10 FOOD FACTS 10 FOOD FACTS

1. Cucumbers are 95% water. Other vegetables high in water are lettuce, celery, bok choy, radish, zucchini, green bell peppers, and asparagus.

2. Pineapple plants can take two to three years to produce a fruit. While pineapple plants can grow only one fruit at a time, some live up to 50 years!

3. Watermelon and bananas are berries, but strawberries are not! A lot of thought goes into classifying fruits and vegetables, and it all has to do with anatomy

4. Fruit salad trees grow different fruits on the same tree! These are called multi-grafted trees and they can grow up to six types of fruit at a time

5. The original carrots were purple and yellow, not orange. The first records show that carrots were purple and yellow until the 1500s.

6. Carrots are sweeter in the winter.

7. Nutmeg can make you hallucinate. A little bit of nutmeg is tasty, but don’t eat too much. In large doses, the sea*oning can have mind-altering effects due to a natural compound called myristicin.

8. Rotten eggs float. Worried that your eggs have gone bad? There’s an easy way to find out. Just put them in a glass of cold water and if they float, throw them out!

9. Potatoes are 80% water. You could probably juice a potato, but we’ll stick to mashed potatoes and fries!

10. Food tastes different in an airplane. While flying, you may have noticed that some flavors don’t taste the same as they do when you’re on the ground. That’s because altitude changes your body chemistry and decreases your taste sensitivity.

Good people from Inside Agbado please stay healthy always.

4. Bank at First Bank, UBA, GTBank, and Zenith over Stanbic
5. Watch AriseTV, Channels and NTA over Multichoice DSTV
6. Buy Dangote and Ibeto cement, and avoid Chinese brands
7. Watch and buy Enyimba FC, Kano Pillars, and 3SC over Manchester United, Barcelona, PSG, and Napoli
8. Buy music of Nigerian origin from streaming sites instead of downloading foreign artistes
9. Patronise DAKOVA, Mai Atafo, Mudi Africa, and JADZ Couture (maker of my babanriga and agbada. Show her some love on +234 704 477 9973) over Armani, Gucci, Balenciaja, and Louis Vuitton

Nobody is coming to save Nigeria. It is only Nigerians that will save Nigeria. Local brands may or may not be as good as foreign ones, but with continued patronage, they will improve in quality. Buy them, and your Naira will rise along with your personal happiness and the international rating of the green Nigerian passport. Your value is tied to Nigeria's value. Buy Nigerian and Nigeria's foreign reserves, trade balances, and debt to GDP ratio will automatically improve.

FOUR MICROFINANCE BANK STAFF IN POLICE NET OVER DEATH OF DEBTOR'S WIFE

Police in Ogun state on May 10 arrested four staff of a Microfinance Bank, situated at Abule Ijoko Lemode area of Ifo local government, over the d€ath of a 50 year old Vivian Omo, a wife to one of their debtors.

A statement from the spokesperson of the command, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, says trouble started when the bank staffers visted the home of the deceased to ask for the payment of loan taken from the bank by the deceased's husband but they were told that the man was not at home.

‘’Not satisfied with the woman's explanation about the whereabout of her husband, the bank staffs decided to pack all the electronics in the house to their office the step that was resisted by the deceased. While the deceased was struggling with the Bank's staffs, one of them pushed her and she fell down and was unconscious.

She was there and then rushed to hospital for medical attention, but was confirmed d€ad by the doctor on duty.''

Oyeyemi said the report was quickly lodged at Agbado divisional headquarters by the daughter of the deceased.

‘’Consequence upon which the DPO Agbado division, CSP Awoniyi Adekunle, quickly led his detectives to the scene where four staffs of the bank namely: Badmus Olalekan, Ajibade Oludare, Eniola Aduragbemi and Femi Oloko were arrested.''

He said the co**se has been deposited at Ifo General Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Olanrewaju Oladimeji, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to Homicide section of the state Criminal Investigation Departments for further investigation. He also warned loan agencies to stop taking laws into their hands in the process of recovering loan from their debtors, as anyone caught in such act will be arrested and prosecuted.
