I Spent 24Yrs In Prison For Following Friend To Police Station - Lukman Adeyemi

Sharing his story with Vanguard, he said: "I am Lukman Adeyemi, a native of Iwerele, Iwajowa Local Government, Oyo State. I am a Bricklayer by profession. I was 26 years old when I had this problem.

"In August 2000, after returning home from work with a friend living with me, Ismaila Lasisi, we were told that the Police came to look for Ismaila and he was asked to report himself in the station. I immediately decided to follow him to the station, lo and behold I was arrested and detained along with him. I was tortured to the point of death over a crime I knew nothing about, right from the police station.

I had a close shave with the death over a murder of a woman who was hired by some ex-friends of Ismaila Lasisi to fetch water for them at the construction site. The woman left home in the morning and she never returned home. Ismaila Lasisi once lived with them. He begged to come and live with me after he had a misunderstanding with these people in March. I knew these people from a far distance. Our paths never crossed in life for anything. This was how I was charged to court along with these people over an offence I never had any knowledge of.

In 2009 we were sentenced to death. We filed separate appeals but the appeal failed to the Supreme Court. My story of innocence to whoever cared to listen fell on deaf ears, with many questioning, ‘If you’re not one of them, why mention your name?’ ‘If truly you are innocent why can’t court free you?’

I felt abandoned by truth itself. I spent 24 years behind bars like 24 hours, a sleepless night that lasted for two decades. In June 2023 one of the officers of the Correctional Service, Deputy Superintendent of Correctional (DSC) AbdulKareem Awesu introduced my case to a Pastor and I spoke with him on phone.

On 17th July 2023, a group Centre for Justice Mercy and Reconciliation, CJMR, led by Pastor Hezekiah Olujobi visited us at the Ibara Correctional Service where they listened to all of us including the culprits who exonerated us. The organization went with all our judgement and shed light on our innocence.

June 14, 2024, shall remain evergreen and memorable day in my life. Light shone upon me, rain fell on my head for the first time and I saw the moon for the first time. I never knew I could pay for the sin of another man. How could I have committed an offense and still boldly walk into a police station to report myself?

"I was at work that very faithful day when i got the news that, My wife had just given birth, this was my first child, you can imagine how excited i was. Everyone at work was happy for me & we all celebrated. I immidiately took permission from my boss to go see my son & the mom at the hospital, he told me it was ok & even gave me some cash to buy something for my wife & the baby.

I stood at the roadside waiting for a taxi, it took me about 12 mins to get one. 5 people were inside including the driver, i had already called my wife & informed her, i was on my way, i noticed that the driver was on high speed. I asked him severally to slow down but he kept ignoring, it was the third time that he finally responded angrily, saying that he has been driving for more than 13yrs & that i shouldn't teach him his job.

I seemed to be the only one complaining, as i noticed the other passengers were all quiet about it so, i decided to let go & stay mute as well. It was after about 10 mins of driving when, it all happened. The driver was trying to over take a heavy truck. After that, i only saw myself at the hospital after about 12hrs & i was told that, i was the only person in the vehicle that survived the accdnt & thats how i got to this stage of having just One leg

Well, i thank God for life, though ,i cry at times especially when i come across my old pictures. I remember, how i used to walk on both legs, but it's ok now😥🤦😭 i believe God has a reason for every circumstance in our lives. He saved me for a reason & I'm thankful"

This is Scary...

Her name is Ncumisa...

In 2016, Ncumisa Selani suspected that her Malawian boyfriend named Michael Changisa infected her with HIV.

Ncumisa was disappointed and hired her other boyfriend from Zimbabwe named Michael Phiri to "eliminate" Mike.

Phiri successfully carried out the hit and they buried Mike in Ncumisa's house.

A year after, Phiri moved into the same house with Ncumisa and her two sons aged 17 & 10.

In the process of cohabiting together, Phiri allegedly abused Ncumisa.
Ncumisa cried to her 17 year old son and mother and son conspired to eliminate Phiri and buried him on top of Mike's body in the same house.

In 2018, Ncumisa's now 18-year-old son started doing drvgs - probably caused by the psychological effects of witnessing multiple mvrders.
The boy would constantly blackmail his mother demanding for money for drvgs with threats to expose her mom to the police if she fails to buy him drvgs.

Again, Ncumisa planned and eliminated her own son and buried him on top of her 2 boyfriends' bodies in the house. Her last son witnessed everything.

In 2020, Ncumisa's last now 14 year old son got sick. She took him to a traditional healer to find out what was wrong with him. During the consultation, the son confessed to the traditional healer about the 3 mvrders as he believed they were the reason he got sick.

The traditional healer reported to the police station and she was secretly investigated until her arrest.

Yesterday, she was sentenced to lifetime in prison. Unfortunately, South Africa doesn't punish mvrderers with d£ath sentence.

What's the world turning into?

I found this report on Olu thando's page and edited out some portions. The news is now viral.

You were supposed to meet someone in a distant location you had never visited before. Even though you were given the address, it was challenging to find the place.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣⁣
After what felt like an eternity wandering the streets in the scorching sun, you finally arrived at your destination.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣⁣
“Welcome, Mr. Bakare. I hope it wasn't difficult for you to find this place?” your host asked.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣⁣
"Not really," you replied, trying hard to hide your frustration.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣⁣
You were angry, hungry, and exhausted but didn’t want to ask for food. It would be unprofessional, you reasoned.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣⁣
“Sorry, Mr. Bakare. Before we start the meeting, you should eat something. Do you mind a plate of fried rice and chicken?”⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Your sullen face suddenly broke into a smile, “Yes, I do,” you responded.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Your host cast a glance at you in amazement, wondering why you would reject his offer. “Okay, if you say so,” turning to the waiter, “Waiter, please don't worry about it. My partner isn't hungry,” he stated.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣⁣
In your mind, you were wondering why the man didn’t understand simple English. But the truth is, you were the one who gave the wrong answer.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Listen, when you say you mind something, then it means it is a bother to you. In other words, it is somewhat a problem to you and, in effect, you are saying, “No” you don’t want it! But if you do not mind, then, it means you want it. Hence, you are saying “Yes, give it to me!”⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Now that you know better, what would have been the correct answer to the host’s question? Let’s see.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Host: Do you mind a plate of fried rice and chicken?”⁣⁣
You: No, I don’t mind. (This means you want a plate of fried rice and chicken)⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Let’s consider more examples:⁣⁣
1. Do you mind a bottle of Coke? No, I don’t. (It means you want a bottle of Coke)⁣⁣
2. Do you mind if I smoke? Yes, I do. (It means you don’t want the speaker to smoke)⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I hope you learned something from this lesson!⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Now, do you mind if I share more English grammar lessons?⁣⁣ 😀

• A journalist asks Cristiano Ronaldo: “Why does your mother still live with you? Why don’t you build a house for her?” Cristiano Ronaldo replies: “My mother raised me and dedicated her life to me.”
She would go to bed hungry, just to let me eat.
We had no money at all. I worked 7 days a week and nights as a maid to buy my first shoes so I could become a player. All my success is dedicated to her and because of her and as long as she has a life, she will always be by my side, she has everything I can give.
She is my refuge and my greatest gift ❤️

"He simply stood there, instantly quiet, withdrawn. Not merely startled but completely washed and broken.

"Oh God!" he'd screamed, voice harsh like the sound of a shattered dragon shell, "so Uncle James has succeeded? Uncle James finally killed my father!" He said, eyes red with no tears, slapping hard on the cement wall. He slapped it again and again and shook his head violently.

This young muscular man had just lost his father. Outside were his mother and two younger siblings, crying and pouring tears like rain. People around had paused with a hush. The weeping had pierced everyone's soul.

"Ozugozienu. God knows the best. It's well, take heart," a few of them had consoled.

The young man ran out suddenly, his dad's body still lifeless on the stretcher. He lipped into his car and the tyres almost instantly screeching out into the far distance, to everyone's shock, wild imagination and fear.

The doctors had said that his father suffered a stroke with a kind of heavy bleeding inside his skull which was too late upon their arrival. The doctors further hinted that he might have been hypertensive but perhaps didn't know or control it.

But it obviously didn't matter what the doctors said or what the dead father had. No one cared; there was his son, speeding in grief and daze in pursuit of vengeance for a well innocent uncle, yet a lot could happen on the road before home for which the uncle could equally be held responsible."

The crazy belief of our people😢

WHETHER YOU ARE MARRIED OR NOT, READ THIS AND LEARN.

"Dad, can you loan me Five Hundred Thousand Naira?" Kola asked his father.

"What for son?", his father asked.

"For my wedding. By our calculations, we're falling short meeting the cost".

Kola had come to meet his parents with his fiancé.

"Your wedding? How much is the total cost of the wedding?", his father asked.

"N3.6 million. We're thinking of starting the committee next week. We can together give about eight hundred thousand and expect our friends to help us raise about two million. I remember you told me if ever I need help I can come to you" Kola answered.

His father held him by the shoulder and said
"Go get your wife and come meet me at my study room".
"Yes dad", Kola obliged.
Minutes later, Kola and his fiancé,Tomilayo walked into his father's study room.
"Having a good time my daughter?" Kola's
father asked.
"Yes I am. You and your wife are so hospitable. I pray that Kola and I can emulate your marriage. You are an admirable couple" answered Kola's fiance.
"Thank you. I am delighted to have you as my daughter. This is your home, you're welcome anytime", said father.
They sat down.
"Thank you dad"
"So, I hear you want to spend N3.6 million for your wedding and you need me to help with five hundred thousand?", asked father.
"Yes, we will greatly appreciate" said the fiancé.
"The wedding will be at the Total Garden Ibadan in about six months time", said Kola.
"Why do you want to have a big wedding?",
father asked.

"Well, it's our big day. She's always dreamt of a big wedding", Kola replied.
"Have you dreamt of a big wedding or a strong marriage?", The father asked the fiancé.
"When you put it that way, it's more of a strong marriage" said the fiancé.
"Good. You've answered wisely. So who do you expect to come for your wedding?", asked the father.
"Friends and relatives. About seven hundred people", answered Kola.

"How many true friends do you really have?",
I mean friends who have been tried and tested to be there for you through thick and thin?, asked the father.
Kola and Tomilayo looked at each other.
"Countable", the fiancé answered.
"So who are these other people who will come to your wedding?", asked the father.
Silence.
"OK. Let's go to the relatives. I know you love your relatives, but how many are really close to you? You barely talk with the many relatives you have", said the father.

"What are you trying to say dad?" asked Kola.
"My son, my daughter; why do you want to spend N3.6 million on a wedding, a one day event yet you need the money in your marriage? Look, you are actually coming to ask me for money, you will form a
committee to ask people for money; all to show off and please people who will not even matter in your marriage"
Silence.

The father continued, "Let me share with you my experience. When I married your mother, we spent about a million for the wedding. That was a lot of money then. We fed people, got stressed by service providers, just so that we put up a wedding that will win the applause of a crowd. But as soon as we got married, the crowd disappeared. All the issues that your mother and I went through, no one cared, even family couldn't do much. Every one is busy living their life. When things got tough, the crowd gossiped about us, some even seemed happy that our marriage was in trouble" Silence.

"I have seen this script repeated over and over. Brides get stressed on their wedding day, they can't even enjoy, couples being angry at friends who don't support them financially, the worst part is starting marriage in debt or struggling financially.
Do you know a wedding doesn't have to cost so much, it doesn't have to be stressful, it doesn't have to be full of people who perhaps will never talk to you again?" added the father.
"But dad, what will people think if we do a small wedding or we don't invite them?"asked the fiancé.
"Are you getting married for people? If you have a small wedding with only the witnesses who matter, will you two not be married? What is all this competition of who has a grand wedding for?

People are competing on Facebook, in weddings; why this need to show off? You know that money you are about to blow in one day, you can use it to invest in your marriage, you can start the process of buying or building a home, you can save up for the needs of the children you will have because you need money to raise a family.
Why not start your marriage financially healthy and not in debt?
Marriage is what is more important than a
wedding", continued the father.
"Dad, if you don't want to support us it's
okay", said Kola.
The fiancé stopped him saying, "No my love,
dad has a point. I actually find the idea of a
small wedding not just wise and
economical, but also intimate. Marriage is
just you and me, not people".

The father spoke, "My son, in all the years
you have been a man, you have never come
to me asking for money, but now you are
asking for money to put up a show? I look
further, I look at your marriage. I admire
how people come together in a wedding
committee to raise money and I wonder,
what if couples and people use that same
energy to put up a business that will uplift
families. Those members who will be part of
your wedding committee, imagine if they
become your investors, imagine if you build
a company where you can make profit and
feed your homes. Something sustainable."
Kola and his fiancé nodded.
"My son, I have longed for the day you
would come and ask me to invest in your
business idea. But today I will make the first
move", the father said taking his cheque
book from his drawer.
He wrote on the cheque then gave it to the
fiancé.

"Here my son, this is a cheque of five million
naira, not for your wedding but as start up
capital for a business of your choice. I am
giving the cheque to your wife because as
the Proverbs 31 woman said, she is to walk
with you in building an empire for your
family. Focus on your family, give your family
the best; forget about the public and
opinions of people who don't matter. Build
a future for your family. Build your family on
a foundation of surplus not debt".
"Thank you so much" said the fiancé.
Kola stood up with tears in his eyes. His
father stood up too.
The father and son hugged.

"Thank you dad for being a great figure and
your counsel. I don't know what to say. You
have challenged me not to merely get
married but to have a vision, a vision for my
family. I don't know what to say" he spoke.
The father held his shoulder, "You will make
a great husband and father. I wish I had the
same counsel when I was getting married,
all those people I fed on my wedding day
didn't add value to my marriage. In fact, if I
was to organize an event and feed
multitudes, I would do so for the less
fortunate and those in need.

Marriage is not for show.

DEAR MARRIED MEN,

åNobody will tell you this but I will;
If you want to go far in life, love your wife, take good care of her, make her happy and her prayers will open doors for you.

åRemember when things go down healthwise or financially for you, only your wife will feed you and will be there for you. Most of your friends and side chicks will abandon you!

åAnd lastly, that lady you think is better than your wife, it's because she is not living with you. Bro, invest in your woman!

Good day sir. Let me go straight to the point.
My husband started dating my neighbour. A single lady and before I knew it they got serious and he threw me out of his life. I wasn't doing anything then. I cri3d and begged everyone to help me beg my husband. I also accepted to still be his wife and let the new girl come in but my husband refused. He insisted on marrying the girl and want her to be his only wife.
My world f3ll apart and I cri3d everyday and night. When I heard about his wedding to the new girl I almost took sni^er but Grace of God held me. So I moved on. But life was meaningless until I met a man who helped me stand back on my feet. He supported me and gave me huge sum of money to start a business.
Sir I am doing well now for myself. This new guy wants to marry me and when my father called my ex husband to come and collect my bride price he refused and said he still want me back.
Sir the truth is I still love my ex husband. I have tried to end my chapter with him but it's not working. Though he is not willing to send the new wife away. He said his culture doesn't forbid him to marry two women. He said I still remain his first wife and the other one his second wife and that is ok by me. I have been so happy since I heard that. Sir even if he doesn't have money to get a separate house for us I can sort myself out and get myself an apartment where he can come and be visiting. I just want to have him in my life. I love him a lot sir. My problem is the other guy that have helped me. I have given him the assurance I love him and I will marry him. I don't know how to go about telling him I'm still my ex husband's wife and I cannot live without him. I am scar3d he might do something drastic because he had spent a lot to help me. What do I do sir? Pls help me post and tell your followers to advise me.

VALUE OF COW DUNGS!

In some parts of Nigeria, Mostly in Ebonyi and Enugu state, cow dung is used for plastering of house. This is an excreted dungs from cows. It smoothens the house and makes it very beautiful.

This was the only method of plastering houses in the olden days in Africa before the invention or production of cement. This is mostly common with Enugu and Ebonyi state in the Eastern part of Nigeria. Though, it smells very bãd at the moment it is applied on the floor, but fades away after few hours.

Some villages in these states still make use of it till today. What do you think?

A Song At Crossroad

Hunger in this land is no longer an ill
Just like d€a+h that's now a clarion call.
The dwarfs have taken lead of the tall
And turn to ask them how they feel.

Whoever beholds dawn should praise God
For many have slept and never seen again.
How fast the pride of this land is gored
By blind avatars in pursuit of personal gain.

Should we watch and sink along
Like a dream by the waterside?
Should the weak go on to undo the strong
In a land of a deluge of muscles astride?

Night has come once again
Here where dawn is a privilege, not as of right
As death stares at us when life we bargain.
O, when shall everything about us be alright?

"My husband knew me when I was in great difficulty, my boyfriend had just aband0n€∆ me with a pregnancy. My husband accepted me and my daughter, he told everyone that he was the father.

After giving birth he married me, I had 2 children with him, he opened a business for me. The problem there is, he hasn't worked for a year, it's me who takes care of everything with my business and I'm really tired of taking care of him.

And now the father of my first child has returned to the country and he has the means. I decided to introduce him to his child, he initially denied it but after a paternity test, he recognized his child and he was proud and very happy. Since then, he has helped me a lot financially, I must admit that I still have feelings for him, I don't how it happened but I fell off when I stopped by his house to show him his child.

My real concern is that he is asking me to leave my husband so that he can marry me and take me along to overseas. I want to have the opinion of your subscribers, and what to do with my 2 children that I had with my husband, in case I decide to leave with my ex. Help me make a decision please "🙏🙏.

Igbere TV, My Friend Opened My Drink When I Went Out, Now This Is Happening 👇👇👇 |

You went out with your friend to the bar, you ordered for drinks, but before they brought the drinks, you went out to make a call. When you came back, your friend has already opened it for you and even poured it in the glass.

You asked him why he did that, he said the waiter wanted to use the opener for another customer so he said let him kuku open it for you.

You move the drink one side and order for another drink. Why you guys finished drinking, you paid for the drink he opened which you didn't drink along with the ones you drank.

When you get home you receive a WhatsApp from this supposed friend asking you what you see him as, that are you trying to say he was trying to p0!§0n you? You try to reply him but he has already blocked you on Whatsapp. You try to call him but it's showing busy meaning he has blocked your number as well.

Did I do something wrong. Why would you open a drink and pour it out for someone when he didn't ask you to do so?
