The Little White Lies I Told My Kids About Their Father - Iyabo Ojo Opens Up


Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo is opening up about the little white lies she told her children about their father in a bid to maintain a 'balanced life' for her kids. Speaking about why she made this decision to tell these little white lies to her children, and opening up about a number of them she told, Iyabo Ojo comes clean in an interview with AntoSays. Here's what Iyabo Ojo had to say.

Speaking about the little white lies she told her children about their father, Iyabo Ojo opened up saying:

IYABO OJO: There's something they call white lie. My story is crazy, when I say crazy I mean I need to write a book about my life cuz sometimes when I sit down and I look at the mirror and I look at myself I'm like oh girl, how did you pull through?

I didn't come from a balanced family. When I say balanced, I don't mean financially. My family financially were very okay, but my upbringing wasn't balanced because of the things that were going on with my dad and my mom and my family. So I did not come from a balanced family and one thing I craved and wanted was my kids to have a balanced home.

So when that didn't happen, the first thing I did was to block my kids off everything that was going on. My kids didn't have access to social media or phone or anything until they were like probably 15 or 14. That was when I allowed them to start even knowing what they call social media or whatever it is. They didn't have access to reading newspapers or anything because I told a lot of white lies and that was the fact that your dad is a traveler, he travels a lot.
So they didn't realize that we were separated for a very long time and I made sure that no matter how angry I was with their dad, I allowed him access to his kids when he came home to visit. I bought Christmas gifts, New Year gifts. I always had to double the gifts I will buy: one from him, one for me and make sure his own is bigger.

“This Time Too Shall Pass, and the God of Your Good Deeds Will Speak for You” – Nollywood Actor Adeniyi Johnson

Nigerian actor and film producer Adeniyi Johnson has extended his condolences to the families affected by the tragic incident at the Ibadan funfair, which claimed the lives of 35 children.

Taking to his verified social media, Adeniyi shared a heartfelt message alongside a picture of Olori Naomi, expressing his sympathy and prayers.

His message reads

“First and foremost, my deepest condolences to the families of the lost ones. No family deserves to experience such pain, now or ever. I pray that the Lord grants you the strength to bear this loss and brings comfort to your hearts. Amen.

Secondly, my thoughts and prayers go to those whose intentions were not to harm but to give and support. This time too shall pass, and the God of your good deeds will speak for you, restore you, and make you stronger. We, the people of Ondo State, are known for our kindness and generosity, and your motive for organizing this program was clearly driven by the same spirit.

I pray that God helps you navigate this difficult period and brings you back stronger.

Lastly, while the law must take its course, we appeal to the authorities to temper justice with mercy and consider the good intentions behind this unfortunate incident.

"I fear men who act all nice and caring because, in the end, you may end up getting your early morning premium breakfast or dinner; it can come at any time, you know.

Sometimes, back in my University days, I was in love with this charming prince from Ikwerre, Rivers State. I was very naive to loving and relationship matters, so I gave him my all; I would always be in his lodge to cook and clean for him as a loyal girlfriend you know.

Most times I see him with this particular girl, who he always walks about with on campus and, he will give me that response of "They are just friends and reading partners since she was in the same department with him" if I ask him.

I paid less attention afterall she didn't fit into what my man liked, she was thin, tall with that flat chest, while I had the curves and hips which is something he always told me he liked... I was just his perfect kind of woman according to him.

All this happened for months until I saw him in a wedding car with the inscription "Just Wedded" on the back of the car and guess who the bride was... "just a friend!".

This incident left me heart broken and shattered for years. I have moved on ever since but I am very careful of the sons of Adams.

When they say "I love you", I just ask them is it my heart or back?"
