Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd matches this week could be postponed as police meets clubs

Police and football clubs will continue their discussions on Monday, amid the possibility of wide scale postponements of matches this weekend, according to SportsMail.

Officers from across the country are set to be drafted into London to work during Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral on Monday, September 19 and events surrounding it.

It is believed this will see resources stretched both in the UK capital and beyond.

Fixtures, including Manchester United vs Leeds and Chelsea v Liverpool on Sunday are among those being discussed, with further meetings planned today.

There are also doubts over Arsenal’s Europa League group game with PSV on Thursday, while Rangers’ Champions League fixture with Napoli has been delayed 24 hours, with away fans banned.

Other options are being considered. It is thought that switching games has already been discussed.

However, Everton are at home on the same day Chelsea would instead head to Anfield. Leicester Tigers are also in action on Saturday, which makes Tottenham flipping their clash with Leicester City highly unlikely.

The visit of rivals Leeds to Old Trafford is one of the most heavily policed matches on the calendar, while large resources would also be needed for Liverpool’s trip to Stamford Bridge.

Fixtures outside the Premier League could also be at risk. In the Championship, Millwall, QPR and Watford are all due to be at home on Saturday.

Afrobeats Superstar singer, Burna Boy brags that he has performed in every country in the world. he said by 2022, he will have performed in almost every country in the world aside from Asia, Australia and South America.

The Grammy-award-winning singer made this known in a statement via his Twitter page. He spoke about how he had performed in almost all the 36 states of Nigeria by 2015. He added that in 2018 he had performed in almost every African country, and in 2022 he has performed in almost every country in the world.

Real Madrid defender, David Alaba, has hailed England youngster, Jude Bellingham, as one of the greatest midfield talents in the world.

Alaba has faced Bellingham during his time in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich.

Bellingham has established himself as an indispensable member of the Borussia Dortmund squad over the past two seasons.

The 19-year-old, who has been heavily linked with a 2023 summer move to Real Madrid and Liverpool, has three years left on his current deal with Dortmund.

He joined the Bundesliga from Birmingham City for an initial £25 million in 2020.

Bellingham has registered 12 goals and 19 assists in 98 appearances across all competitions for Dortmund.

Speaking to Welt (via GOAL), Alaba said, “As for Bellingham as a player, I can say that he is one of the greatest midfield talents in the world.

“And that at a young age! At just 19, he leads the team, doesn’t hide and already decides games with his style of play.”

Comedian, Chukwuemeka Emmanuel Ejekwu popularly known as Oga Sabinus, has been involved in a road crash.

Video of the crash which happened Sunday morning is currently circulating on social media.

Sabinus who won this year’s Best social media content creator at the Africa Movie Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) confirmed the incident.

The skit maker was involved in the crash riding in his newly acquired Benz.

Confirming the incident, Sabinus stated that he is safe and sound.

He wrote on his Instagram page, “Safe and sound, thank you for the calls and care.”

Six new commissioners and five special advisers have been sworn-in and assigned portfolios as members of Bauchi State Executive Council.

They are Abdulkadir Ibrahim as commissioner Ministry of Works and Transport, Hajiya Zainab Baban Takko Ministry of Commerce and Industries, Alhaji Adamu Babayo Gabarin Ministry of information, Ahmed Aliyu Jalam Ministry of Water Resource, Maryam Garba Bagel Ministry of Power, Science and Technology as well as Dr. Sabi’u Audu Gwalabe Ministry of Health

The Special Advisers include Alhaji Babayo Muhammad, Abubakar Bello Nawaila, Barr. Gashom Daniel Danna and Sabo Sunusi Khalifa.

Speaking after administering the oath of office and allegiance, Governor Bala Mohammed said the appointment followed the resignation of some members of the executive council who indicated interest in various elective positions during the recent primary elections.

They are charged to be accountable and transparent in managing resources and also advised to work with permanent secretaries in their various ministries to enhance their performance.

Speaking on behalf of the new appointees, the Commissioner of Works and Transport Abdulkadir Ibrahim expressed commitment to make positive contributions in formulating policies that would improve quality of life of the citizens.
