As always since 2010, Jazz Ampang is a jazz community event where Jazz Ampang 103 does not charge any entry and is not profit-oriented. Money spent to put all the events to date come from the people passionate in promoting jazz. Occasionally we see some donors chipping the odd ringgit.

Those performing also are not paid but are free to seek for their own sponsors. Water and snacks are served to those involved whose only incentive is them driven to do it by passion. Love you and us all.

YAY+ is our online broadcast partner for our Winter VIRTUAL WORLD YOUTH JAZZ FESTIVAL 2021. (WinterVWYJF2021).

We had originally planned to broadcast our first ever online festival, The VIRTUAL WORLD YOUTH JAZZ FESTIVAL 2021 (VWYJF2021) from 4-6 June 2021.

However, due to the sudden flare up of COVID-19 infections, many of the selected artists are unable to record their performances in time for the broadcast.

Several dates were proposed, one even by our would be sponsors who wanted an end of June 2021 VWYJF2021.

Initially we were agreeable to the early date that the would be sponsors wanted as we value their sponsorship, but sadly nearly all the artists selected came forth and said the earliest they can do anything is during the later part of the year, not any earlier. Even then this is subject to the virus being beaten. If not we will have another decision to make.

Bearing in mind WYJF is driven in a family manner by artists and volunteers worldwide under our WYJF Global Family banner, we decided to stage WYJF 2021 as The Winter VIRTUAL WORLD YOUTH JAZZ FESTIVAL 2021. (WinterVWYJF2021) from 3-5 December 2021.

This decision may see us losing a very precious 5-year sponsorship deal but we are hoping they would understand our predicament and still decide to go the distance with us despite this unforeseen hick up.

All is well that ends well. Always.

Life is too short to worry. So, don't worry, be happy.

Keep well stay safe and enjoy life despite the odds.

Our WORLD YOUTH JAZZ FESTIVAL (WYJF) caters mainly for participation by youths as defined by UNESCO:

However under the With The Youth segment of WYJF, we make provision for 30% of total number of artistes above the age of 24 years to participate in order to encourage interaction between the young musicians and the older more experienced elders.

Hence age is not an issue.

2021 will see WYJF being done online for the first time due to COVID-19 pandemic that also saw WYJF 2020 being cancelled.

The first online WYJF will be the VIRTUAL WORLD YOUTH JAZZ FESTIVAL 2021 (VWYJF2021) to be held from 4-6 June 2021 and broadcasted by YAY+.

Prior to that our traditional Road To WYJF program will be held periodically in April and May 2021, also online.
