Everyone online are busy dishing out hot takes on Moses Bliss's proposal following how simple his fiance looked.

Guinness World Records have awarded Chef Hilda Bacci her Record.
Though not for the complete 100 hours due to some calculation errors in the 5 minutes rest time per hour completed.
She was awarded 93 hours 11 minutes for the Longest Cooking Marathon(Individual)

Congratulations to Hilda and all of Nigeria!

So basically growing up, I always love to save the best for last.

I actually subscribed to that school of thought.
The way I was brought up also contributed in reinforcing this belief as my mother always made sure we eat the meat or fish last during meals.
In fact she'd make sure you're full before allowing you to eat meat.
Sometimes, if don't eat the food, No meat for you, to her "Onye g'erigh' nri, án'gh atá anụ".

A piece of meat seemed better than a full bowl of rice and beans with well garnished vegetables stew, I was sure.
That meat became the motivation for emptying the bowl.

I learnt to always Save The Best for Last!
This I had to unlearn soon!

During the last years of my primary school, I and my friends would always leave school during the afternoon break or recess to go pluck ripe mangoes and cashews and I would always select the not so good ones, those that fell & sustained wounds during the plucking and eat first, leaving the fresh fine ones to be eaten last.
My friends always warned me of the dangers involved but Nwa Okankwú never listened.
Until one day that I had only one fresh fine one that as usual I had saved for last.

Very fine, firm, robust, fresh, sizeable Mango.
I was fantasizing using it to "clean my mouth" after I have finished eating the "not so good" ones.
But immediately after I ate the last bad one and proceeded to take my crown jewel of a mango, an elderly woman walking by called out to me and asked I please give it to her.

What! Ma please don't do this!
Don't do this to Ma!
Biko, Kócho Ma!
But of course I never said any of this out.
I wanted to refuse, but no na, You're can't do that!
Not to this woman; Someone's mother o.
So I gave it to her and she thanked me and went her way.
My friend laughed at me. I Cried inside for 600 years!
That day I unlearned saving the best for last and re-learned eating anyone I pick up at the time.

But where I'm going with this is a story shared by a colleague I used to work with.
He was/is a dancer and had gone for a local talent show in their community some time ago.
Among the other contestants was a guy my colleague knew was a way better dancer than he is.
In fact He looks up to this guy.
Wants to be like him when he grows up.
My colleague was sure this guy would win the grand prize.

For the first rounds, my colleague went on stage, did his thing and won the round.
This bhad ass dancer went on stage for his first, decided not to put in much energy, you know, na small thing na, He was saving his mhad moves and stunts for the final stages, but unfortunately he was disqualified in that first round.
He never got to use the best moves he was saving for the last stages.

What do we learn here?
Whenever you're doing anything, basically anything!
As far the system is not a closed one controlled by You, please go in with your best effort in the very first round.
In a competition, saving your best move for later maybe be disappointing, you might not get to that later.
In life, procrastination has never gotten anything done.
