APC: Sen. Bwacha, Most experienced to occupy Taraba govt house in 2023- Hon. Yusuf Ahmed Gamaliya
Ahmed Yusuf Gamaliya, one of the key stakeholders in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State has emphasized that the Gubernatorial candidate of the party for the 2023 general elections, Sen. Emmanuel Bwacha remains the most qualified person to take over power from the ruling PDP in the state.
Gamaliya made this statement while fielding questions from journalists in Jalingo.
He said that Bwacha stands out as the most experienced candidate who had served as a state Commissioner of agriculture between 1999-2003 during the regime of the former civilian Governor, Reverend Jolly Nyame.
He added that Sen. Bwacha was also at the state House of Assembly in 1999 before moving to the federal House of Representatives from 2003-2007, and has been in the red chamber since 2011-date.
“So, that makes him different, that makes him far apart from other pretenders to the gubernatorial seat of Taraba State. So, in terms of experience, capacity, network, net worth, and in terms of anything good, he has all it takes to be the next governor of the state irrespective of personal inhibitions or opinion, we cannot stop people from having their own opinions.
“But my opinion is a statement of fact-checking, you can fact-check it. So, it is strange that if he aspires to be the governor of Taraba State? Is it strange that he can’t run the Taraba state taking into cognizance his experience as a legislature and as someone who served the executive arm of government?
“What are you looking for in governance? Capacity, understanding, experience, and above all, the capacity to harness all our divergent views and opinions as well as to run everything into one, so that we will have meaningful development in Taraba State, and that is what we want.
” I want you to fact-check other candidates if there are anyway, to find out, put them side by side with Sen. Emma Bwacha, you will see that they are miles miles miles far behind. But if you have anything I want to be contradicted. These are notorious facts,” said Gamaliya.
On insinuating that the APC has no gubernatorial candidate in Taraba State, Hon. Ahmed Yusuf Gamaliya described the rumor as baseless, saying that ” for the avoidance of doubt, the gubernatorial candidate for APC is Sen. Emmanuel Bwacha, and this one you can take it to the bank.
“That is why it is part of the closes in the electoral act to display a list of candidates so that the electorates will be in the position to see those names, and if anybody has any legal action to take, it is there displayed. So, for you to tell me that APC doesn’t have a candidate, your question is very academic,” Gamaliya emphasized.
However, on the recent moves by the APC gubernatorial candidate, Sen. Emmanuel Bwacha to reconcile with those that lost the primary elections of the party, Gamaliya said they are trying to put their house in order before the kick-off of the proper campaign to enable them to move with a formidable force as one family so that at the end of the day they will be able to achieve victory in all the elective positions from the house of assembly to the presidential election.
According to Hon. Ahmed Yusuf Gamaliya, who is a Federal Commissioner, Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission, 80% of the aggrieved members attended the reconciliation meeting held in Jalingo and expressed optimism that there will be light at the end of the tunnel.
