Weldon!
Recently, Nigerian Billionaire and philanthropist, Tony Elumelu wrote about how luck had played a huge role in his many successes and he went on to encourage others to prepare themselves for such too.
While this inspired many hundreds of persons, I came across one comment from someone who countered him, saying he is lying.
I shook my head in dismay, not just because I disagree with this commenter but rather because I have experienced through time that somehow, those who are not at par with you seem to hold strong suggestions against you.
One would expect that if someone knows something better, then it should work for him/her but NO, it is usually the other way round with them.
This reminds me of a lady who countered my claim that one could earn as high as $1,000 and more with Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing using just a Smartphone or PC.
I was alarmed and so I asked her to justify why she said so but to my surprise, she couldn't defend herself and my heart wept at her sheer ignorance.
Listen, dear friend, luck is not the absence of competence but in fact, it is when opportunity meets preparation.
The Scripture wasn't wrong when it said below:
"I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all."
Ecclesiastes 9:11 KJV
It is possible that you have the best of skills or degree like a certain man who graduated with first class in Mechanical Engineering but ended up a bricklayer somewhere and was using that to cater for his family.
Fortunately, a content creator was on set around the vicinity where he was working and they came across each other.
He was interviewed, the video went viral and then calls of favour started coming from all over the place.
If you have followed great people like Cosmas Maduka and Ibukun Awosika, then you'd probably understand this much better through their stories.
Irrespective of what you're doing, be it ministry or business or a certain career path, there are breakthroughs that can only happen by "luck" and this is why you must be very discerning.
Be discerning in your relationships especially because like Proverbs 31:30 says, you may do all the butt-padding or otherwise as you wish as a lady but sorry to say, you still may not be guaranteed of a godly man.
Life is beyond what is seen or heard; there are many salient factors acting out all that you witness around.
A diligent man would take time to observe and seek ways to partner with everything which provides for a truly enriching life.
You know, I also recall another surprising partnership which happened earlier this year for me which generated almost .
I didn't know it could work as it did but the great fellow who brought up the idea also steered up faith in me and we went ahead.
There is someone here who is expecting a big break too, I want you to know it is locked up in a certain "luck" you'll find.
Could it be found by volunteering somewhere? Or is it hidden in a gateman called Mordecai? Or is it some skills you should acquire as soon as possible? Or is there someone you should be apologising to so your heaven can be opened? Or what if you're just in a season where God is training you?
Well, it is all left to you to find out yourself and it's my hope that angels bring you glad tidings indeed.
Shalom. 🥂🙏
