Our first ever episode is up and features Nana - Poet, Translator and Educator

In this episode, the conversation with Nana is about the self care and growth that can be very useful to an artist. Nana also shares their experience on navigating spaces in the KL spoken word and arts scene. Towards the end of the episode, you get to also hear Nana’s poem “These Tits” and find out how it came to be.

Nana is the runner up for the Malaysian National Poetry Slam 2018 which was held at the Georgetown Literary Festival. Nana’s original poems and short stories have been published both locally and internationally (USA and Indonesia). With an avid interest in education through poetry and arts, Nana has also been teaching in Malaysia and even all the way in Brunei.

We would like to congratulate Azam Rais, Vanezia and Kimchi Lai on making it to the top three of the 2018 Asia Pacific Poetry Slam at Lit Up Asia-Pacific held in Singapore over the weekend. The participating countries this year were Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore.

Winner: Azam Rais (MAS)
1st Runner-up: Venezia (SG)
2nd Runner-up: Kimchi Lai (MAS)

Congratulations also to all the other contestants who represented their countries admirably.

It was an honour to be entrusted to curate 2 full days of stage performances and we are grateful to each and everyone who contributed to it's success.

The Poet X Sessions included:

DAY 2:
Nocturnals.MY with their exuberant and heartfelt rap performance
