shall she and her household moved from being debtors to a prosperous life. If you will obey divine instructions, you will always be relevant.

*BIBLE READING* : Esther 4-6

*TOPIC: FROM NOBODY TO SOMEBODY 3*

*TEXT* :"When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven." *Mark 2:5*

When you first look at the statement of Jesus to the man sick of palsy, you will wonder why he addressed the sin issue and not his health. This is because at the root of most afflictions, which includes sickness and diseases, is the sin factor. When that is handled, health follow suit. Psalms 103:3 says, "Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;" When sin gives way, diseases loses legal ground. You are not permitted to be healed diseases. In John 5:14, Jesus said to the impotent man whom He healed by the pool, "Behold thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee".

If you therefore want to move from nobody to somebody, from a nonentity to a celebrity, you must of a necessity deal with sin. Sin is a polluter, a killer of destiny. It denies one his covenant rights empowering the afflictor over one's life. So, anything that will make you keep asking for forgiveness, cut it off. Ask for the help of the Holy Spirit to handle sin, with His help and your willingness to discipline yourself, the nature of sin which Christ took care of is destroyed in my life and you become dead to sin.

To live above sin, one disciplinary measure is to regularly feed yourself with God's word and obey it. "Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word" "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee" Psalms 119:9&11. I pray for you today, no more shall you be a candidate of sin.

BIBLE READING: GEN.28-30

TOPIC: "Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring to know his place" Job 38:12.

The question of our anchor text is for you child of God to awake out of your slumber and control the cause of your day. It is for you to wake up and engage the night in prayers shaping and ordering your day as God ordained it to be.
All of God's creation was very good Gen. 1:31. He made each day, for your rejoicing hence the Psalmist declared, "This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." Ps. 118:24. God has given the earth to man to dominate. Ps. 115:16. At creation, He established His purpose of making man and as such empowered him to take charge, Gen 1:28. And redemption has restored the redeemed man to his original place of dominion, but the adversary Satan, the devil still contends with him to continue his reign over the earth. Cast down into the earth with his angels alongside with him, he engages the best time for spiritual activities which is the night to control the day carrying out all sorts of devilish activities and issuing evil decrees against the redeemed man to divert, pervert, stampede or truncate his glorious destiny. He manipulates the elements of nature and forces ordained to work for man to work against him to make him suffer and deny the faith. But the redeemed conscious of the potency of the night and engages in prayers enforcing his dominion on earth always disarms him and controls the course of the day in his favour.
Child of God, you have what it takes to soar in unstoppable victory. So awake and command the morning on your prayer altar at night.

PRAYER:
My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, I receive more grace to awake and command the morning.
