On September 11th 2001 I was just getting settled still in Omaha NE after moving from South Dakota. I just come off the night shift after being on duty for 16 hours. I awoke to use the restroom, turned on the news and stood there, just standing there with hair messed up from being asleep a few short hours, the crusty crud in my eyes from being asleep, just staring at the TV and crying, tears racing down my face as I finally managed to sit on the couch and watch in awe, still tears streamed down my cheeks. Later that day I returned to my job to work yet another 16 hour shift and I saw Air Force One fly over head (probably going to Offut) and the tears again started. Lee Greenwood TRULY does say it best. "There aint no doubt I love this this land, God bless the USA" We shall never forget. Not ever.

Day 8

Brian is still scheduled to be discharged from the hospital Monday. He still has some outpatient therapy for some things but otherwise has been making a good comeback. I just got off the phone with him now an he’s excited to be home andis very grateful for all the calls and get well wishes from staff dnd clients. It’s been a long week or so. We are just glad to get Brian back. And we will still remind him not to overwork. Himself 🙂.

Day 7 one full week from Brian suffering a stroke.

Yoder he got moved to an independent room in the hospital. He’s able to take care of himself and too make a full recovery from this whole thing. It’s been confirmed too that he will go back home Monday. We are do thankful Docs and nurses, the medical team therapy team and all the others that cared do him this last week. We’ve missed you Brian and welcome back let’s get you on the road entertaining soon!!!

Day 6 Brian’s stroke recovery

Yofsy brian was given a date for a tentative discharge day. That bring on Monday. He’s verb signing so hard right physical and occupational therapy both and some speech therapy to help with the slurring after a stroke. We will keep you posted in the next couple days. We miss you Brian!!!

Day 5 for Brian in the hospital for stroke recovery and care update

Brian was transferred downstairs to the third floor today which is the acute rehab program floor essentially acute rehab will be intense physical therapy and occupational therapy to get back on track to where he needs to be his medical team is still concerned about a very dangerously low heart rate and dangerously high blood pressure rate however he is I good spirits I did call and talk to him today. If you try and talk to him, please be advised if you call him he has slurred peech, which is a symptom of suffering a stroke. Thank you again everyone for all your prayers, concerns and reaching out iand your best wishes to Brian’s health.

Back to school is here for some of us and almost here for others. So, let's pay tribute to all of the teachers, para's, faculty, administration, staff. From kindergarten to elementary with middle school, jr high to high school and even college. Thank you teachers and staff!!! Your commitment to make a difference in our schools is truly appreciated. Just a little update on Brian. He is still in the hospital. He is now in the neurology intensive care unit. He saw a cardiologist today for a dangerously low heart rate. They hope to release him from the hospital soon so he can be transferred to an inpatient recovery center where intense physical therapy and occupational therapy being done

We lost Jason, “Skinny J” back in 2015 January 18th to be exact. 9 years later we love and miss him so much. Keep that dance floor rocking up in heaven Skinny J!!! Until we meet again our friend. ❤️ Stay tuned later for a little memorial post from Brian and some pictures of Jason

Here's the wrap up story on the 10pm news cast last night. Thank you to the public, Russ's market, channel 8 news, 10-11 news, the volunteers we had help, JP with 96KX and of course all law enforcement for all they do. We are excited to announce this as a annual event to be held each year as the West A Neighborhood National Night Out. Once again, thank you to all.
