Carlos Lara (Monterrey, N.L.)
Multidisciplinary artist. Bachelor of Arts from UdeM, he has studies in photography, engraving, drawing and painting. He has been part of various initiatives and emerging spaces in the city and since 2019 is co-founder of the TIMBA Project, Artist-run Space established in Monterrey. His work explores the various ways in which identity is constructed through symbolic networks related to industrial modernization processes. A reflection on how the work culture has been stimulated here under the framework of a “civilizing process”; work as a vehicle for progress, the capitalization of leisure time and forced displacement at the mercy of the modernizing process.

Chantal Peñalosa (Tecate, Mexico. 1987) studied fine arts at the Autonomous University of Baja California and the University of São Paulo. She received the Acquisition Award at the XIV Northwest Visual Arts Biennial and received FONCA scholarships in the Young Artists category (2013-2014 and 2015-2016). In 2014 she also received the Bancomer-MACG Program in its 4th edition.
Peñalosa's research-based practice stems from small gestures and interventions in everyday life, which aim to expose the notions of work, waiting, and delay. Repetition is a crucial element in the process of it, which functions as an allusion to the absurdity, the weather and the alienating effects of work. For Peñalosa, repetitive actions evoke latent states in which dialogue seems one-sided and time suspended.

Fritzia Irízar (Culiacán, Mexico, 1977). She lives and works in Merida.
Fritzia Irízar's work has questioned the value of money and its purchasing power. Irízar plays with the economic and symbolic revaluation of objects when they pass from their common sphere to integrate into art. Likewise, her work shows that history and science are almost fictions, built on tiny patches of knowledge subject to the decision of a few individuals. However, they are fictions that we wish to uphold: as acts of faith, of belonging, of will or of certainty.

Tania Candiani (Mexico City, 1974) has developed her work in various media and practices that maintain interest in the complex intersection between phonetic, graphic, linguistic, symbolic and technological languages. He has worked with different association narratives from rearranging, remixing and playing with correspondences between technology, knowledge and thought, using the idea of organization and reorganization as discourse, and critical thinking and empirical research as material for production.
