ASSURANCE OF SALVATION .................................................

Introduction: An assurance is a guarantee that what is said or what is assured is really what is.
That somebody is born again and as a result saved from sin and its damning consequences has to be authenticated within the heart of the recipient. If this guarantee is absent/lacking, then that experience becomes a subject of doubt which ultimately will lead the penitent into a ship-wreck.

Because it is not the will of God that any person that has been saved should slip back any more into the miry clay of sin, He gives a guarantee to assure the believer of what he/she has received. (1Jn 3:19-22)

Let us look at the features of the heart that is assured of the work of salvation that has taken place therein.
There is no condemnation of the guilt of sin any more (Jn. 3:20-22). A heart fully forgiven of sin does not feel guilty any more of the past sins that have been confessed. This is what makes the child of God to speak with boldness even though he/she remembers what he/she was in time past (1Tim. 1:12-16)
This guiltless conscience is made possible by the indwelling Spirit of God who has come in to settle in your heart on the day of your salvation by your invitation (Rom. 8:16; 2Cor. 1:22; Rev. 3:20)
There is love for the undiluted truth of God’s word, a progressive pressure for deeper knowledge of God’s mind and a satisfying pleasure in living a holy life that satisfies the Spirit of God in you (2Tim. 1:12; Rom. 8:38-39)
A saved soul filled with assurance of the genuineness of his new found faith is not easily swerved from the foundation of truth (Eph. 4:14)
The fore-going is so because the indwelling Spirit of God – the Holy Ghost/Spirit guides you into what is the truth and mind of God (Jn. 16:13; 1 Cor. 2:11-12)

Most Christians that are into the error of living, are victims of such, simply because they might have falsely assumed they were born again or were really born again, but never found themselves in true Bible preaching and Believing congregation with genuinely saved teaching priests whose duty it is to guide the children of God into god-revealed truths. For this reason, I enjoin you to look for a genuinely Bible-believing and professing congregation where the concern of the Minister is the eternal well-being of the souls of the adherents.
There is a full awareness while here on earth of what your eternal rewards are when you serve the Lord diligently here on earth not wavering by the pressure of this world (1Jn. 3:2; 1Cor. 2:9-10)
Child of God, do you have this assurance? If not, why not? Why not pray for a greater assurance?
