MY DREAM FOR NSUK GUDI FACULTY OF ENGINEERING-GOVERNOR SULE

Governor Abdullahi Sule has said his dream is to turn the Nasarawa State University Keffi (NSUK) faculty of engineering in Gudi into a full fledged state owned university of engineering.

Governor Sule made this known shortly after inaugurating and witnessing the matriculation of pioneer students of the NSUK faculty of engineering in Gudi, his country home, on Tuesday.

The Governor added that, his administration will work towards ensuring the establishment of three new engineering departments under the faculty namely agricultural engineering, mining engineering and petroleum engineering before the end of his tenure.

"My ultimate dream is to come as a visiting lecturer, a retired governor to this same university now no longer a faculty of engineering but a university of engineering in Nasarawa State," he stated.

He described the event as a dream come true, especially that his desire was to draw from his vast experience of engineering, and to contribute to the growth and development of the profession in Nasarawa State.

"When I was growing up all I wanted to do is to be an engineer in my life. After acquiring all the experiences that I have had, I wanted one day to come and contribute the little I know about engineering in Nasarawa State. I have no idea that one day there is going to be a faculty of engineering in Gudi," Governor Sule said.

He used the opportunity to appreciate his immediate past predecessor, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-makura for donating the structure to NSUK, and former executive secretary of the TETFUND, Professor Suleiman Elias Bogoro, for approving the high impact project which saw to the construction of workshops at the faculty of engineering.

While delivering the inaugural lecture titled "Engineering: The Future for Sustainable Infrastructural Development", Governor Sule identified engineers as problem solvers and innovators, with engineering being a course that has to do with

GENERAL ELECTION IS NOT A REFERENDUM AGAINST ANY POLITICAL PARTY NOR RELIGION

The ongoing jubilation by the PDPs should not trace pass the fact that the people of Osun State voted Sen. Adeleke, not party. Thus, they can maybe smile because he hoisted the party's flag to victory and it's a plus to the number of governors they will have after 2023 election. But in reality, we must not take it far from the fact that Osun People believed in Adeleke and decided to will power to him. This can be seen in what transpired in 2019 general election where the election between the two aspirants was declared inconclusive, an incident that bought Gov. Oyetola the time to team up with SDP candidate and won with less than 3000 votes.

The point I am making is that PDP should not mistake Osun as their strong hole where they could win in the presidential election. It will surprise Atiku not to get up to the votes of Oyetola in Osun; Tinubu might clear Osun like escavator 🤣.

I am, in particular, pleased with the outcome of the election because it buttresses my political position and advocacy ahead of 2023 elections. It gives me the courage to believe that democracy in Nigeria will be wearing a new face in 2023. It justifies that the electorates are not in where they were 2011, 2019, and 2015. It shows that the people knew what they want, and with an umpire that can serve as genuine custodian of mandates, they will do all it takes to vote in the right candidates that represent their conviction and projection.

I am standing tall to say that, SDP shall (by God's grace) clear the positions of National Assembly in Nasarawa North, and possibly the APC might win governorship and presidential positions in the same zone.

Zulum allots 259 houses, N110 million to Borno police

… IGP calls Governor’s support enormous

Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, on Thursday in Maiduguri, announced government’s allocation of 259 houses and the release of N110m to the Nigerian Police Force in the state.

Zulum made the announcement during the commissioning of Borno’s branch of the Nigerian Police Force Microfinance Bank (NPFM Bank).

The Microfinance bank is designed to provide financial services to aid small and medium enterprises for police families, their affiliates and civilians in Borno State.

The Bank’s unveiling in Maiduguri was attended by the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba Alkali.

Before the unveiling, Zulum explained that the allocation of over 259 houses to the police was meant to compensate the state command for government’s use of some portions of land belonging to the police, for development of some infrastructures in the state capital.

On the N110 million he announced, the governor said that 50% of it, which amounts to N55m, was Borno’s contribution as share deposit aimed at enhancing the bank’s operations at the starting stage.

The rest amount of N55m, Zulum further explained, was to be used in supporting families of police personnel in two ways.

The first, Zulum said, was the use of N25 million to be shared to families of police personnel who died in active service.

He ordered that the money be deposited in an account dedicated to educational needs of children left behind by the fallen police personnel.

The balance of N30 million, the governor said, will be deposited into a credit services account for the purpose of supporting policewomen serving across Borno State.

Zulum commended IGP Alkali for unveiling Borno’s branch of the bank which he said, indicated the IGP’s prioritization of police welfare.

The governor alongside the IGP, the bank’s board members and some top police officers, unveiled the branch by a symbolic cutting of a tape.

BREAKING! APC Delegates Demand Adamu’s Resignation

A section of delegates of the All Progressives Congress(APC) have called on National chairman of the party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.

Adamu announced Senate President Ahmad Lawan as the “consensus candidate” ahead of APC presidential primary on Tuesday.

But outraged NWC members dismissed the statement as “your personal opinion”.

Reacting, many said Adamu’s antics showed that he is working overzealously for “a small cabal including few shadowy but influential figures at the Presidency whose stock in trade is to drop the name of President Buhari, who is a worthy and highly principled leader, in pursuit of their nefarious agenda.”

According to them, Adamu now constitutes a “clear and present danger to continued existence of APC as a corporate entity”, capable of subverting Nigeria’s democratic processes.
“By this show of shame, Adamu has clearly shown that he is not fit to preside over APC.

It is shameful that a man rehabilitated from political penury in March by President Buhari who made him National Chairman by consensus can now be trying to destroy the same party within three months,” said Mohammed Argugu, a delegate from Sokoto State.

Another delegate, Ms. Bintu Ibrahim from Niger State, said: “I no longer have confidence in Adamu to continue as APC Chairman.”

APC’ National Vice Chairman of North-West, Dr. Salihu Lukman, condemned Adamu’s “autocratic leadership style” by making weighty public statement in the name of APC without consultation with fellow NWC members.

In my view, a comrade is any principled, hard to threaten,intimidate,coax or cajole to compromise his struggle in the face of injustice. He is the loudest voice for the voiceless, his superlative interest lies extravagantly in safeguarding and nursing the wounded minds.
Comrades can be categorized as:
1- THE AFTER TITTLE COMRADES: These kind of categories join the bandwagon with intent to earn reputation in the eyes of the world. They are after tittle or rather make name in the spotlight. They do not have the fresh blood to lead people to the echelon of excellence and expectation. They strictly adhere to tittles and nomenclature in the line of struggle. They desire to be called Comrades by their fellows and be feeling high and might as if their head would have touched the Sky. They aim at x-raying and depicting a symbolic gesture by their hallow pride.

2-THE MONEY LOOTERS COMRADES:
These set of Comrades vie for a post from the bottom of their hearts to loot or siphon from the public/students treasury and stuff into their personal reservoir. They hunt every possible means to take the advantage of the responsibility rested on their shoulders to gratify their thoroughly dried-throats.
