Do you ever reject someone's Facebook friend request because of their name or profile picture? Let me tell you, I do!

When people send me friend requests, I first look at their names and profile pictures.
If your name starts with "Mhiz" or "itz" or any of those ridiculous ways GenZ kids spell their names, I simply ignore it. And if your profile picture is shabby, scary or unfamiliar, you're not getting accepted either!

I nearly lost an opportunity because I looked down on the client.

One thing freelancers do whenever a client reaches out is to run to their profile to do a background check. This is all just to avoid being scammed -freelance writers get scammed A LOT!

back to the gist, I checked out this person’s profile and my defences skyrocketed. It wasn't organised

Fool me once bla bla bla came to fore.
I became lackadaisical towards his offer. He wasn't going to have it. He wanted to work with me and kept messaging me to send a sample of works I'd written. Reluctantly, I shared my Linkedin Profile link with him and that was how I landed the gig.

It's been few years now and I've come to realise that big things sometimes come in small packages.

Never look down on your craft or someone else’s.

That big school you're killing yourself to work in may be your undoing.
They'd pay you so much but they'd take back every cent from you. You can ask around. 😁

I discovered my skills by first working at a SMALL school.

It's not wrong to do a background check on clients but do not make hasty conclusions to avoid losing big.

It's another Monday morning.

Whether in a relationship, career or work.
They won’t even ginger you. You’re the one always doing the ‘gingering’.

I’m not speaking about negative energy. No, far from that. Although, even at that sef, there’s a reason birds of a feather are said to flock together.

If all the ideas come from you.
If you have to beg them to patronize your market.
If you have to beg them for virtually everything.
If you don’t have supportive friends, my dear, discard them and find new ones.

I call these fluff.
People use this section of a CV to occupy space.
