The Time Is Now!
Chief Cletus Chibuzor Udebuani (Egbe Ana Agba Anyanwu) is the CEO of Unique Gardens and Parks Abuja, The CEO of Only You Event Center Abuja, The CEO of Clemson Farms Ltd, above all, he is the PRESIDENT GENERAL OF AMICHI DEVELOPMENT UNION(ADU) WORLDWIDE. His regime began at a time when insecurity was ravaging communities and hamlets across our neighborhoods and beyond, coupled with the seemingly incessant internal cricis orchestrated by some fifth columnists and their co-travellers in Amichi. He diplomatically overcame an election marred by dangerous internal politics and wranglings. In fact, what Chief Udebuani inherited was a town on the brink of disintegration and total collapse.
The challenges were enormous. He came on board with his team and faced the tasks head-on. More important on his list was the issue of insecurity. A town that was before now, steadily overrun by bandits and criminal elements from hinterlands, today, is enjoying relative calmness and peace. Though it didn't come cheap, 2 of the gallant officers paid the supreme price along the line, it did not deterr the president and the fearless AVG officers from continuing with the mandate of securing the lives and properties of Ndi Amichi. He restrategized, reorganized and repositioned the security architecture, and today, the result is evident. Big kudos to the men on the front line, led by their commander, and super thumbs up to all those supporting the security efforts in our community, especially ndi AMICHI AMAKA BROTHERS ASSOCIATION and others, and worthy of mention is Chief Eric Umeofia(Ikuku Oma Amichi) who last year made a donation of N5,000,000 and issued the cheque immediately. Special thank you to Ndi Amichi, businesses, schools, establishments that are regularly paying their security levy to make sure that the welfare of men and officers of our local AVG is prioritized. I encourage everyone to continue to support these men anywhere you see them on duty. They deserve everything they can get from us, because security is everyone's responsibility.
Chief Cletus and his team needs all the support from every onye Amichi, to make sure he fulfills his mandate. Today, every entry and exit points in Amichi and strategic passages across Amichi has been gated and secured. Things re getting better by the day. Festive periods are gradually returning to what it use to be, with more people coming home now to celebrate without fear.
Consistently for two years now, the president has prioritized the welfare of the elderly and the aged among us from his own personal pocket, providing them with cash gifts and other materials annually as a mark of his birthday celebration. Every village in Amichi has benefited from this charitable act.
During the October 2,2024 ADU General Meeting, a committee was inaugurated, charged with the task of rebuilding and reconstructing our one and only commercial heritage which is EKE AMICHI. This is an effort that has eluded successive governments over the years, but Chief Cletus showed purposeful leadership and political will and took the bull by the horn. The committee led by Comr Obinna Obichukwu (Nwajiugonnaya) has since swung into action, meeting consistently, working hard to make sure that the goal is achieved in record time. There is no better way to boost the socioeconomic diversity and increase the IGR of Amichi than getting Eke Amichi to compete favourably among other commercially viable markets across the state. The benefits cannot be overemphasized. A robustly functional daily market knows no bounds as to the retinue of developments it can attract to its host town. Mr President deserves serious commendation for taking this bold step. All Ndi Amichi home and in diaspora should rally round this committee to make sure they complete their task, for it is to the benefit of our motherland.
A homogenous town like ours with diverse interests sometimes can be difficult to govern truly, but Chief Udebuani has managed to navigate through successfully, and galvanized all and sundry to show commitment and zeal towards 'project Amichi', irrespective of political leaning. This is because the irrefutable fact remains that there is no other town we can call ours if not Amichi. His appearance and statement at the just concluded Amichi Amaka Brothers Association organized event showed a man who genuinely loves his people and want their progress above self.
I call upon all Ndi Amichi, both at home and in diaspora to come together, join hands and resources together, and continue to show commitment, support and solidarity to this government. I am sure we'll be better for it as a town by the time this administration winds down in the next few years. Arise, take action, the time is now!
