❤🏅I’m from UJARI village, in AROCHUKWU kingdom, ABIA State.
Sometimes referred to as Aro Oke-Igbo, it’s the 3rd largest Lga in Abia state.
(After, Aba & Umuahia)
Aro translates as Children and Chukwu as God.
Put together this could imply Children of God.
Arochukwu LGA is composed of five clans namely Abam, Aro, Ihechiowa, Ututu & Isu.
Arochukwu is a principal town in Igbo land, that boasts of several historic tourist attractions & notable personalities.

❤🏅The Arochukwu Festival (Ikeji Aro) is a new yam festival believed to have started in 912 AD.
This 21-day or month-long celebration occurs in September.
The festival is a rich cultural display by diverse cultural troupes, colorful parades, royal processions, etc.
It is a time of thanksgiving as my people mark the end of a year and the beginning of a new one.

❤🏅The Arochukwu Water Fall a.k.a 79 Steps, is one of the trending tourist attractions in Abia state.
Recently rediscovered, the waterfall is overflowing with tourists who want to experience this wonder of nature.

❤🏅Great sons of Aro include my father,
Mazi Alex Oji Ekubo-Okwaraeke, Ikenga Ibom Isii, is popularly known as Uzo Oba Aro.
Ugwu Aro (The Pride of Arochukwu) - The highest title in the land, that can be bestowed on an illustrious son, who worked as a petroleum marketer for AP (African Petroleum) for 24 years, 1st Aug 1978 - 4th March 2002, last position held - National Manager Retail Marketing before the then govt owned oil company was privatized.

❤🏅Mazi Alvan Ikoku, whose face graciously adorns the 10 Naira Note, was a Nigerian educationist & recipient of the Order of the British Empire (OBE)
He was an activist, nationalist, & politician.

❤🏅Kanu Nwankwo (do I need to introduce him?) lol, anyway Dede’m as I fondly call him is a Nigerian former professional footballer.
He won a UEFA Champions League medal, a UEFA Cup medal, 3 FA Cup medals & 2 African Player of the Year awards.
He is one of few players to have won the Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League, UEFA Cup & an Olympic Gold Medal.
