Court Orders AGF to Take Over Cyber Stalking Case Against Alagbado of Agbado

Abeokuta, Ogun State – A Federal High Court sitting in Abeokuta has directed the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) to take over the prosecution of a cyber stalking case involving the Alagbado of Agbado, Oba Adedayo Richard Shyllon.

The case, with charge number FHC/AB/79C/2025, was initially filed by the Commissioner of Police.

At the plea proceedings on Tuesday before Justice Abiodun Adeyemi, the 62-year-old monarch was present in court. The hearing was attended by counsel for the prosecution, Henry Obiazi (SP, OC Legal, Ogun State CIID), H. P. Ashasim representing the AGF, Adekunle Funmilayo for the defendant, and A. A. Ayodele, who held a watching brief for the complainant.

Commencing the proceedings, Justice Adeyemi informed the counsel that the court had received a letter from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) in the Office of the AGF. The letter, dated September 16, 2025, formally requested to take over the case from the police, citing the powers conferred by Section 174 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).

Counsel for the AGF, H. P. Ashasim, confirmed that the letter had been served and acknowledged by the office of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) on the same date. He added that copies were also forwarded to the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 2 Command, Onikan, Lagos, and the Ogun State Police Command, Eleweran, Abeokuta.

After examining the submissions, Justice Adeyemi granted the AGF's application.

“That the application of the AGF to take over the matter is granted,” the judge ruled. “That the case of Commissioner of Police vs. Adedayo Richard Shyllon is hereby taken over by the AGF. And that the order be served on the IGP, AIG Zone 2, and Ogun State Police Commissioner for necessary action.”

With this ruling, the matter has been formally committed to the control of the Federal Ministry of Justice for further prosecution.

10 FOOD FACTS 10 FOOD FACTS

1. Cucumbers are 95% water. Other vegetables high in water are lettuce, celery, bok choy, radish, zucchini, green bell peppers, and asparagus.

2. Pineapple plants can take two to three years to produce a fruit. While pineapple plants can grow only one fruit at a time, some live up to 50 years!

3. Watermelon and bananas are berries, but strawberries are not! A lot of thought goes into classifying fruits and vegetables, and it all has to do with anatomy

4. Fruit salad trees grow different fruits on the same tree! These are called multi-grafted trees and they can grow up to six types of fruit at a time

5. The original carrots were purple and yellow, not orange. The first records show that carrots were purple and yellow until the 1500s.

6. Carrots are sweeter in the winter.

7. Nutmeg can make you hallucinate. A little bit of nutmeg is tasty, but don’t eat too much. In large doses, the sea*oning can have mind-altering effects due to a natural compound called myristicin.

8. Rotten eggs float. Worried that your eggs have gone bad? There’s an easy way to find out. Just put them in a glass of cold water and if they float, throw them out!

9. Potatoes are 80% water. You could probably juice a potato, but we’ll stick to mashed potatoes and fries!

10. Food tastes different in an airplane. While flying, you may have noticed that some flavors don’t taste the same as they do when you’re on the ground. That’s because altitude changes your body chemistry and decreases your taste sensitivity.

Good people from Inside Agbado please stay healthy always.
