Last night, Tunisia made it to the quarter final stage of the on-going Africa Cup of Nations Cameroon 2021. The Eagles of Carthage defeated 10-man Super Eagles of Nigeria 1-0 in a round of 16 match played at the Roumdé Adjia Stadium in Garoua. After a goalless first half skipper Youssef Msakni gave Tunisia the lead two minutes after recess. Maskni beat one defender and found space to shoot from outside the box. Nigerian goalkeeper Emil Maduka Okoye had a touch on the ball, but it rested in the net. In the Group stage Tunisia started with a 1-0 defeat to Mali, before they humbled Mauritania 4-0. They fell 1-0 to newcomers in the AFCON stage Gambia in the last group match to only qualify as one of the best losers. For the Super Eagles they stopped Egypt 1-0, saw off Sudan 3-1 and handed Guinea Bissau a 2-0 defeat. Nigeria was the only team at the AFCON to win all their matches in the Group stage.

The relationship between Barcelona and Ousmane Dembele is fractured beyond repair it seems, with Barca's sporting director, Mateu Alemany confirming that the player needs to find a new club before January 31 after failing to agree a new contract at Camp Nou, with just six months to run on his deal. Meanwhile, Dembele has sensationally hit back with a post on social media.

The player made clear that he wouldn't succumb to blackmail, intimating that the Catalan club have treated him poorly throughout the current situation.

Former Ghana's skipper Asamoah Gyan has tipped Nigeria to beat all oppositions to win the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon after the Super Eagles emerged as the best team out of the group stage of the AFCON.

Meanwhile Cameroon striker Vincent Aboubakar has become the star of the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations. Aboubakar is by a long way its top goalscorer so far – boasting five formidable goals and feels Cameroon looks good to win on home soil come the 6th of February.

These two are the most talked about teams for the title with Ivory coast also looking good.

Chelsea and Senegal goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy sparked scenes of jubliation while away with Senegal at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations, after he became the first African to win FIFA's Best Goalkeeper award on Monday night.

The 29-year-old won the prestigious prize after a stellar year in between the sticks for Chelsea, where he helped guide the club to Champions League and UEFA Super Cup glory.

And after it was confirmed that he beat Gianluigi Donnarumma and Manuel Neuer to the award, he was treated like a hero by his Senegal team-mates in what was a heart-warming moment.
