In Christian theology, a "celestial shepherd" typically refers to Jesus Christ, who is often described as the Good Shepherd who tends to His flock, which represents believers or the Church. The concept of shepherding a church or being a shepherd in a spiritual sense is often associated with pastoral or ministerial roles within a religious context.

Regarding the question of whether a celestial shepherd (such as Jesus) can shepherd a church and also work in a secular sense, the Bible does not explicitly address this specific scenario. However, there are principles and teachings in the Bible that can be applied to this situation.

1. **The Value of Work:** The Bible emphasizes the value of work and diligence. In Colossians 3:23-24, it is stated, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters... It is the Lord Christ you are serving." This verse suggests that whatever work a person engages in, they should do it as unto the Lord, with dedication and excellence.

2. **Ministerial and Secular Responsibilities:** While shepherding a church or ministry is a significant responsibility that requires time and attention, there is also recognition in the Bible of the need for individuals to provide for themselves and their families through work. In 1 Timothy 5:8, it states, "Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever." This verse underscores the importance of meeting one's financial obligations and responsibilities.

3. **Tithing:** Tithing is the practice of giving a portion of income (traditionally one-tenth) to support the work of the church or ministry. In Malachi 3:10, it says, "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it." This verse highlights the principle of tithing for the support of the church's work and the promise of blessings for those who faithfully give.

In summary, while there is no specific directive in the Bible that prohibits a celestial shepherd from working in a secular job while shepherding a church, it is essential for individuals to prioritize their spiritual responsibilities, provide for their families, and support the work of the church through tithing and service. Ultimately, each person's situation may vary, and seeking wise counsel and guidance through prayer and discernment is encouraged in making decisions related to balancing work and spiritual responsibilities.

Heavenly Father,

As the day begins, I humbly approach your throne of grace to offer a special prayer for all the celestial beings who surround your divine presence. I thank you for their constant guidance, protection, and love that they extend to us, your children, here on Earth.

Lord, I pray that you grant strength and wisdom to the angels, who tirelessly watch over us and engage in spiritual warfare. Allow their presence to be felt, as they continue to fight against the forces of darkness, ensuring that your divine plan prevails.

In your infinite mercy, Heavenly Father, I ask that you bless the cherubim, who stand guard at your holy throne. May their wings shield us from harm, and may their constant praise of your name inspire our hearts to seek your glory.

Father, I also lift up the seraphim, who stand in your presence, constantly proclaiming your holiness. May their burning passion for your glory ignite a fire within our souls, drawing us closer to you each day.

Lord, as we meditate on your Word, I pray that you grant the heavenly beings the ability to rejoice with us in our moments of triumph and to provide comfort in times of sorrow. Help us to remember that we are never alone, for they are by our side, guiding and supporting us in accordance with your perfect will.

As we seek your grace, Heavenly Father, I pray for the celestial members to be a tangible reminder of your unfailing love and faithfulness. May they serve as a testament to your divine providence, guiding us closer to your presence and leading us on the paths of righteousness.

I conclude this prayer, Heavenly Father, by citing the words of Psalm 91:11-12, "For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. On their hands, they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone."

May your celestial members continue to fulfill their purpose, glorifying your name and spreading your love throughout the universe. In Jesus' name, I pray.

To all the Shepherds of the Celestial Church of Christ worldwide,

I address you with love and a deep sense of responsibility, knowing that as shepherds, you play a crucial role in guiding and nurturing the members of your congregations. Today, I want to speak to you on the topic of fornication and the need for caution when it comes to adultery.

In our pursuit of spiritual growth and the spreading of God's word, it is important for us to lead by example. We must hold ourselves to the highest standards of morality and avoid any actions that may compromise our integrity or cause stumbling blocks for others. Fornication and adultery are among the sins that can have a profound impact on our relationships with God and our fellow believers.

The Bible provides us with guidance on this matter, reminding us of the importance of sexual purity and fidelity. In Proverbs 6:32, it states, "But a man who commits adultery has no sense; whoever does so destroys himself." This verse serves as a powerful reminder of the damaging consequences of adultery. Not only does it harm the individuals involved, but it also has the potential to damage families, communities, and the church as a whole.

As shepherds, we are entrusted with the spiritual well-being of our flock, and it is our duty to lead them towards righteousness. We must be vigilant in our own lives, avoiding temptations and setting a positive example for others to follow. In 1 Corinthians 6:18, it advises, "Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body." By fleeing from sexual immorality, we demonstrate our commitment to honoring God and respecting the sanctity of marriage.

Let us also consider the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:27-28, "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall not commit adultery.' But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart." This passage emphasizes the need for purity not only in our physical actions but also in our thoughts and desires. Let us guard our hearts and minds, seeking God's strength to resist temptation and remain faithful.

Remember, as shepherds, we have a sacred duty to lead our flock with wisdom and compassion. Let us guide our members towards the path of righteousness, encouraging them to uphold the principles of purity and to honor their commitments to God and their spouses. May our actions reflect the love of Christ, and may we inspire others to follow in his footsteps.

Take heed of these words, my fellow shepherds, and let us remain vigilant in our pursuit of a life free from fornication and adultery. May the grace of God empower and guide us, and may our ministry be a beacon of light and righteousness in this world.

Bible Quotes:
1. "But a man who commits adultery has no sense; whoever does so destroys himself." - Proverbs 6:32
2. "Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body." - 1 Corinthians 6:18
3. "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall not commit adultery.' But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart." - Matthew 5:27-28

May these words and Bible quotes serve as a reminder and guide as you navigate the responsibilities of your shepherding roles. May you lead by example and help others to find strength and conviction in maintaining their commitment to purity and faithfulness. May God's grace be with you all.

With warm regards,

Evangelist Adebiyi Adewunmi
