Rep. Abdullahi Idris Garba - AIG sends Christmas message to Nigerians

The member representing Kontagora/Wushishi/Mariga/Mashegu Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Idris Garba (Jagaban Kontagora), has felicitated with Christian faithful and all Nigerians as they celebrate the Christmas and New Year festivities.

Hon. Abdullahi, in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity and forwarded to Gulmawuya, lauded Nigerians for their resilience in the face of the challenges facing the nation.

He urged them to pray for improvement in the social, political and economic condition of the country in the New Year.

The Chairman House Committee on Aviation also called on Nigerians to make it part of their New Year resolutions to play their constitutional roles by ensuring peace, unity and progress of our nation.

Hon. Abdullahi said all hands must be on deck as citizens of Nigeria to ensure that they all play their vital role in fostering the economic development of Nigeria.

“I wish all Nigerians a merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

“I want to call on Christians in particular and Nigerians in general to emulate the virtues of Christ, who through self-sacrifice brought salvation to humanity.

“This is a time for us to be our brother’s keeper, extend our generosity to one another and ensure that the less-privileged among us are not left out of the ensuing merriment,” he stated.

He prayed for journey mercies for as many Nigerians that would have to travel during the period.

The member also urged the police and other security agencies to be alive to their responsibilities and ensure that the lives and property of Nigerians were fully secured at all times.

“The security agencies must of necessity redouble their efforts to ensure that the Christmas and New Year celebrations are observed peacefully across the country,” he stated.

AIG Media Team congratulates Hon. Abdullahi on Appeal Court Victory

The Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Idris Garba (AIG) Media Team has congratulated the member representing Kontagora/Wushishi/Mariga/Mashegu Federal Constituency at the Gederal House of Representatives, Hon. Abdullahi Idris Garba (Jagaban Kontagora) on the affirmation of his election by the Court of Appeal, saying the time to continue his good work towards the betterment of his constituency and national building is now.

GULMAWUYA recalls that the apex court on Friday dismissed the appeals of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), House of representative candidate in the last election, Alhaji Abubakar Shehu Baci.

The PDP candidate challenged the victory of Hon. Abdullahi’s at the February 25 poll and sought to overturn the declaration of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Court of Appeal, however, dismissed the appeal, holding that new evidence could not be introduced at the stage of appeal.

In a congratulatory message by members of his media team which was issued by, Bashar Atake, in Kontagora, said “Our judicial system has once again proven itself in tackling disputes that arise from our elections”.

The statement noted the finality of the apex court ruling on disputes on the 2023 house of representative election, said the resolution of the questions that surrounded the election would bring about focus in confronting the many challenges facing the constituency.

They commended the main opposition candidate in the election for deepening the country’s electoral jurisprudence by testing their complaints at the court of law.

“On behalf of the Abdullahi Idris Garba Media Team and the good people of Kontagora/Wushishi/Mariga/Mashegu Federal Constituency, I congratulate Hon. Abdullahi Idris Garba (Jagaban Kontagora) on his judicial victory at the court of appeal.

“It is our hope that you will continue to bring progress, unity, and prosperity to our beloved constituency, and we want to restate our commitment to working with you by any means necessary as you continue to offer your best for our people,” the statement reads.

Independence Day: Hon. Abdullahi tasks Nigerians on unity, prayers for country

The member representing Kontagora/Wushishi/Mariga/Mashegu Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Idris Garba (Jagaban Kontagora) has urged his fellow constituents and Nigerians to remain united as the country marks her 63rd Independence Day anniversary.

Abdullahi also enjoined Nigerians to pray for the country and her leaders for the entrenchment of good governance and the well being of the people.

The Chairman House Committee on Aviation at the Green Chambers in a message of felicitation marking Nigeria’s 63rd Independence via his social media platforms, said Nigeria has come a long way as one indivisible entity which every citizen must work to protect.

He noted that at a time like this, prayers and unity of purpose will help ensure the country remains one, and tasked Nigerians to continue working hard to realise the mission and vision of the country’s founding fathers, who fought for the country to become what it is today.

Eid-el-Maulud: Rt. Hon. Abdullahi calls for unity, love

The member representing Kontagora/Wushishi/Mariga/Mashegu Federal Constituency and Chairman House Committee on Aviation, Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Idris Garba (Jagaban Kontagora), urged his fellow Muslim constituents and Muslims at large to use the opportunity of his birthday to reflect on the teachings of the Prophet, who lived a life of piety, prayer and service to God and humanity.

Abdullahi also urged the adherents of the Islamic faith “to rededicate themselves to upholding the injunctions of the Holy Quran in their personal life and in their relationships with others.

He said just like the birth of the Holy Prophet in Mecca ushered in a new dawn for humanity, Nigerians should view the occasion of this year’s Maulud Nabiyyi as an opportunity for a new beginning for the country.

House of Reps member Abdullahi launches empowerment scheme for women, empowering 600

Member House of Representatives, Honourable Abdullahi Idris Garba (Jagaban Kontagora), (APC Kontagora/Wushishi/Mariga/Mashegu federal constituency in Niger State) has launched a multi-million community outreach programme to assist widows and indigent women in his constituency.

The programme tagged “Empowerment of Women” aims to provide financial and material support for rural and peri-urban women within the Kontagora/Wushishi/Mariga/Mashegu constituency and surrounding areas.

It will also support existing poverty alleviation and women empowerment programmes and schemes to improve human development indices in Niger State.

Speaking on the programme on Saturday, via phone on a constituency outreach meeting, Honourable Abdullahi said: “This scheme is very much needed in Niger State, bearing in mind the present state of the economy and it is our intention to use it as a means of bettering the lives of Nigerians in the Kontagora/Wushishi/Mariga/Mashegu constituency.”

He added that he plans that the next empowerment scheme will cover financial support, the Women Empowerment Scheme would also include skill acquisition programmes for young women, provide access to better reproductive healthcare and increase access of women and girls to all levels of education.

Niger State’s population is finely split between women and men and with most parts of the state, especially the Kontagora/Wushishi/Mariga/Mashegu constituency largely rural, poverty remains a reality for many citizens. Add to this is the fact that over 90 million Nigerians live in extreme poverty and the timeliness of Honourable Abdullahi’s Women Empowerment Scheme could not be overstated.

With programmes such as the “Women Empowerment and Skills Acquisition,” Honourable Abdullahi says “it is time we embark on massive investments in our local women to enable them to support their families and create other jobs and opportunities in their communities.”

Other programmes under the scheme include a “Widow Support Fund”, “Maternity Welfare Programme” and the provision of business start-up funds to support the growth of SMEs in the constituency.

Earlier today, the speaker of the House of Representative Tajudeen Abbas, announced the name of lawmakers who will chair 134 standing committees in the green chamber.

Abbas unveiled the names of the committees’ chairpersons and their deputies on the floor of the house on Thursday.

The composition of the panels is in line with house standing rules which provide for the establishment of standing committees to carry out the oversight function on government agencies and programmes and address specific issues of national importance.

Some of the lawmakers who made the list as chairpersons of committees are James Faleke (finance); Muktar Betara (FCT); Akin Alabi (works); Bamidele Salami (public accounts); Idris Wase (federal character); Leke Abejide (customs); Jimi Benson (defence); Ahmed Satomi (national security) and Yusuf Gagdi (navy).

Islamic New Year: Imbibe peace, love and compassion, Abdullahi tells constituents

The member representing Kontagora/Wushishi/Mariga/Mashegu Fed. Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Idris Garba (Jagaban Kontagora) has congratulated his fellow constituents, Nigerlites, Nigerians, as well as the Muslim Ummah, on the New Year 1445 and the commemoration of the migration (Hijra) of Prophet Muhammad from Makkah to Madinah.

Hon. Abdullahi’s congratulatory message was made via phone while speaking with Gulmawuya’s correspondent from his office at the National Assembly.

The member said, “On the occasion of the Islamic New Year, and the commemoration of the Hijrah, I urge Muslims and other citizens to imbibe the lessons of compassion, peace, love and support for one another. I wish all Muslims a blessed year.”

Abdullahi Idris Garba (Jagaban Kontagora) has felicitated with the Muslim faithful on the occasion of Eid-al-Adha. He congratulated pilgrims that had the opportunity to undertake the Hajj without the covid-19 restrictions.

“It is my great honour and privilege to salute the Muslim faithful on the occasion of Eid-al-Adha. The festival of sacrifice is a celebration of Prophet Ibrahim's (AS) absolute faith in the Almighty Allah, a tradition that the noble Prophet Muhammad (SAW) continued with, which is being observed annually by Muslims worldwide as an act of worship.

As we confront our challenges and difficulties, we are invited to emulate sacrifice and faith in our daily lives.

The member representing Kontagora/Wushishi/Mariga/Mashegu Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Idris Garba (Jagaban Kontagora) has advised his constituents, Nigerlites and Nigerians as well to support the numerous prayers they made during the holy month of Ramadan concerning the nation, with positive attitudes which are necessary for nation-building.

The member said Ramadan symbolises Allah’s way of teaching humanity the attitude of living a virtuous life, where people keep away from all forms of impurities and experience denial of several forms of comfort.

Rt. Hon. Abdullahi said this while congratulating Muslims on the successful completion of this year’s Ramadan fasting and also on Eid-el-Fitri celebration.

The member representing Kontagora /Wushishi/Mariga/Mashegu Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives of Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Idris Garba (Jagaban Kontagora) has felicitated with President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as he celebrates his 71st birthday on Wednesday.

Abdullahi in a message sent through his twitter handle , using the hash tag , prayed for God blessing, and continued wisdom and grace upon the newly elected Nigerian President.

Don haka dole ne mu yi amfani da wannan damar don yin addu’a sosai ga jiharmu ta gari da kuma kasa baki daya da kuma wadanda ke kan mulki yayin da muke hada karfi don yaki da barazanar rashin tsaro, da kuma kalubale da dama da ke gabanmu a yau”.

Dan Majalisa Rt. Hon. Abdullahi ya gargadi al'ummar musulmi da su nuna a rayuwarsu a koyaushe, ruhi da kuma manufofin addinin Islama ta hanyar rayuwa bisa koyarwar addinin, wanda ke karfafa zaman lafiya, alheri da biyayya.

"Watan Ramadana ba wai kawai mu yi azumi bane, amma mu tsarkake kanmu daga kowane irin laifi kuma mu sadaukar da kanmu ga Allah, mu saukar da sha'awarmu da burinmu zuwa ga nufinsa kuma mu kafa kanmu a matsayin misalai ga wasu ta hanyar karimcinmu, gaskiya da kyakkyawar makwabtaka".

NASS 2023 Elections: Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Declared Winner

The member representing Kontagora/Wushishi/Mariga/Mashegu Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Idris Garba (Jagaban Kontagora)of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been re-elected as the member representing Kontagora/Wushishi/Mariga/Mashegu Fed. Constituency in 2023 Nation Assembly Elections.

Rt. Hon. Abdullahi emerged winner of the House of Representatives election with 53,470 votes, defeating his closest co-contestant from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Abubakar Shehu Barchi, who polled 47,330.

After announcing the result of the election, Collation Officer, Prof. Dauda Solomon Musa, declared Abdullahi winner, having polled the highest vote cast in the election.

Rt. Hon. Abdullahi triumph in the 2023 General Election grants him his fifth (5th) term of service to the people of his constituency in Niger state.
