TWO IN ONE CHIEFTAINCY INSTALLATION IN ABONNEMA
The city of Abonnema was agog yesterday 30th march 2024 as they witnessed The conferment of double chieftaincy by the Abonnema divisional Council of traditional ruler and chiefs.
The ceremony started on the 29th where the chairman of the council of Chiefs His Royal Majesty King DISRAEL GOBO BOB-MANUEL ii EKINEYE GBOBO, OWUKORI ix, ESQ KSC DSSRS The Amanyanabo and Paramount Ruler of Abonnema and it's satellite communities and other Paramount heads of Oruwari, Iju, and Otaji group or houses and their council members screened the secretary to the state Government Hon. Dr, Tammy Wenike Danagogo to become Chief elect, and the installation proper took place at the Opu Da Iju memorial hall the SSG, was first installed as Chief. Dr, Wenike Tammy Danagogo then on his grandfather's stool as Chief Sokari Danagogo Omieba Twofia Standfast Jack of the Iju Jack war canue group of houses.
The Amanyanabo of Bakana, Idama, and Ifoko where also in attendance.
We say congratulations Double Chief and kudos to the Abonnema Council of traditional ruler and chiefs for a job well done and adding a worthy son of the soil into their fold.

A COURTESY VISIT BY THE KALABARI MEDIA FORUM

Yesterday 28th March the Kalabari media forum visited the Palace of the Amanyanabo and Paramount Ruler of Abonnema and its satellite Communities, His Royal Majesty King DISRAEL GOBO BOB-MANUEL ii , EKINEYE GBOBO OWUKORI ix, ESQ , KSC DSSRS.
The group of journalists was led by Chief Dagogo Clinton, who read their address , and also informed His Royal Majesty that similar visits will be paid to other Monarchs within the Kalabari Ethnic Nationality. They explained that the visit was with a view to seeking the Monarch's support for the forum in a bid to resolveling the disconnect in our Communities and for the Kalabari people to focus on the Pan Kalabari projects amongst other things. The forum also made a three point demand 1) that His Majesty, the Amanyanabo and Paramount Ruler of Abonnema should help them take this message to other Kalabari Monarchs. 2) to help them rally other Kalabari Monarchs to start attending the Kalabari se-kobri to further strengthen the Pan Kalabari movement to be able to speak with one voice. 3) to help them endorse their proposal.
His Royal Majesty welcomed them and encouraged them for showing concern about the Pan Kalabari project . His Royal Majesty promised to attend to their request. His Majesty, however, expressed his disappointment in the increasing disrespect for traditional institutions by a few persons in Kalabari. He further stressed that the Kalabari people must speak with one voice. His Majesty, the king of Abonnema, promised to support them to achieve their aims

UNJUST AND WRONG INSINUATION
The Abonnema Divisional council of traditional ruler and chiefs has suffered some series of deaths, most recent was the death of Chief Charles Sekibo the father of Akuku-Toru Local Government Area Chairman which left the council of Chiefs in mourning, but there is a rumour making the rounds that the deaths may be connected to the 11 war canue houses or founding fathers as some may call it. Death is natural and if it happens that three or four chiefs die in series does not mean a bad omen . This rumour is being pedalled by mischiev makers to tanish the image and good work being done by the Amanyanabo and his Council of chiefs, It seems everything is tied to the eleven war canue houses matter. Those spreading the rumour should desist from doing so forthwith or will face the wrath of the land for accusing the gods of the land wrongly.

THANK YOU YOUR ROYAL MAJESTY.
The good people of Abonnema (Nyemoni) and the entire Kalabari people are saying thank you to your Royal Majesty KING [DR.] DISRAEL GBOBO BOB-MANUEL ii, ESQ, KSC. DSSRS. EKINEYE GBOBO, OWUKORI IX, The Amanyanabo and Paramount Ruler of Abonnema. This is as a result of the King's prompt intervention in the Ipokuma/Degema crises to forestall any further casualties and bring peace to the area.
The warm reception accorded to the Ipokuma Community who came to seek audience together with their King, Chiefs, Ward Councilor was applauded .
Also, in attendance were representatives of the Ijaw Youth Council Kalabari Se Ikpangi ably led by comrade Edward Asiki Tams . They were received by some members of the Abonnema Divisional Council of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs, including Paramount heads of Otaji and iju groups of chieftaincy Houses, the Chairman of Akuku-Toru Local Government Area Hon[ Dr] Rowland. C. Sekibo and other stakeholders .
The Ipokuma Community formally laid their complain to His Royal Majesty about the crises, and His Royal Majesty, the Amanyanabo of Abonnema, assured them that the matter will be looked into.
The Amanyanabo further assured them that A PEACE MEETING WILL BE CALLED AMONGST BOTH PARTIES AND ENCOURAGED THEM TO CONTINUE TO BE LAW ABIDING.
The Amanyanabo also told the Ipokuma people NOT to take matters into their own hands but instead allow law enforcement agencies to maintain peace.

A COURTESY VISIT TO THE PALACE
The two new officers in charge of the Nigerian Army and the Navy Abonnema Division today 1st March 2024 namely lieutenant Commander L. Livinus of the Navy and Captain J. M. Ahmed of the Army paid a courtesy visit to the palace of the Amanyanabo and Paramount Ruler of Abonnema King DISRAEL GOBO BOB-MANUEL ii EKINEYE GBOBO OWUKORI ix ESQ KSC DSSRS the head of their host Community they where escorted and introduced to the King by the Chief security officer of the Local Government Area comrade Damiete Dokubo.
His Royal Majesty welcomed them and gave them words of encouragement and to consult him where needed

IT WAS A COLOURFUL EVENT AT THE 10th YEAR ANNIVERSARY AND THANKSGIVING OF THE A. K U. L. G. A WIDOWS FELLOWSHIP IN CONJUNCTION WITH FRIENDS OF HEIRS OF ESTHER RELIEF OUTREACH
The event started at the Redeemed Christian church of God opposite the bank in Abonnema by 9:am the event was filled with prayers testimonies and thanksgiving after which the reception took place at the residence of Dr Wenike Tammy Danagogo. (SSG) Residence where colorful display by various groups including the widows performed
The climax of the event saw the awarding of plaques to SSG and his wife the L. G. A. Chairman Honourable Rowland Charles Sekibo and others for their contribution and support towards the widows, pictures can not tell all that happened.
