🎬 Know Your Deen
"Know Your Deen" is one of the most inspiring Islamic interactive studio programs in Ebira land — if not the very best of its kind. Airing every Sunday on Ebira Sunnah TV, it proudly holds the record as the "First ever weekly Islamic interactive studio program in Ebira land".
The program is dedicated to enlightening Ebira Muslims about their religion (Islam) with a focus on:
- The right Aqeedah (creed)
- The authentic understanding of the Qur’an
- And the sound sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ)
As Allah ﷻ says,
ادْعُ إِلَىٰ سَبِيلِ رَبِّكَ بِالْحِكْمَةِ وَالْمَوْعِظَةِ الْحَسَنَةِ وَجَادِلْهُم بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِالْمُهْتَدِينَ
Invite (mankind, O Muhammad SAW) to the Way of your Lord (i.e. Islam) with wisdom (i.e. with the Divine Inspiration and the Quran) and fair preaching, and argue with them in a way that is better. Truly, your Lord knows best who has gone astray from His Path, and He is the Best Aware of those who are guided. (Quran 16:125).
Allah ﷻ says:
وَلْتَكُن مِّنكُمْ أُمَّةٌ يَدْعُونَ إِلَى الْخَيْرِ وَيَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنكَرِ وَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ
Let there arise out of you a group of people inviting to all that is good (Islam), enjoining Al-Ma'ruf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam orders one to do) and forbidding Al-Munkar (polytheism and disbelief and all that Islam has forbidden). And it is they who are the successful.
(Qur’an 3:104)
The Prophet ﷺ also said:
> “Whoever calls to guidance will have a reward similar to those who follow him, without that detracting from their reward in the slightest.”
(Sahih Muslim)
This program embodies this divine command, guiding Muslims to the straight path.
Spearheading this noble initiative is Ustadh Abdullah Suleiman Ibn Katheer (Hafidhohulloh), the respected Mudeer and founder of Alghoreeb Qur’an, Arabic and Islamic Academy, Kwankwashe, Suleja, Niger State — which also sponsors this landmark program.
However, one of the greatest challenges facing Islamic programs is the lack of sponsorship from Muslims themselves. Sadly, many educative and beneficial Islamic initiatives have disappeared completely due to insufficient support. Yet Allah ﷻ reminds us:
مَّثَلُ الَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ أَمْوَالَهُمْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ حَبَّةٍ أَنبَتَتْ سَبْعَ سَنَابِلَ فِي كُلِّ سُنبُلَةٍ مِّائَةُ حَبَّةٍ وَاللَّهُ يُضَاعِفُ لِمَن يَشَاءُ وَاللَّهُ وَاسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ
The likeness of those who spend their wealth in the Way of Allah, is as the likeness of a grain (of corn); it grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains. Allah gives manifold increase to whom He pleases. And Allah is All-Sufficient for His creatures' needs, All-Knower.
(Qur’an 2:261)
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said, "When a person dies, all their deeds come to an end except for three: a continuous charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for them." (Sahih Muslim).
"Know Your Deen" is a shining example of beneficial knowledge, and we pray that it continues to benefit generations to come.
However, one of the greatest challenges facing Islamic programs is the lack of sponsorship from Muslims themselves. Sadly, many educative and beneficial Islamic initiatives have disappeared completely due to insufficient support. As the Quran reminds us, "And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression." (Quran 5:2).
We pray and hope that Know Your Deen will not follow the same path of abandonment due to lack of support. Instead, we aspire — and place our trust in Allah — that He will, in His infinite mercy, raise sincere individuals who will come forward to sponsor and sustain this program, bi’iznillah.
Currently, Know Your Deen airs as a pre-recorded series, but In shaa Allah, by His Will, it will soon transition into live streaming, bringing real-time interaction and guidance to its growing audience across Ebira land and beyond.
