Olisa Holds New Year Meeting with Traditional Rulers
In keeping with his promise of regularly meeting with traditional rulers, Dr Charles Olisa, DESOPADEC Commissioner representing Ndokwa Nation, today, held his first meeting of the year with traditional rulers in Ndokwa East LGA.
The meeting which held at the Traditional Rulers Council temporary secretariat at Ashaka, had the chairman of the council, HRM, Augustine Ena Oghenejabor, the Odiologbo of Ibrede in attendance. Others were the Inawai of Onyia who is also a member of the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, HRM Frank Akpati, the Igwe of Okpai, HRM G.E. Ugbome, the Agadagba of Adiai-Obiaka, HRM Julius U. Enueme, the Igwe of Abala, HRM Frederick C. Egbunkonye, the Ozu of Igbuku, HRM Isaac Uvo Erube, and the Odiologbo of Onogbokpor, HRM Isaac O. Ajawobu.
At the meeting, Dr Charles Olisa reiterated that the present state government led by His Excellency, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, the executive governor of Delta State, and His Excellency, Sir Monday Onyeme, the deputy governor of Delta State, is one that is ready to give Deltans a good deal. He said with the dawn of the new year and the commencement of budget implementation soon, Deltans will begin to better appreciate the M.O.R.E Agenda of the present government. The commissioner noted that governance was a marathon, not a dash, and requires the support of the people for the success of the administration. He thanked the royal fathers for the peace reigning in their various kingdoms, particularly with the relative peace recorded during the Yuletide season, and pleaded with them to keep sustaining it. Dr Olisa also assured them of the unwavering commitment of the present board of DESOPADEC led by the chairman, Olorogun John Nani, and the managing director, Chief Festus Ochonogor, to the full fulfilment of their commitments all the oil and gas host communities which form the commission's mandate areas.
The traditional rulers appreciated Dr Charles Olisa for sustaining the regular interfaces he schedules with them which, according to them, solidifies their belief in the sincerity and preparedness of the present government to truly do well for the people.
Sir Musa Odili, immediate past HOSTCOM chairman, Ndokwa Nation, Hon. Vincent Ochade, Elder Franklin Akpeme, among others, accompanied Dr Charles Olisa to the meeting.
