🟦 Sunrise Timelapse, Penang Hill Come and witness the breathtaking sunrise over Penang Island, from atop Bukit Bendera, or Penang Hill "Bukit Bendera" roughly translates to the Flagstaff Hill, is an 833mm tall hill situated on the Penang Island itself. It is the tallest hill on the island, and thus offers the best birds-eye view of the island and even parts of Mainland Penang, as well as the sunrise over the horizons. The best viewing times for Sunrises atop Penang Hill is around the later months of the year (October to December) and the early months of the year (January to early march), with peak viewing times around early February when sunrise is delayed the longest. A later sunrise time allows for more prepartion time to set up and prepare for the sunrise, or even in the right conditions, the formations of sea's of clouds over the island! Everything from meat, fresh produce and other grocery items can be bought from the old uncles and aunts that operate the stalls under the roof of the Pasar. By late morning, the market begins to wind down in activity, which was when we shot this. This is already considered low activity for the market! Otherwise, there would had been no space for us to shoot at all. The market is located at Kampung Pisang, Ayer Itam. 🟦 Oh My Bingsu, Dessert Store With the recent heat waves and strong mid-day sun sweeping over the island, wouldn't it be nice to cool down with a treat? The dessert store, eluded from its name, specializes in serving Bingsu - a Korean milk-based shaved ice dessert. It also has a series dedicated to Croffles - a cross between a croissant and a waffle. The pairing between the sweet but not overpowering Bingsu and the freshly toasted Croffles is a match no more ubiquitous than toast and butter. The texture of the shaved ice, mentioned by all who came along for the shoot was regarded as being very well done. Prices for the items on the menu and the one's we ordered were also respectable, coming in big portions for the Bingsu and were overall correlative with the quality of food and service. The décor and furniture of the store is also quaintly done, reflecting the homely and relaxing vibes of what one would expect from an iced-dessert parlor.
