Had the wonderful opportunity to attend SICC’s Chinatown buffet yesterday & it was nice to see kids (and adults) enjoying the fun lion dance performance!
Now let’s get down to the real deal; FOOD! 1st thing 1st, I’m glad there were 2 main stations located in the big hall so you don’t have to run from one end to the other and most importantly, they provided gloves & hand sanitisers at each food stations too!
SICC once again impressed us with their selections of dishes! They had homemade hand-pulled noodles, to dim sums, congees & porridges with tons of colourful condiments. They also have local favourites such as murtabak, chicken curry and dhal, choice of chicken or duck rice, roast lamb.. oh my god, the list goes on and on! They even had a stir fry station where you choose your veggies and meat and they will stir fry it for you on the spot!
Fresh oysters & scallops? Yes. Fresh sashimi? Yes. Slipper lobster?! YES.
Some special desserts we’ve spotted includes, mooncakes, osmanthus jelly, candied sweet potato, 8 treasures rice pudding and even tangyuan!
My favourite dish would be from the main course section; the steamed Garoupa with nyonya sauce and the salted egg prawn with egg floss. I also enjoyed dipping the soft & fluffy steamed mantou in the nyonya sauce.
Didn’t get to taste much of the dessert unfortunately because I was so stuffed, but I enjoyed the ice lemon tea! Somehow it tasted different than other ice lemon tea I’ve tasted before. Also got some fortune cookies to end our meal.
They even had this 150ft long mandarin swissroll /cake designed by chef and his team to look like a dragon! How cool!
Overall, the food tasted great! I had a great time meeting long time no see friends (haha) Staff were helpful and friendly too!
Definitely a highlight to my Lunar new year 🤣
Thank you once again for inviting me 👏🥺
