Devastating Fire Ravages Kutupalong Rohingya Refugee Camp
A catastrophic fire broke out on December 24, 2024, at 12:30 PM, in Camp 1W, Block F of the Kutupalong Rohingya Refugee Camp in Bangladesh. The blaze has destroyed over 300 shelters, leaving thousands of vulnerable refugees homeless and at heightened risk.
Tragically, the body of a child has been recovered from the scene, and several others have sustained injuries, requiring urgent medical attention. Families are grappling with immense loss as their homes and belongings have been reduced to ashes.
This devastating incident highlights the ongoing challenges faced by the Rohingya community in one of the world’s largest refugee camps. Immediate intervention is critical to address the urgent needs of those affected. Emergency shelter, medical care, food, and essential supplies are desperately needed to support displaced families and help them rebuild their lives.

Rebel group (AA) entrenched themselves within Noil Boinnah (Pan Taw Pyin) village in Maungdaw Township, the Myanmar military unleashed a barrage of artillery. This morning, one of their shells set ablaze a Rohingya home.
With dusk settling, (AA) has initiated a counter-offensive, launching artillery towards Rohingya settlements in the downtown area of Maungdaw Township. Thus far, at least four artillery shells have been fired from their stronghold in Noil Boinnah (Pan Taw Pyin) village.

According to Rohingya community sources, two more individuals are still trapped under the mud. Rescue efforts are likely ongoing as authorities and Rohingya volunteers work to locate and assist the missing individuals.
The situation in Maungdaw Township's Noil Boinnah (Pan Taw Pyin) village is indeed critical. A clash between Myanmar military and AA has erupted around noon, with the military taking positions in Khadi Bill (Nyaung Chaung) village and the AA in Noil Boinnah. This conflict has created a perilous environment for the local Rohingya population, who are caught in the crossfire and are fleeing to save their lives.
Rohingya, already a vulnerable group due to previous conflicts and systemic discrimination, face an immediate threat to their safety. This fighting adds another layer of complexity and danger to their already precarious situation.
Humanitarian assistance and intervention are urgently needed to ensure the protection and safe evacuation of civilians trapped in the conflict zone.
On June 10, 2024, in Alay Than Kyaw village of Maungdaw Arakan State, intense fighting occurred between military and AA.
At around 7:00 am, terrorist AA members entered Rohingya village and was forced over 350 Rohingya residents to leave from their village. They are starving for food, water, shelter and others.
