As Facebook monetizes Nigeria next month, June, for you to earn, you have to register your page as a company with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). You'll have to generate a Tax Identification number (TIN) from the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) or from a state revenue office. A slight option will be that you attach another person's bank account details to the Facebook's payout space. Such a person must have subscribed to government's tax mechanism which is a prerequisite for earning at the end of the month. Facebook will be deducting the tax return to the government at source. You're now given what's left of the money you have earned at the end of the month. For Facebook, 21 days make a month. You may have to process the money say three days after 21st of each month.

Facebook pays like this: June's earning will be credited to you in July. July's will come in August. August's will come in September and so on. Nobody yet knows if it'll be paying in dollars to Nigerian users or in naira. Knowing full well that Nigerians like to cut corners, Facebook might modify the monetization requirements for Nigeria such that it'll be a little more difficult to meet the requirements than it's outside of Nigeria. Facebook will also be very vigilant in monitoring monetized platforms in Nigeria knowing how desperate most Nigerian creators are. There'll be no mercy whenever anyone goes against the community standards of Facebook. Fixing it and returning to the monetization status will be difficult and time- taking. Rules for Nigerian content creators will be much. The Facebook's algorithm and crawler will be very active in monitoring the accounts from here. It'll be an avenue for government to track and punish anyone who goes contrary to the ethics of communication and public behaviourial pattern. Your earning for the month might be diverted to a physical location you'll be told to go and cash it. Once you enter there, your two hands will become one.

While everyone is creating pages in readiness for the miracle of June, 60% of these pages will be abandoned by their owners when they have realized that creating contents is not an easy task. You need not reminded that Facebook only monetizes video contents and not likes, shares or comments or write-ups. For you to earn, it must be video contents originally created by you which have not appeared anywhere else. Only those who have the financial and intellectual wherewithal will be able to cope with the exigencies of content creating. I'm talking as someone who owns a monetized platform.

I wish you Quick Recovery Ejima.

Ejima had accident outside the state and broke his leg, he was brought back home.

Today I visited him, asked the family to take him to a traditional bonesetter and paid 80% of the cost.
