Brenda Nokuzola Fassie was a South African singer, songwriter, dancer and activist.

Affectionately called MaBrrr by her fans, she is also known as the "Queen of African Pop", the "Madonna of The Townships" or simply as The Black Madonna.

She was born on 3rd November 1964 at Langa, Cape Town, South Africa. She died on the 9th of May 2004 (aged 39 years) at Sunninghill, same South Africa.

She is popularly known for her hit track Vulindlela which has gathered multiple millions of views across all media platforms and was vibed to all over the world.

She was the niece of the famous activist-turned-president, Nelson Mandela, and held many of the same political stances throughout her life.

She brought South African and of course African music to the limelight. Let's remember her 🥰❤️👏🏽
