Thomas Partey was everywhere today 🔥
“Yeah, definitely one of my better goals. It was one of those ones where when it leaves your foot you sort of have a good feeling And when I look up and see where it landed, I was so happy.
I always try and push myself to shoot more, a lot of times when I come here I like to do passes, I like to do crosses, but definitely when I’m in this area I know I can shoot from here, so today I went for it and it went well.”

Jurrien Timber on Instagram:
"A win to begin. 🔙🔜"
Mikel Arteta on how impressed he has been with Declan Rice’s leadership:
“He’s very natural. As you’ve seen today, I don’t know if it was after two minutes or 10, the way he’s moving, the way he’s coaching, the way he has integrated into that dressing room, I think he’s enjoying the position as well.
“He probably should have scored two goals today, so more of the same. He’s not thinking, he’s just acting and I’m really pleased with what he’s done.”

Mikel Arteta on Jurrien Timber’s injury and whether he was close to coming off at half-time:
“No, the officials, the doctors, they looked at him and they were happy to continue, him as well, but straight away in the second half the first action he made a movement and it was a bit funny so we took him straight out and now we have to assess him to see what he has.”

Good luck 💪
William Saliba: “I’m really, really happy. I’m not 100 per cent at the moment but I give everything to come back, because it’s been a long time.
“I didn’t play as I was injured, and I’m so happy to be with the team. The team and the staff helped me to get better and get back to my best.
“It’s always better [to play in front of our supporters]. You don’t feel pressure, you don’t feel any pain, it’s good.”
William Saliba on : “It was really good to start the season with a win. It’s never easy to win the first game in the league, and we have done a good game.
“Unfortunately, we conceded a goal in the last 10 minutes but it’s okay, we learn and will improve for the next game.
“It gives us confidence to start the season well. We know that we started last season well as well, so we want to keep going to win the second, third and fourth game etc.”

Arteta on Martinelli: "I saw something today that I really liked and I didn’t like so much vs Monaco. When he gave the ball away how he tracked back. When Gabi’s doing that backwards then forwards he’s one of the best players. When plays a different rhythm, no."

Saka on Instagram: “We’re back 🔴”
Declan Rice after the final whistle
Eddie Nketiah on his goal: “It was a great bit of skill by Martinelli to get through. When it came [to me], it was just about being calm & getting that half a yard & then obviously it was a good strike - happy it went in!”
Eddie Nketiah on a nervy finish: “Of course. We had a really good start, scored the two goals & obviously they crept back in, especially late on. It was a bit of a nervy finish but I think we defended really well & I think we deserved the three points.”
Eddie Nketiah: “Everyone wants to play & everyone needs to be ready to play, the manager’s got a tough decision & it’s down to us to make it hard for him. I was delighted to get the opportunity today & even happier to be able to contribute & get the three points.”

Bukayo Saka on dealing with pressure: “The key thing is to be ready when an opportunity presents itself. If you start thinking about it the moment it starts, that is already too late.
“I want to be the best and I prepare for that. I like the big moments and I have different tricks to take the pressure off of me. I am not sure I should tell you what they are. They are my little secrets!
“I do not know how to explain it, because I have built it up over years. Depending on mealtimes and kick-off time, I always have a nap before the game. Music? Not always, but yes, because that helps me feel better. But I have other things.”

Arsenal are planning new contract talks with academy star Amario Cozier-Duberry.
The 18-year-old midfielder has entered the final 12 months of his current deal in north London and is attracting interest from clubs in Belgium and the Netherlands.
Dutch sides Sparta Rotterdam, PSV Eindhoven and Vitesse Arnhem are all monitoring Cozier-Duberry’s situation, while Belgian club Gent are keeping tabs on him too.
Cozier-Duberry is happy at Arsenal, with whom he has played since the age of 14, and is regarded as an exciting youth prospect by academy coaches.

Final preparations ahead of season opener against Nottingham forest ✅
Declan Rice: “In the last four weeks, I’ve grown so much already and learned so much about football that I hadn’t seen before."
"I'm honestly seeing the game in a completely different way already. Tactically, on the ball, off the ball. I'm happy to know I'm learning so much because I'm trying to push myself to learn. Since the Community Shield, I feel I've taken a big step; everything is starting to click."
“I was blown away [by Arteta]; and working with him day-to-day, it’s just another level."
“Seeing how he works, how his mind operates, picking up stuff, seeing how he goes into detail on the opposition, and how he wants to improve us as players, individually and collectively, is really impressive."
“It’s just the finer details of what he goes into, so there are no excuses on matchday. You can’t say, ‘we’ve not worked on this or that'. You’re given everything and it’s literally down to you to go and perform. The finer details you go into are on another level, and I’ve never seen that before."
“From the moment I walked in the door, the thing that shocked me most is how much [winning] is drilled into the club, and the way the manager is drilling it into the players about winning, and not being far off being one of the best teams in the world."
"That's what excites me and that's why I came to Arsenal; to win things, to play under Mikel, and play with these players. It's such an exciting project to join.”
