*57THMONTH AND 13THDAYS OF UNPRECEDENTED INFRASTRUCTURAL STRIDES OF GOV. DAVID NWEZE UMAHI IN EBONYI STATE*
*MEDIA WARLORD*
.................Still counting.............
Engr. David Nweze Umahi on assumption of office on 29th May, 2015 started his mission of salvaging Ebonyi State with adding value to an ordinary Ebonyi man who hitherto was an object of mockery among people of other climes.
To achieve this, the governor created the ministry of Human Capital Development and through it Ebonyians started having some sense of belonging in the state governance; people, especially, women and youths who thought would amount to nothing were given loans and grants to add value to their lives. Training was also given to brush them up and imbibe into them the required skills for self reliance.
Apart from the unskilled status of an average Ebonyian, another great challenge facing the state was the problem of Infrastructure.
To our neighbouring states, Ebonyi state was synonymous to debris, dilapidation, dirty and poverty. Some even among Ebonyians nicknamed the State, “Dust of the Nation”
That went far at pointing at what we were like before Engr. David Nweze Umahi came on board. He met all these and faced them nonstop.
Then, to make Ebonyi man feel human in the eyes of other Nigerians, Engr Umahi embarked on the construction of roads in the state starting with roads in the state capital, Abakaliki. Parks, markets and streets began to wear new look with drainages and water fountains which make the state presently the centre of attraction, thereby returning the lost glory of the state as Salt of the Nation.

Today all these roads, flyovers etc have been completed.
It didn’t end there, the governor also undertook other mind blowing projects which no one ever believed was achievable; the fly over bridges, three at a time; finished and commissioned in matter of months while the last one at Abomege junction is over 90% completed.
Then the governor turned to what was called International market by the past administration and gave it “Umahic” touch that made it to qualify been shown to the world. And then, the Ecumenical Centre began, finished and furnished, commissioned and put to use. The Shopping Mall and the Tunnel leading to it plus the overhead pedestrian bridge at Ebonyi state University, Abakaliki’s Permanent site along Abakaliki – Enugu Expressway.
And to make Ebonyi the real salt which inevitably it is in our country, the governor entered the thirteen local government areas with concrete road and none was less than fifteen kilometre each. They were also done and dusted.
The glory of the second tenure shall be greater than the first.......
