LEAF PEOPLE:
These are people who come into your life just for a season. You can't depend on them because they are weak. They only come to take what they want, but if the wind comes they will leave.
You need to be careful of these people because they love you when things are okay, but when the wind comes they will leave you 🥺

BRANCH PEOPLE:
They are strong, but you need to be careful with them too. They break away when life becomes tough and they can't handle too much weight. They may stay with you in some seasons, but they will go when it becomes harder 😢

ROOT PEOPLE: These people are very important because they don't do things to be seen. They are supportive even if you go through a difficult time they will water you and they are not moved by your position they just love you like that ...

It's not all people you meet or are your friends, that will stay with you.
Only the root type of people will stay no matter the season 👏☺️

"Lawan Musa, a 35-year-old candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party has unseated the Speaker Yobe State House of Assembly, Honourable Ahmed Lawan Mirwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the just concluded 2023 State House of Assembly election in Yobe state.

The Returning Officer, Dr. Habib Muhammad, who announced the result at Nguru on Saturday said, Lawan Musa of the PDP scored 6,648 votes to defeat the sitting Speaker of the House of Assembly, Ahmed Lawan Mirwa of APC who scored 6,466 votes.

Channels Television learnt that the Speaker Mirwa who represents Nguru II constituency has been in the State House of Assembly for about two decades.

If Mirwa had won, this would have been his sixth term in office, however, that dream has now been stopped by the 35-year-old Lawan Musa."

Another source (Ibrahim Bature) has it that, "The Honorable Speaker arrested Lawal for his Facebook post, and when the boy regained his freedom, he decided to engage the Honorable at the polls. People were laughing at him and discouraging him, but he kept pushing.

4- Avoid picking up anything that your child messes up. He will grow up believing that others must take responsibility for his responsibilities.

5- Avoid letting him watch any program on TV. He will grow up thinking that there is no difference between being a child and being an adult.

6- Avoid giving your child all the money he asks for. He will grow up thinking that getting money is easy and will not hesitate to steal for it.

7- Always avoid putting yourself on his side when he is wrong against the neighbors, his teachers, the police. He will grow up thinking that everything he does is right, it is the others who are wrong.

8- Avoid leaving him alone at home when you go to the place of worship, otherwise he will grow up thinking that God does not exist.

HOW TO RESPECT YOURSELF

(1) Stop looking for who is not looking for you.

(2) Stop begging.

(3) Stop saying more than is necessary.

(4) When people disrespect you, confront them immediately.

(5) Don't eat other people's food more than they eat yours.

(6) Reduce how you visit some people, especially if they don't reciprocate it.

(7) Invest in yourself. Make yourself happy.

(8) Stop entertaining gossip about other people.

(9) Think before you talk. 80% of how people value you is what comes out of your mouth.

(10) Always look your best. Dress the way you should be addressed.

(11) Be an achiever. Get busy with your goals.

(12) Respect your time.

(13) Don't stay in a relationship where you don't feel respected and valued. Walk away.

(14) Learn to spend money on yourself. That's how people will learn to spend on you.

(15) Be scarce sometimes.

(16) Be a giver more than a receiver.

“SE MBA A OR U VAAN CI WASE GA”

He is 100 years and seven months old today. Hon. David Mtuem was elected House of Assembly member in the defunct Gongola state in 1979 and reelected in 1983, before military boys seized power. When we met, the centenarian, still sound and agile, gave me a complementary copy of his newly written book: ‘Mnyer u Tiv man Jukun ken Nigeria.’

Mtuem’s book is an expository prologue on the evolutions of Tiv and Jukun ethnic groups and their immigration into Nigeria’s middle belt region. The book answers the question: ‘Er nan se zuan ga?’ (Why are Jukun and Tiv not cohabiting peacefully?). The book says Jukun came from Yemen, Egypt, while Tiv who are from the Bantu family, came from Congo, through the Binda mountains of Cameroon. Mtuem is a reservoir of Tiv anthropology. I picked his brain this morning on many issues affecting Tiv nation and what must be done. The old man said: “Se mba a tom u eren kpishi; Gambe pav, imon nyôr; Mzough ngu ga man dooshima ban hen atô wase; Se mba teman zwa ving ga; Se mba a or u vaan ci wase ga.”

Born in 1922 in Wukari, Mtuem witnessed how Makir Dzakpe was crowned the first Tor Tiv, instead of Gondo Aluor who was earlier nominated. When a young man summoned courage to question the kingmakers, Agbo Kpile responded: “Zwa kaa kwagh môn ga; Ka zwa u nyen u kaa er Gondo alu se tor la shi u kaa er ka Makir ye.”

Mtuem told me that, at 100, he’ll soon die, so he has summarised what he witnessed and what he was told by our ancestors in a book for Tiv offsprings who want to know about their past, to read and understand where they are today, so they can figure where they’re going. Jhumpa Lahiri says books let you travel miles without moving your feet. Thanks to Hon. Mtuem whose book has made me traveled with my ancestors, walked on a snake across a river, meandered through mountains to the Benue trough.
