ANAMBRA 2021: NNEWI SHUT DOWN AS SENATOR UBAH FORMALLY DECLARES AMBITION
~ Insists A New Anambra Is Possible
Yesterday was a watershed in the history of old Nnewi Town as Distinguished Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah officially kicked off his "THANK YOU & DECLARATION TOUR" of the 21 Local Govt Areas in Anambra State.
He was ushered into the event arena by an excited and charged up crowd made up of party enthusiasts from the various support structures as well as others who came to witness the epoch making event.
It was indeed a glorious message of hope that sent excited shock waves across the length and breadth of the state as the Distinguished Senator took out time to thank the people of Nnewi North for always standing by him and went on to formally inform them about his intention to bring about a status quo change in the fortunes of Anambra if given the opportunity to pilot the state's affairs.
This news was received by thunderous chants of approval that reverberated across the entire Nnewi town.
The idea bearer who stormed the venue of the event in a mobile podium, the first of its kind in the political history of the state, was treated to a heroic welcome by the tumultuous crowd some of whom were seen shedding tears of joy while the women were spreading their wrappers on the ground amidst chants of "Ikemba ' !
Highlights of the occasion was the doling out of various gift items to lucky participants on a radio program on Authority 91.9FM the previous night with the Distinguished Senator.
Items such as Refrigerators, Deep Freezers, TV Sets, Grinding Machines, Blenders, etc, were distributed to lucky winners who couldn't hold back their joy at the surprise gifts.
Yesterday marked a new dimension in the political history of the state as the Senator, in an unprecedented move, kicked off his Governorship Declaration Tour by visiting the first of the billed 21 Local Government Areas to formally intimate them of his intention and also to enter into a social contract with the people right in their various domains.
Pacts such as ensuring that local government elections were conducted in the first six months of his tenure and putting in place a remodelled and vibrant vigilante system with a centralised intelligence gathering command constitutes a few of the basic ingredients that the status quo change mantra is poised to bring about in the state.
The Senator was accompanied to the event by the top apparatchik of his party, YPP, that included the National Chairman, Mr Bishop Amachri; State Chairman, Mr Moses Obi; National Vice Chairman (South East), Chief Chris Ifesi and the National Organizing Secretary, Mr Williams Moses.
Others included the National Secretary, Mr Vidiyeno Bamayi ,the National Woman leader, Hajiya Binta Suleman , as well as the National legal adviser Barr Emeka Nwigwe .
Senator Ubah also used the occasion to pledge and reiterate his resolve towards triggering a new and prosperous Anambra that will emerge as the commercial hub and economic destination of the Nation with accompanying infrastructural revolution built to outlive several generations.
The tours are billed to continue tomorrow with Visits to Nnewi South , Ihiala and Ekwusigo Local Govt Areas.
Indeed a new Anambra is coming with Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah.
