REMEMBERING OGA JOSIAH HENRYSON DOHERTY (1866-1928)

A Great Philanthropist, Legendary Churchman and Prince Merchant of Old Lagos.

His mother, Princess Helena Ariwoola Fatoregun Doherty was a founding member of the Ekiti Parapo Society of Lagos that gave succour to the EkitiParapo (Kiriji) warriors in the late 19th century and wrote letter to the British colonial Governor of Lagos,Sir Alfred Cornelius Moloney to effect the Yoruba Peace Treaty at Kiriji in September 1886.

Mummy Helena Doherty was one of the pioneers of Christianity in Ekiti land in the 1890s with fierce evangelism.

Doherty Memorial Grammar School(DMGS) Ijero-Ekiti was established on February 7,1955 in memory of this scion of His Royal Majesty Oba Agbeleja,The Ajero of Ijero -Ekiti (reigned 1821-1866) and the pivotal legacy of the Dohertys to Ijero-Ekiti modern development.

May his legacy endure forever.

The new Queen (Olori) of Ooni of Ife,His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II is Royal Empress Dr. Elham Madani (H.M. Empress Madani), a Royal Crown Empress & profound Film Director, Producer, and lead actress with over 1500 movies, feature films, Videos, and documentaries l.

She was born to an American- Arab father and Persian mother in Iran and was the only child of this physician couple.

Empress Madani earned her 1st degree in English literature and then a masters degree in linguistics from Iran University soon after she migrated to India to pursue her PhD in social linguistics.

She also has a degree in Film Production from York University of Toronto, Canada, and continued her studies in Film production in Los Angeles.

Dr. Madani is the founder of World Cinema Academy, an NGO registered in the USA., Mighty Vision Pictures, (worldwide Film production), WIND International Film Festival, Empress International Royal Awards, Empire of Madani, an NGO in Canada to assist the homeless, and women in need of shelter.

She has hosted several royal and peace summit at her palace in Surrey of Canada since 2021 until now as well. She is an Honorary president, chairwoman, and president of many non-profit organizations throughout the globe to advance the elimination of poverty especially in the field of education. (Ed).
