AJAOKUTA FEDERAL LAWMAKER, SANNI ABDULRAHEEM RECEIVES CONSTITUENTS, IGALA, IGBO COMMUNITIES IN SALLAH HOMAGE VISIT.

In the early hours of yesterday, the House of Representatives member representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, Hon. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem received various constituents and groups in a Sallah homage visit at his Lokoja residence.

The first delegation consisted of state and local government appointees, youths, and women from Geregu North, who appreciated Hon. Abdulraheem's efforts in facilitating appointments from Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo .

In his response, Hon. Abdulraheem expressed gratitude and emphasized the importance of unity and support for the zone's development.

In a related development, the Igala community and Igbo community paid a thank-you visit to Hon. Abdulraheem for his special attention and appointments, including Comr. Sediq Ahmed Acheneje , Comr Obiakor Obiora as SSA on Inter-Tribal Integration.

They noted that an indigenous Igala person from another local government has never been honoured with such appointments since the creation of Ajaokuta LGA, and as such, they pledge an undiluted loyalty to the Honorable member for his inclusiveness.

The Ajaokuta Federal lawmaker praised the delegation and emphasized the need for unity and inclusivity, promising that his administration and Kogi State government will continue to recognize and support both indigenes and non-indigenes. He restated that no particular tribe or a single region can win an election without the collective support of other sister tribes, thus urging everyone to embrace unity ahead of other primordial sentiments.

ALL THE REMAINING EIGHT KIDNAPPED STUDENTS HAVE BEEN RELEASED

1. The Kogi State Government announces the rescue of the remaining eight kidnapped students of Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara.

2. The Governor has directed full support towards the recovery of the students and their parents, while modalities are being put in place to make Kogi safer for all.

3. The Government of Kogi State expresses profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for directing the mobilization of resources to ensure the rescue of the kidnapped students. We also thank the National Security Adviser immensely for his commitment to the release of the students and the general security of the State. The Chief of Army Staff, the Chief of Naval Staff, the Chief of Air Staff, the Director General of DSS, the Inspector General of Police and all the officers and men of the Armed Forces that put in their best as well as the Pilots, did a wonderful job to support us in reuniting the kidnapped students with their families. The Kogi State Command of all the security agencies, Police, DSS, NSCDC and our local hunters are also highly appreciated for their efforts towards this feat.

4. Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo also expresses immense gratitude to his Kwara State counterpart, Governor AbdulRahmam AbdulRazak for his personal commitment, cooperation and support towards the success of the operation that led to the rescue of the remaining kidnapped students. The Kwara State Governor showed the reason he is effectively leading the Nigerian Governors Forum. His actions have also reinforced the Kogi/Kwara cooperation and unity of purpose.

Now that the remaining students have been rescued, our administration will continue the drive to recalibrate our security architecture and pay an uncompromising attention to the Safe School Initiative. FOOD SUFFICIENCY: GOV ODODO FLAGS OFF WET SEASON FARMING, DISTRIBUTION OF SEEDLINGS IN AJAOKUTA

…Says Kogi Special Agricultural Intervention Programme Will Guarantee Food Security

Kogi State Governor, His Excellency Ahmed Usman Ododo, assured the people on Saturday that the State’s Special Agricultural Intervention Programme will guarantee food security and create wealth for farmers in the state. The governor made this announcement during the flag-off ceremony of the 2024 Wet Season Farming under the State’s Special Agricultural Intervention Programme at Abata, Geregu, in Ajaokuta Local Government Area of the state.

According to the State commissioner for Agriculture, Hon Timothy Ojoma, a total of seven thousand, three hundred and twenty-four (7,324) hectares of land in 79 farm clusters have been identified and delineated for this ambitious programme. These include 5,124 hectares allocated for rice cultivation, 1,200 hectares for cassava, and 1,000 hectares for maize. All 21 local government areas of the state are participating in this aggressive Special Agricultural Intervention Programme, showcasing the administration’s commitment to agricultural development.

The governor emphasized that this programme is designed to boost agricultural productivity, enhance food sufficiency, and generate economic opportunities for farmers. By involving all local government areas, the initiative aims to maximize the state’s agricultural potential and ensure a consistent food supply for the populace.

Governor Ododo also underscored the importance of modern agricultural techniques and support systems in achieving these goals. He assured farmers that the state government would provide necessary resources, including high-quality seeds, fertilizers, and training in best farming practices, to ensure the success of the programme.

I was honored to host our esteemed leader in my office! We had a productive discussion on advancing Ajaokuta's progress,Striving for growth and development. It was great timeout with our distinguished HON Muhammed Sadiq, a true Ajaokuta gem, served as Kogi's Commissioner of Justice and Attorney General of the state, and he served two-times as the House of Reps member for Ajaokuta. He is a successful politician and one of my esteemed predecessors. We had strategic and exciting talks about gearing up for a successful outing in the upcoming Ododo/Joel gubernatorial election in November. Let's keep pushing for a brighter future!
