MEN’S COMMITMENT WALK|Kavango East governor Bonifatius Wakudumo encouraged men to be actively involved in raising their children. Wakudumo was speaking during the commitment walk for men held in Rundu district.
The Walk forms part of the 16 Days of Activism series of events aimed at creating awareness on gender-based violence.
Wakudumo further noted that the gathering is a testament to collectively resolve, challenge, address, and ultimately eradicate the pervasive issue of gender-based violence that continues to plague communities and societies at large.
The governor encouraged men to embrace the responsibility of listening and learning while ensuring that voices of survivors are amplified and prioritized.
“It is our duty as men to educate ourselves and others about the nuances of gender-based violence, its root causes, and its impact
on individuals and communities”he noted.
Over 100 men from Rundu and the surrounding areas participated in the walk.
