Latest work that had very interesting content. Random encounter from Google was how I got this job. Great guy Pablo and we had some good talk about the nature of life and consciousness.

Why are we conscious? What is it about brain activity that is "magically" linked to conscious experiences, be it seeing, hearing, a thought, a feeling, or a ...

So good to be shooting again. I never realised how much joy it brings me until covid fu**ed it all up. Promo for Finas showcasing their audio post production facilities. Finally bought a gimbal after all these years. Held off long enough. Found what I needed with the DJI RSC2 Pro. Raveneye WiFi transmission works well for the director to review the footage as we shoot. Thanks to Adrian Yew our audio guy for the shot.

This is because you’re essentially engaging an entirely different set of ISO settings through a different signal path, which is optimized for lower-light shooting. This will give you a much lower noise floor for these higher ISOs than if you had kept using the same signal path like a standard camera without Dual ISO capabilities.

The Dual ISO sensor is on the rise, and every major camera manufacturer has made one (or will very soon). What is it, though, and what does it mean?

A dance film. Music is by me too. Please use headphones. There's some awesome left/right channel stereo shifting.

This is the second take of two single takes. Basically one practice run and what you see is the second run. No pre-choreography and amazing spontaneous dancing from Rathimalar Govindarajoo

A semi camera test of the AF performance of the A7III. Wanted to push it to the limits for my freelance jobs. Low light, lots of random handheld movement. Zero crew, just me.

Sony A7III, Tamron 28-75mm at f/2.8, set at 35mm. Edited and graded in Premiere Pro.

Film I was DoP on which won director Edmund Yeo Tokyo International Film Festival Best Director. Was on a steadicam the whole shoot. I used it roughly since I wanted a smoothed off handheld feel. Used a Samyang cine lens 35mm f/1.5 80% of the time, one focus puller and one lighting person with 2 led lights max. The frame you see here used one of my all time fav lens a USD20 35mm CCTV lens. Uncoated and crazy bokeh and flares. Shot on the OG Sony A7s. 1080, 50mbit on SLOG2. The scene with dead bodies from the boat, the lens got coated by sea spray and I decided to leave it on cos of the diffused dreamy look it gave, serendipity and genius that's what I call it. Now available to watch on MUBI.com

Short of money, a woman turns to human trafficking to make ends meet. Focusing in part on the Rohingyas’ flight to Malaysia to avoid persecution, the film is a poetic depiction of one woman’s spiritual journey.

Alicia Amin best model I've worked with so far (not that I've worked with that many) Thanks for the self direction and poses. This was for a sub brand from Bata, Power. Shot on a 24mm Nikon F/2.8 lens and a Sony A7s in RAW and cooked in Lightroom.
