Being a single mother is both a challenging and rewarding journey. Every day, I wake up with a sense of determination to provide the best for my child. From the moment I open my eyes, my mind is filled with a to-do list that seems endless, but I face each task with resilience.

Mornings are a whirlwind of activity. I prepare breakfast, pack lunches, and make sure my child is ready for school. Amidst the hustle, I find moments to bond with my child, sharing stories and laughter that strengthen our connection. Once my child is off to school, I juggle work responsibilities, household chores, and errands, often feeling like I’m being pulled in multiple directions at once.

Financially, it’s a constant balancing act. I’ve learned to budget meticulously, prioritizing essentials and finding creative ways to stretch every dollar. There are times when I have to make difficult decisions, sacrificing my own needs to ensure my child has everything they need. Despite these challenges, I take pride in my ability to manage our finances and provide a stable home.

The evenings are equally demanding. After work, I help with homework, cook dinner, and engage in meaningful conversations with my child. We talk about their day, their dreams, and their fears. It’s during these moments that I realize the immense responsibility I carry as both a mother and a role model. I strive to teach my child values of kindness, resilience, and perseverance.

There are nights when exhaustion overwhelms me, and I question whether I’m doing enough. But then, I see my child’s smile, hear their laughter, and feel their love, and I’m reminded of why I push through the tough times. Being a single mother is not easy, but it’s filled with moments of joy and pride that make every sacrifice worthwhile.

Through my journey, I’ve learned the importance of self-care. I make time for myself, whether it’s through a quiet cup of tea, a good book, or a walk in the park. These moments of solitude recharge my spirit and remind me that taking care of myself is crucial for taking care of my child.

The moral lesson I’ve embraced is the power of resilience and love. Life may throw numerous challenges my way, but with love as my driving force and resilience as my companion, I can overcome any obstacle. My journey as a single mother has taught me that strength lies within, and no matter how tough things get, I have the power to rise above and create a beautiful life for my child and me.

The weather has been hot, so I asked the children to get ice cream from the fridge. But wait! We all are praying that this should not be jollof rice in an ice-cream container.

African mothers are on this table, we can use every container to preserve food! We started recycling ♻️and re-using before recycling became a thing👇🏾
